Chapter 106: Chapter 114: Take a Guess

Jane Sampson shrugged her shoulders and said nothing, taking the first step into the elevator.

No deep secrets were hidden; it was simply that her style matched Ms. Little’s preferences, and with their good private relationship, it was no wonder that Ms. Little was not stingy with her praises for Jane.

Outside the hotel, Ms. Little got into the car with a friend. The summer air inside the car was stuffy, and the man next to her lowered his head to remove his mask and hat, revealing his originally handsome features, albeit his face was a sickly pale, his gaze remained clear.

"Was that Jane Sampson you mentioned to me?" the man asked, his voice exceptionally pleasant to the ear. 𝑓𝓇𝘦ℯ𝘸𝘦𝑏𝓃𝑜𝘷ℯ𝑙.𝑐𝑜𝓂

If Jane had been there, she would have been surprised; that voice unmistakably belonged to her long-admired idol, James Carter.

"Yes, two years ago, I invited her to be a special guest at my music concert, but she declined. I thought that was just her way of life, not expecting her to suddenly switch careers and choose acting," Ms. Little said with a smile when mentioning Jane, "Speaking of which, she is your super fan. She can sing every song of yours and even memorize all the scores. I’ve heard her self-composed adaptations of two songs, very soulful renditions. If you get a chance to listen, I bet you’d like them too."

"I have seen a few of her competitions and performances; she’s a young person with potential and talent," commented James Carter in a neutral tone.

Having seen her before, James Carter had immediately recognized her when she exited the elevator just now.

She hadn’t been seen on screens or in the circle for years, but she hadn’t changed much; she still looked the same as she did years before.

"Do you know what her WhatsAPP nickname is?" Ms. Little suddenly asked, then chuckled mischievously, "Take a guess."

James Carter glanced at his friend beside him and raised his eyebrows, "Since you’re asking, does it have something to do with me?"

"Right."

Even so, James Carter couldn’t guess what it was.

It was unlikely to be those titles commonly used by his fans, otherwise Ms. Little wouldn’t be asking this way.

"If you’re not guessing, then I’m not telling," Ms. Little laughed.

"Hmm, I’m not that curious," James Carter replied calmly, shifting his body to find a more comfortable position.

"Is your foot bothering you again? I must say, you’re too stubborn. If it’s uncomfortable, why don’t you have Edwards push you when you go out? Why insist on enduring it?" Ms. Little frowned slightly, looking at James Carter’s foot, her sigh so deep it didn’t even make a sound.

After returning to her room and putting away her luggage, Jane Sampson went to the company with King. Daniel Taylor, hearing from King that Ms. Little knew Jane, blurted out, "Handling Ms. Little’s matter is up to you. If you complete it, I’ll have the screenwriter add three seconds of lines for you."

"..." Jane thought about it and realized she didn’t particularly need those three seconds.

After all, three seconds only accounted for one sentence.

For a role like Evelyn Woods, another sentence didn’t seem to make much difference; after all, anything essential had already been arranged by the screenwriter.

Daniel Taylor, who clearly had no intention of asking Jane whether she wanted it or not, quickly turned the topic to another matter, "Last time you and Tin were leaving, did she say when she’d find time to remarry me?"

"???" Jane blurted out, "Sister Tin mentioned remarrying you, director?"

"No?" Daniel Taylor scratched his head, "I thought she mentioned it? I’ve been calling her these past two days, and she’s so irritable, yelling at people after just a few words."
