CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 70: Nosy

Amy did not look back as she left Vanessa in the bakery. Her steps were swift not allowing Vanessa to catch up with her if ever she plans to. She can’t believe that a woman as rich, beautiful, and successful as Vanessa would stoop so low for a man that already rejected her and already belongs to someone else.

As she entered the elevator going to the VIP rooms where Jayson is, she pondered if she should tell Henry about what Vanessa did or not.

Now she is understanding little by little why Henry wanted her to train hard with Ava, Mitch, and Dave. Well, that is besides the fact that it is also for their bed activities.

Henry is a rich, handsome, famous, and powerful man. It is expected that he will not only have enemies that wanted to harm him but also die-hard admirers who would want to hurt and destroy the woman that he will fall in love with.

Amy instantly forgot her previous interaction with Vanessa as soon as she saw her little angels smiling at her when she entered the VIP room. Jena was there to bid her farewell since they have to leave before dawn to be able to arrive in time for Mary’s birthday party.

She happily helps Jayson and Jena with their breakfast as the old couple watches them with smiles on their faces. They were devastated when they lost their only daughter and were worried about their grandchildren. They are retired old people and have no money to raise them. Given the kid’s situation before, they thought that they have to give them up to the social workers to be adopted into another family.

They were thankful that Amy took over, even though she was still single and just starting her adult life, she did not allow her brother’s kids to be taken by the social workers and shoulder the responsibility of taking care of them.

Even though they lost their daughter, they gained another they thought and they will do whatever they can and give everything they’ve got to help her not only with the kids but also with her life.

"Amy, dear, sit here and eat with us. You should let Jayson and Jena eat on their own so they can learn how to be independent," Alice exclaimed.

"Alright, Aunt Alice. I just wanted to cherish this moment with them. I don’t know when will I see them again after today. I will be busy with my book and the farm starting next week," Amy said as she took her seat together with the old couple.

"Amy I hope that you don’t mind, we already treat you as our own daughter. Can I ask what is your plan with Henry?" Alice asked as she put some food on Amy’s plate.

Before Amy can answer, Robert laughed which made her look at the old man, "I’m sorry but my wife is being funny. She’s being nosy Amy, let me help her. What she wanted to know is if you plan to marry Henry."

Robert jerked when Alice smacked his arm with a newspaper, "Oh, why do you have to phrase it that way?" Alice protested.

"Why not? It is more direct you know, so you can get your answer straight," Robert casually uttered as he chew the bread in his mouth.

Amy giggled at the bickering old couple, she remembered her parents being like that as well.

"He hasn’t asked me formally yet," Amy’s reply got back the attention of Alice and Robert and she just continued eating her breakfast without looking at the two.

"Will you say yes if he asks you?" Alice moves a little closer to Amy as she waits for her reply.

"Maybe, it depends..." Amy trailed off.

"On what?" Robert was the one curious now as he too moved closer to Amy.

"Depends on how things will go between us. We’ve only known each other for just almost a month and of course, I cannot say that I am one hundred percent sure that I want to marry him," Amy look back and forth between Alice and Robert for their faces are moving closer to her face, and she was trying her best not to laugh at how curious they look right now.

"Just say yes dear, we can see his sincerity towards you. The man really loves you," Alice moves back to her seat and continues drinking her coffee.

"How can you say that he loves me when we just met?" Amy kept on hearing from other people that they can see how Henry loves her when they have not spent that much time yet.

"Isn’t it obvious to you? His eyes are twinkling whenever he looks at you. Just go with it dear, look at me and your Uncle, he said he fell in love with me at first sight and got married early, but until now we are still together," Alice tried to convenience Amy without teasing her.

"That is true, I was captivated by your Aunt’s beauty," Robert beamed at Alice and the two giggled like teenagers in love.

That conversation made Amy think, that what if he and Henry were really meant to be together till death do they part, just like what he said to Vanessa at the party. What if he is the one and she is just making both their lives difficult by prolonging what is inevitable?

Henry already told her not just once but multiple times that he wanted to marry her, but also that made her wonder why he is not asking her properly with a ring if he is really serious about it.

The old couple stare at her since she suddenly became quiet, lost in her own thought. That made the couple happy and felt accomplished for they can see that Amy is considering what they just said.

Amy didn’t know that Henry already talked to Alice and Robert to ask for her hand in marriage. The two were touched by that simple gesture because they are not even related to Amy by blood but since they are the closest señior in her life, Henry wanted to give them respect.

Even though they are not her parents, he still talked to them about his plans for her. And the couple thought that who are they to decline?

Henry had been good to them ever since the start and they can see how much he cares for Amy and her family. Plus the fact that Henry wanted to adopt their grandchildren to give them the family that should have, made Henry earn a point from them.

Because of that, they promised Henry to help him with Amy. They know that Amy swore to stay single forever and dedicate herself to the kids but they don’t agree with that. They want Amy to enjoy her life and have a family of her own, and now that Henry is here, they will do their best to play cupid between the two.

Henry arrived at the hospital right before dinner time and decided to bring the whole family to Mr. Wilson’s Steak House to celebrate Jayson’s road to recovery which the hospital approved since it was just near the area.

Jayson was really happy since it is his first time going out of the hospital after he arrived in Brookegrove. He looked left and right while in the car trying to see everything that he can.

The Wilson family joined them for dinner since Henry forced Mr. Wilson to leave the kitchen just for a few hours so he can also rest The old man is a very dedicated hardworking chef.

"The doctor said I should eat more protein so I can walk sooner. Mr. Wilson, do you have something with lots of protein in this restaurant?" Jayson asked when the waiter handed him the menu.

Mr. Wilson chuckled at Jayson and he tousled his hair, "Yes young man, we have all the protein you need in here. Do you like beef?" 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝒆𝒘𝙚𝓫𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢

Jayson nodded and Mr. Wilson ordered the best steak for him and so is everyone. Amy stayed quiet and did not join much in the conversation that everyone is having and Henry noticed that.

At first, he thought that she was just sad that she will be leaving her family but Rei soon told him that one of his men reported to him that Vanessa approached Amy in the bakery and had tried to slap her.

He felt proud and angry. Proud that Amy was able to block Vanessa’s attack and of course very angry with his former lover. If Vanessa is not a family friend, he would definitely make her suffer and make her lose everything.

But his anger was immediately evaporated when Rei also told him what his men heard from Amy.

"One of the men said that he heard Amy saying she has no plan to leave you," Henry remembered Rei saying it like that and that put a wide smile on his face.

Henry held Amy’s hand and squeezed it tight to get her attention, "Something wrong love?"

Amy shook her head, "Not really, it’s just that I will miss them. I will be very busy as you know and I don’t know when am I going to see them again."

"Just say the word, and I will take you back here Amy. What’s the use of having my own private jet if I am not going to use it."

"I know that but both of us have responsibilities at work as well, so as much as I want to often see them, I must not."

Henry then pulled Amy closer to give her a hug of comfort. Whatever Amy decides, he will just be there with her.
