CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 189: Comforting and Warm
"My poor children! Who could have done this to them!" Trev was trembling as he clenched his fist in too much anger. Even though Henry has a lot of competitors in business, no one dared to attack him physically yet threaten his life.
Welsh Holdings is the number one investment company in the country and that makes a lot of businesses try to gain his favor and not the other way around. The company had helped a lot of businesses that they almost worship Henry even if he is strict, he is still more generous compare to other investment companies out there.
Without him, their businesses would go down, that simple. Some who had tried to go against him had their company shut down once Henry pulled out his money from them. But Henry is forgiving as long as they would take the initiative to admit their mistakes and go by his rules, then he would invest again in those companies.
That is why Trev could not fathom who would have the guts to try to kill Henry and Amy in the open. The method used was so sloppy that it was so obvious and clear that it is an attempted murder. He just can’t think of any person who is brainless enough to do that.
"Don’t worry Uncle Trev, me and Rei will work on that," Anton is quite sure that the person responsible for it is someone they know, someone they are close with. He is sure that no business rival of Henry will resort to something like that.
Only someone who has a personal vendetta against Henry or Amy would boldly do it. He and Rei had already listed some people as suspects that they would investigate.
"I want to see Amy now, where is she? She needs me," Mary burst as she cries.
"Mary, let’s wait till Amy gets transferred. She’s more likely still sedated as of the moment, so going there will be useless. Rei and Ava are with Henry and they can handle it from there. How about you clear your schedule for tomorrow, then we go there together. What do you say?" Anton said as he try to calm her down.
"Ok, but I don’t understand. Amy is strong both physically and mentally, how can this happen?" Mary asked Mitch.
"The doctors said that according to Henry, Amy was already throwing up before they reached the island. So more likely she was already dehydrated even before they found a water source. Plus the stress and what they have been through must have increased the risk of her having a miscarriage," Mitch explained.
"So what are we going to do now?" Mary has always been there for her best friend and this is the first time that something big had happened that she is not beside her. She is married now and her husband is her immediate family, the one who will always be at her side first and foremost. And that makes her lonely, where is she supposed to place herself now in Amy’s life?
Uncle Trev was the one to answer her, "Go home and rest. Anton, make sure she will safely reach her home, or better yet stay with her. I am sure both of you are shaken as well. You can stay in Henry’s mansion tonight since it is already late.

"Anton, do need my presence here? I can show up while Henry is on leave," Trev added.
"I was actually going to ask you about that. The funds for Bellory’s bank loan payment will be out this week and Henry wanted to start with the drilling in Amy’s land to confirm if it’s really petroleum that’s underneath. And with Henry gone in the meantime, I need someone to take over some of his daily tasks while I and Rei are out of the office."
"Alright, I’ll call for a board meeting tomorrow then. And if it’s reviewing and signing of documents every day, this old man can surely do it."
Mitch and Trev went their separate ways after that, leaving Anton and Mary. Anton really wanted to hug Mary while she was crying to comfort her but he is not sure if Mary would have wanted that in front of other people.
He moved closer to her and slowly wrapped her in his arms. Mary who had already stopped crying a while ago, started crying again.
Anton’s body was so warm and comforting that she couldn’t help herself but get lost in the moment. Her heart aches for her best friend. When she thought that finally, Amy will be happy again after so many years, but then met another misfortune.
The worst part is, she’s not by her side because she got Henry now. So where does that leave her? She asked herself.
And it was as if Anton had read her mind, he tightened his hug, and that made her feel at home. Right... She is not alone even if Amy has got a new person in her life, she got Anton. And this man with her is making her feel relaxed, safe, and secure while in his arms.
And finally, that warm feeling made her stop crying. She felt a lot better now, knowing that there is still someone that she can count on.
"Thank you," Mary uttered.
"What for?" Anton has no idea what Mary is being grateful for.
"Your hug. I love your hug. It’s comforting and warm. It made me relax and less sad," Mary explained as she wipe her tears.
"Oh that," Anton scratches his nape and blushes like a teenager.
Mary chuckled at how Anton’s cheeks turned pink. ’Cute...’ Mary thought.
"By the way, it’s midnight already, and my penthouse is nearer than the mansion. Do you want to sleep in my place instead? I mean if you just want to, if not I will drive you to Henry’s house, no problem at all. But I have a guestroom where you can stay at a–"
Anton was not able to finish his very long explanation for Mary put her fingers on his lips to stop him from talking.
"Shh... I accept. We are both tired and haven’t got any sleep at all. It is safer to stay in your place than to drive all the way to the mansion," Mary then smiled at him, making him release the breath that he didn’t know he was holding.
Mary is a hard nut to crack and he is being careful with his words, and he is just thankful that she is considerate enough to accept his suggestion.
