Chapter 257: Some Fun Tonight

In no time, the three men reach Bellory and saw Amy, Mary, and Sandra talking to a bunch of teenage girls. Henry wasted no time and made his way towards them to collect his ’coffee and pastry’ before going to the oil dig site.

Meanwhile, Rei walked toward Tony to coordinate further instructions and Anton took out his phone to call the dig site to inform them of the slight delay in their arrival.

Henry wrapped his arm around Amy’s waist, pulling her close to him, and greeted her with a loving kiss on the lips. To his surprise, the girls erupted into cheers, their enthusiasm puzzling him.

Observing Henry’s perplexed expression, Amy swiftly filled him in on the situation.

Amy explained to Henry, "Henry, these girls saw me on the news and were inspired by me. They want to take a picture with us because they admire us and want to learn how to defend themselves. They discovered that I’m your wife, and that’s why they’re excited to take a picture together."

"And?" Henry crossed his arms and looked at Amy, waiting for her to provide more information.

"What do you mean ’and’?" Amy stammered as she question Henry.

"You seem like there’s something more to it. So, besides taking pictures, what else do you need from me?" Henry asked.

Amy’s voice faltered, and she nervously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Mary couldn’t help but roll her eyes, sensing Amy’s shyness about what she was about to request from Henry.

Taking matters into her own hands, Mary mustered the courage to ask Henry directly, "Could you spare thirty minutes to accompany these girls? They have some questions for you. And--" Mary’s sentence was abruptly cut short by the excited shrieks of the teenage girls.

"That’s Anton Park, the blonde guy, and Rei Blair, the brunette guy!" Becca exclaimed, pointing at the two men who just entered the cafe.

Mary and Sandra turned their heads towards the entrance of the cafe, and their eyes widened as they beheld their men walking in side by side, both clad in their sharp business suits.

The way they moved exuded a certain charisma and confidence, reminiscent of characters from a movie scene. Their long strides showcased their masculinity and a hint of arrogance.

Startled, Mary and Sandra snapped back to reality as Amy playfully nudged their chins upward. Their jaws had unconsciously dropped in awe, and Amy couldn’t resist teasing them. "Stop that, ladies, no need to drool like those teenage girls. Let’s focus and act our age," Amy said with a mischievous smile, bringing Mary and Sandra back to their senses.

They quickly closed their dropped jaws, realizing they had been staring in awe. "Oh, come on, Amy. We were just appreciating our handsome partners," Mary retorted, a playful glimmer in her eyes.

"Can we also take a picture with them, Amy?" Lisa eagerly asked.

Amy glanced at Henry, who facepalmed himself in response. Summoning her courage, she asked him, "Could they take a picture with the three of you, and would you mind spending a little time with them while we take care of their orders and attend to other customers?"

"In case you’ve forgotten, we have to head to your land, remember?" Henry’s tone turned serious as he crossed his arms.

Amy gently grasped one of his muscular arms with both hands and gave it a soft squeeze. "Please? They’ve promised to become loyal patrons of the cafe and visit regularly," she pleaded.

"I can’t believe you’re selling me up to a group of teenage girls," Henry remarked, shaking his head in disbelief.

Amy pouted and gazed at Henry with pleading puppy eyes, hoping to sway him with her charm. He let out a sigh and rolled his eyes, finally giving in. "Alright, but remember this comes at a price. You’ll have to pay for it," he said, half-jokingly.

Amy frowned, her mind racing with various thoughts about what kind of payment Henry might be referring to. "How should I pay you then?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity and a hint of concern.

Henry leaned forward, drawing Amy closer, and whispered into her ear, "How about we have some fun tonight?" he murmured suggestively.

Amy’s eyes widened as she caught onto Henry’s suggestive tone and insinuation. She played along, pretending to be oblivious to his naughty plan. "Will it take long? We still have work tomorrow," she said.

"It will be a quickie, I mean, a quick one," Henry said as he waggle his brows playfully at her.

Amy chuckled at Henry’s slip of words, trying to conceal her amusement. "Alright, tonight we can have a quick play," she said, giving him a playful wink.

"Okay, it’s a deal," he said to Amy before turning his attention to the teenage girls who were now engaged in conversation with Anton and Rei.

"This won’t take long, right? We still have work to do," Henry said to the girls, capturing their attention.

"Yes, Mr. Handsome Welsh, could you please sit next to me?" Becca requested, causing Henry to raise an eyebrow. However, he complied with the girl’s request.

Amy couldn’t help but chuckle at the sight of Henry’s awkward expression as he took a seat next to Becca.

After the girls had their picture taken with Amy, she excused herself from the table to assist her staff, as it was their first day of operation and she wanted to ensure everything was running smoothly, leaving the three men at the mercy of the young girls.

Becca, Lisa, and their friends eagerly seized the opportunity to capture numerous pictures with their crushes and took the chance to ask them some questions as well.

Amy remained stationed behind the counter, diligently serving the customers and keeping a watchful eye on Henry, Anton, and Rei as they enthusiastically engaged in the interview with the girls, answering their questions to the best of their abilities.

When the girls’ agenda was done, they bid farewell and Amy did not forget to remind them of the deal they have. Becca promised to come back with the magazine with her.

The launch day of Bellory’s fourth branch proved to be a resounding success, but it left everyone, including Ava, Mitch, and Dave, exhausted. They had to keep a close eye on Amy, ensuring her safety without making the customers feel uncomfortable.

Exhausted and ready to finally rest, Ava flopped onto her bed. However, just as she thought she could unwind, her phone rang, surprising her with an unexpected caller. The voice on the other end was not who she had anticipated, but she couldn’t help but feel a surge of happiness that he had reached out to her.

[How was the opening day?] Ash asked.

"Exhausting," Ava replied with a sigh. "The opening day was incredibly successful. Amy became an instant celebrity, and the café was bustling with customers all day. Oh, and some good news too—Josephine was arrested this morning. It seems like things will be a bit easier for us now."

["I’m glad to hear that, but we need to stay alert,] Ash cautioned Ava.

[The origin of the money from Josephine raises concerns. We still don’t know where it came from, and there’s a possibility that someone else is pulling the strings behind the scenes. Josephine could have been a pawn in a larger scheme. Let’s not underestimate the situation and maintain our vigilance. Our priority is to ensure Amy’s safety and protect Bellory from any potential threats.] Ash warned Ava.

"Understood. I appreciate the reminder, and I’ll keep it in mind. That sums up my report for tonight. If there’s any significant information that requires your attention, I’ll be sure to inform you. Take care, and goodbye for–."

Ava was interrupted by Ash, who said, "Actually, that’s not why I called. I was just wondering if you’re free tomorrow since it’s Friday. Would you like to have dinner? I must apologize in advance, though, because it would be at my penthouse. I can’t leave my dog alone."

Ava burst into laughter, causing Ash to laugh along with her. "You sound like a single dad asking for a date but can’t leave his child alone," she remarked between giggles. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Well, I guess I am... for now. He will have a mommy someday. So are you coming?" Ash asked playfully.

"Sure count me in, what time should I go there?" Ava asked.

"No, I will pick you up after work. Can you go to the grocery with me too? I have been busy helping with the investigation lately that I have no time to shop," Ash uttered.

Ava couldn’t help but smile, feeling a sense of excitement at the thought of doing ordinary things with Ash. It was as if they were already a couple, enjoying each other’s company in the simplest of tasks. "Sure, no problem. I actually need to do some shopping as well, so I’ll be ready by six pm. Just pick me up in front of Bellory cafe," she replied, her voice filled with anticipation.
