CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 85: Taking Advantage

Morning dew covers the leaves of the trees and plants, while the birds keep chirping which brought Amy back into reality from dreamland. She opened her eyes and there was warmth from the sun and cool air from the morning breeze.

"Rise and shine babe!" she heard Mary exclaim, so she looked in her direction only to see her friend fully dressed in business attire so early in the morning.

"Why are you dressed up like that and where are you going this early on a weekend?" Amy asked.

"Well, I have a business meeting with your boyfriend’s contractor slash designer slash friend, so get up and get ready too."

"What? This early? Can’t it wait until Monday?" Amy asked as she yawn out of her sleepiness.

"Why postponed the things I can do today babe? Plus, Henry is very eager to spend his money on renovating our place so you can thank me later," Mary said as she puts on her makeup while sitting in front of the vanity mirror.

"How about Ash, I thought he will pay for it too?" Amy then got out of bed and took the towel that Mary placed on the sofa near Amy.

"Ash left last night. Rei asked Ava to drive him home and accompany Ash to the doctor today since he was badly beaten up and was totally wasted last night. I will ask for a different form of payment from him so don’t worry about it," Mary explained.

Last night Mary had made Henry and Ash sign a compensatory damage agreement where Henry will pay for the renovation of the place and damaged furniture. However, since the fight was instigated by Ash, Mary had him pay for it in the monetary form twice the amount that Henry will pay for.

She wanted to teach the two a lesson not to do it again at least not while on Amy’s property for she care about it too. Plus, being a business-minded person like her, she has plans to invest the money back into Amy’s farm to help her best friend out.

After they had dressed up for the said meeting, the two ladies went together to the outdoor patio where they will meet the contractor. Sandra, Maya, and Henry were already there talking to the contractor when they arrived.

"This is the man that I am talking about. Meet Theodore Oswald," Henry introduced him to Mary and Amy as they shake each other’s hands.

"Just Theo. Henry woke me up in the middle of the night and now I understand why is he in a hurry. As I can see, he already started the demo," Theo jested as he pointed out how the place was totally wrecked.

Even though the broken plates, glasses, and furniture were already cleaned up last night, the damage in the area is still visible and with one look at it, anyone can tell what happened to that place right away.

"Why don’t we have breakfast first? The others are in Amy’s house already preparing, let’s go there," Sandra suggested and everyone followed her going to Amy’s house.

After breakfast was done, Anton, Rei, Mitch, and Dave went home to enjoy their weekend while Amy and Henry stayed to oversee the planning of the renovation, to make sure that Mary will not overspend on it.

"Mary! Your plan is insane, it is too much, way so much for payment, this won’t do," Amy cannot believe that her best friend is using the situation to rip off Henry. 𝗳𝐫𝚎𝗲𝚠𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝘃𝚎𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝗺

"Why not? This is for the farm and all of us will benefit from it. Plus if you two will get married someday then Henry will benefit from it too. Right? Future brother-in-law?" Mary smirked and raised a brow at Henry to coax him to agree to her plan.

Henry cleared his throat when Mary widened her eyes at him gesturing him to say yes, "It’s ok, love, I have the money for it. Go ahead with it Theo. Do whatever Mary says."

"Are you out of your mind? She is obviously robbing you, taking advantage of last night," Amy rebutted as she put back on the table the rough sketch that Mary made last night. ’This is not a renovation Mary, this is building a new one and it’s not a patio, it’s a restaurant!"

"I might have missed telling you that he he," Mary uttered.

Well, her plan was to make a bigger outdoor dining area with a chef’s kitchen for her mom since Bellory’s kitchen is small and Welsh Holdings is planning on expanding the cafe and there’s no better place to do the production of the pastries than Amy’s farm.

"What are you planning Mary?" Amy asked while everyone looks back and forth between the two ladies.

"Since Anton proposed that we make the pastries in one place to ensure the consistency of the quality of it, then I thought why not make it here you’ve got the land, it will save us rent then we can just have the products delivered to the branches," Mary explained.

Amy sighed and rubs her temples with one hand. She understand what her friend means, but Henry had given her a lot already and she didn’t want to abuse his kindness to her.

"Then how about, let’s make it as a loan to Henry? Only charge him the renovation amount for the patio then the rest will be under the loan?" Maya suggested.

"No, need Maya, I would be happy to pay for everything. Theo, make it bigger, it should fit 35-40 tables. Work on the design with them and send me the bill," Henry instructed Theo before he stood up.

Mary squealed due to too much happiness and excitement. She only proposed 15-20 tables, thinking that they can also serve coffee on the farm where the beans are planted and the customers can also watch how their coffee is being made.

On the other hand, Amy glared at her best friend for being audacious with her demands, but Mary just winked at her.

"I can’t believe you agreed to her greediness," Amy shook her head as she stand to follow Henry as they walk towards Amy’s room.

"Amy, let it go. I don’t see it as greed. Mary is a good businesswoman and she’s looking after you so I will support her. Plus, she will never stop bugging me until she gets what she wants," Henry said before they went inside her room.

Amy hugged Henry and he kissed the top of her as he hug her back, " I guess I should thank you, for giving in to my best friend’s whim. Thank you, Henry."

"Just thank you? I think I deserve more than that, don’t you think?" Amy craned her neck up to look at Henry, only to see him pouting his lips asking for a kiss.

Amy happily obliged and gave him a passionate one before letting go.
