CEO's Reborn Wife-Chapter 1565 - 1573 Peace Card
She kicked her feet in the air twice, turning her head to glare at James Black.
Perhaps her defiant action was somewhat comical, as James Black wasn’t scared by her fierce glare and even let out a low laugh.
"Can’t you tell I’m angry?" Jane Sampson bared her teeth at James Black, "I’m really mad right now! Not happy, so don’t pull me!"
She shook her hand, "My hand doesn’t want to be held by you."
James Black knew Jane Sampson was feeling both angry and embarrassed, so he gradually withdrew the smile from his face.
However, he managed to remove the smile from his face but not from his eyes.
He lowered his gaze to the bouquet that Jane Sampson had stuffed into his arms and suddenly noticed a few cards in it. Fearing that Jane Sampson would run off if he let go, he blew lightly at the cards to reveal their printed side and glanced at them.
"Peace card?" James Black looked at Jane Sampson in confusion, "What does this mean?"
The card simply had the three words "peace card" written on it.
Jane Sampson instinctively opened her mouth to explain, "It’s exactly as it says. If you ever make me angry, you just give me this peace card. Once I receive it, I have to immediately calm down and stop being angry with you." 𝓯𝓻𝒆𝙚𝒘𝓮𝙗𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝒍.𝙘𝓸𝙢
After saying this, Jane Sampson remembered that she was still in the middle of a tiff with James Black, so she huffed and, with a haughty air, turned her head away.
James Black arched his brows, finally releasing Jane Sampson’s hand, then directly picked up the topmost peace card and handed it to Jane Sampson. "Here," James Black said, "You said taking the peace card means you have to stop being angry immediately."
Jane Sampson looked at James Black in complete disbelief.
How could he pull this off?
Is he using it already?
Jane Sampson held the thin card, pondering it over, and felt a bit embarrassed about taking back the card she just gave.
So she thought it over and asked, "Are you sure you want to use up this peace card? You only have one peace card now."
"Weren’t you just angry?" James Black asked, "How do I get a peace card?"
"From now on, every first day of the Lunar New Year, you’ll get three of each type of card, and then on major holidays, you’ll get one of each type. After that, it depends on your usual performance for additional rewards," Jane Sampson explained.
"Then why is there only one type now?" James Black reached out to Jane Sampson to demand, "What about this year’s cards? Three of each type, with three types altogether, that should be nine cards in total."
"..." Jane Sampson took a step back and slapped James Black’s palm, "The past doesn’t count, this game officially starts today! It’s my Valentine’s Day gift to you! The bouquet and three cards!"
James Black wrinkled his eyebrows, seeming somewhat dissatisfied, but looking at Jane Sampson, ultimately didn’t say anything further.
It was Jane Sampson who looked at the peace card in her hand and confirmed again, "You really want to use this peace card? Are you willing?"
"What else?" James Black asked.
"Actually, even if you don’t use this peace card, I’d probably stop being angry after two more minutes," Jane Sampson, not one to be unreasonable, acknowledged that her anger was quite unfounded.
So her temper would subside in another minute or two at most.
"Really?" James Black nodded in a suddenly enlightened manner, "In that case, you can return the peace card to me; I don’t need to use it."
"I’m not returning it now!" Jane Sampson pulled back her hand, giggling like a mischievous child, tucked the peace card into her purse, and then merrily skipped toward James Black’s dormitory.
