James Black left, and Jane Sampson felt relieved enough to catch up on some sleep in the Bed until past 8 o’clock before she really woke up. After waking up, the first thing Jane did was to check her mobile phone, then she called Peter Gingery.
"Sister Tin, have I been blacklisted?" This was Jane’s first question, and she was even afraid to check online first.
Considering Old Master Black’s temperament and methods, Jane was quite afraid that James wouldn’t be able to stand up to Old Master Black. After all, how does the saying go?
The older the ginger, the spicier it is.
"Congratulations, you haven’t," Peter Gingery laughed at Jane’s question. "Didn’t James tell you that he would take care of your issues? He personally came to me yesterday, and we agreed that he would help. However, don’t get too happy about one thing. James said that he doesn’t object to you being an actor, but..." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"But he doesn’t support me being an actor either, right?" Jane interrupted with a snort.
"Right," Peter Gingery nodded. "He’s waiting for the day you can’t continue on this acting path and return to the family. So, don’t count on the Black Family for resources or as your backing; that’s not going to happen."
"I never intended to rely on the Black Family nor counted on them for support. So, you must keep my relationship with the Black Family a secret, Sister Tin." For Jane, the fact that James was not opposed was already the greatest news.
As for Old Master Black, there has been no movement so far, which is quite unlike his style. Thus, James’s trip back home yesterday must have had an effect.
Jane decided to visit the Black Family’s old mansion in the morning anyway, as she admittedly was at fault from the beginning, so even if James went back yesterday, she should also personally go back and apologize to the elderly man.
Since she was young, every member of the Black Family had treated her well, and she could say she liked the Black Family more than her own Sampton Family after she turned 16 years old. She enjoyed the harmonious atmosphere of the Black Family, so she would often find an excuse to visit Peter Gingery and stay at the Black Residence the whole day.
Though Old Master Black had a bit of a temper, he had always treated her well. Last time she visited, Old Sir even helped her get her mobile phone back from James and scored a beautiful victory.
After hanging up the phone, Jane prepared herself and then left the house. When she got to the first floor of the building, Jane remembered something, went back home, entered the kitchen, and dug out a jar of tea leaves from the freezer.
The tea leaves were stored by James. Jane didn’t know what kind of tea leaves they were, but James enjoyed good tea, so any tea he stored in the refrigerator must be of high quality.
Since James was raised by Old Master Black himself, Jane thought that whatever James liked, Old Master Black would probably also appreciate.
So, with no guilt, Jane took the treasured tea leaves belonging to James to the Black Residence.
When Jane drove into the Black Family’s old mansion, Old Master Black was outside walking the Great General, and it was rare that Brooke Black and her husband were at home.
"Auntie, uncle-in-law," Jane greeted the two seniors like a well-behaved baby after entering, and then removed her mask and hat. Over the course of the evening, the palm print on her face had subsided.
"You’re here to see Old Sir, right?" Brooke Black glanced at the stuff in Jane’s hand and immediately burst into laughter, "A gift to bribe Old Sir? Where did you buy this excellent tea?"
Seeing that Brooke’s attitude towards her was the same as before, Jane felt relieved; it seemed her aunt wasn’t upset.
