Chapter 109: Chapter 117: It’s not a big deal

"What’s wrong?" Daniel Taylor’s gaze shifted away from Jane Sampson, who was holding her mobile phone, and he knew she was making a call to Sister Tin when he heard her shout Sister Tin’s name.

The "What’s wrong?" was directed at Doctor Taylor, who had a slight smile on his face.

Daniel Taylor thought, if his cousin could still smile, it meant his situation wasn’t too bad.

"Bad news, there’s a tumor in my head, not small, good news, it’s benign. You said you kept forgetting things recently when you came in for the examination last time. It’s this tumor causing it," Doctor Taylor explained, "While the tumor hasn’t worsened, it’s best to remove it as soon as possible. The good news is, given the location of this tumor, the difficulty and risk of the surgery are both within controllable range. Plainly speaking, without any accidents, there shouldn’t be any risk of death."

"Phew, as long as I’m not going to die, that’s a relief. You gave me quite the fright." Daniel Taylor leaped off the sickbed, "Just now, while drinking, my head started to hurt so much then suddenly I couldn’t hold my wine cup steady. My vision started spinning and then everything went dark, and I passed out. When I woke up and saw I was in the hospital, I thought I had an incurable disease."

With that said, Daniel Taylor beckoned towards Jane Sampson, "Are you talking to Tin on the phone? Hand it over, let me speak to her."

Jane Sampson hurriedly passed the mobile phone to him.

"Wife, it’s nothing serious, you worried for nothing, huh?" Daniel Taylor laughed heartily as he spoke to himself, "Last time you brought Jane here for an audition, didn’t you say I was mentally ill? Then, the next day, I took the time to come to the hospital for a full-body examination. Little did I expect you’d actually be right, I really do have a brain problem. Wife, you really are amazing!"

This praise, "you really are amazing," from Daniel Taylor, wasn’t said in jest at all; he meant every word quite earnestly.

Doctor Taylor touched his nose tip and laughed awkwardly. That day when Daniel Taylor came to the hospital seeking a full-body examination, he had asked him why he wanted to do all this. Daniel Taylor replied that his wife said he had a brain illness, thus he felt he needed to check and confirm whether he was indeed sick. At the time, Doctor Taylor thought his cousin was really funny.

Later, when he heard Daniel Taylor complain about his recent memory loss and forgetfulness, at first Doctor Taylor thought it might be due to Daniel being busy and not resting enough, which could cause a decline in memory. But he also took it to heart, and after Daniel Taylor completed his examination, he personally made sure to push his colleagues to fast-track the results.

Unexpectedly, the results came out that afternoon, and there really was a not-so-small benign tumor inside Daniel Taylor’s head.

Standing close by, Jane Sampson could faintly hear Rock Bell crying over the phone, probably truly frightened by Daniel Taylor.

Both of them, one in Capital Province, the other mostly in City C, despite being divorcees, Jane Sampson could sense that, whether it was Rock Bell or Daniel Taylor, their affection for each other had remained, and had not diminished in the slightest despite their separation.

Such a relationship undoubtedly made Jane Sampson envious. In this world, they were cherished by their other half. Rock Bell doted on Daniel Taylor, and Daniel Taylor doted on Rock Bell; just that their ways of showing care were different, that’s all. 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

Daniel Taylor was holding Jane’s phone, softly coaxing Rock Bell, while Jane exchanged a glance with King and then stepped out first.

As King walked out of the Emergency Room, he remarked, "Actually, Director Taylor really loves Sister Tin."

"I heard Director Taylor got married earlier; is it true?" Olivia Chip, who was standing next to him, picked up the conversation and asked.

Only then did King realize that he had said too much. He just stood there, giving Olivia Chip an awkward smile without replying, while Jane Sampson acted as though she wasn’t there at all.
