CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 176: The Little Girl
The day that they don’t want to come has finally arrived, and it is the day that they have to go back home. Their honeymoon is over and now they have to face reality again.
Yesterday, Amy and Henry stayed the whole day and night in their villa to just spend their last night together before going back to their lives.
Henry will finally get the fifty percent share in Welsh Holdings that his father put on hold until he gets married. Amy will be able to pay off her loan once Henry processes the additional investment money that they will put on her land.
But the thing that they are most excited about is the opening of the first ten expansion stores of Bellory Café. It will be a whole month event since they plan to open it one after the other every three days, so Amy and Mary can facilitate all of them.
"Are you excited to go back home, love?" Henry asked while they walk towards their jet.
Amy pouted as she hug one of Henry’s arms, "I don’t want to go home. If only we could stay here forever and hide from the world I would."
Henry chuckled and replied, "Someday I will grant that wish of yours, I promise."
"We hope you would visit us again, Mr. And Mrs. Welsh. I hope you have a great time in our resort," greeted Anika, their personal attendant.
"We certainly did, right, love?" Henry nodded at Amy’s question and Amy added, "Thanks, we will surely come back here."
"Has the engineer double-checked everything that I told him to do?" Henry had already checked their jet yesterday but he still wanted to make sure that an expert would double-check everything. He will be flying with Amy and the last thing that he wants is to put her life at risk.
"Yes, Mr. Welsh, he assured the management that everything was in good condition before he left early this morning," Anika replied.
After bidding farewell to everyone, the two boarded their jet and flew back home.
"Ah, I really like your jet so comfy," Amy complimented as she leaned back on the passenger seat.
"Not just mine, love, it is ours, remember, Mrs. Welsh?" Henry reminded her with a smile.
"Yeah, I always forget. By the way how long before we arrive there?"
"Just enough for you to rest, you can sleep if you want. I will just wake you up when we get there."
"That’s fine, I don’t want you to be lonely when I sleep," Amy heard him chuckle as she looked out the window. She saw the island become smaller and smaller as they fly away.
Their journey was smooth sailing and Amy couldn’t help but admire the surroundings beneath them.
Amy closed her eyes and heard a tiny voice behind her, so she quickly turned around. She saw a little girl standing not far from her. She has dark blue eyes with curly ash-brown hair.
She looked around and saw trees around them, she looked behind her and saw the sea, they were on an island. Amy frowned, confused why she was back on the island when they were in the vision jet earlier.
"Mommy!" The little girl shouted.
"Are you lost, darling?" Amy asked as she walked towards the girl.
Amy kneeled to level herself with her. To her surprise, the little girl hugged her tight. A smile appeared on Amy’s upon feeling the girl’s warm embrace.
"Are you lost?" Amy asked and the little girl just shook her head and bit her finger as she stared at Amy’s eyes.
"Where are your parents?" Amy asked again but the girl just simply stared at her.
Amy smiled and placed her palm on the little girl’s chubby cheek. "You shouldn’t roam around the island by yourself. Do you want me to help you find your mommy?"
The girl removes her finger from her mouth and places it on Amy’s chest. She looked down to see what the little girl did and saw her cute tiny hands on the spot where her heart is.
"Amy! Amy!" Amy jolted at the screaming voice of Henry. She looked around and she was back on the plane with him. She looked at Henry who was in panic.
"Are you awake now? We need to crash land. I am losing control of the jet. The emergency autoland is not working. I will release the airframe parachute once we reach the required altitude. Amy! Are you listening?" Henry yelled in panic as he try his best to still control the plane.
Amy was fazed about what is happening, she was with a little girl a while ago and now she was on the plane with Henry. When she finally realized that it was just a dream she pulled the parachutes under her seat and hurriedly put it on.
"What are you doing? No need for that, this plane has a parachute system put your seatbelt back on and brace yourself!" Henry shouted once more. But Amy did not listen and continued putting on her parachute.
After she was done, she pulled another one and forcefully put it on Henry but he resisted.
"Just put the goddamn thing on!" Amy was in no position to be relaxed and calm. She was panicking and in a hurry to make sure Henry is wearing one too.
Amy unbuckled Henry’s seatbelt and grabbed his arm to force him to wear it. Thankfully he obeyed and Amy grabbed two of their backpacks at the back before returning to her seat. She threw one to Henry’s lap while she wore the other on her front.
When they were about to reach the altitude where the parachute was programmed to be released, they heard the automated system announce it and were instructed to fasten their seatbelts, so they did.
Henry held her hand as they brace themselves for the sudden impact once the automated system opens the parachute cap.
The next thing Amy heard is a loud beeping sound of the plane’s system and Henry cursing loudly.
"What is happening, Henry?" Amy asked in a panic.
"The airframe system failed," Henry then unbuckled his seatbelt and peeped by the window as their plane tilted to the side.
"F*CK!!! We have to jump!" Henry shouted as he unbuckle Amy’s seatbelt next.
"What? Why?"
"Some of the paracords were cut off!"
