CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 150: Build a Family

"Welcome back home and congratulations Mrs. Welsh, Mr. Welsh. We have made a bit of change to your room and en suite," Demi beamed upon welcoming the couple, she quite excited herself.

She and Charles had been working in the Welsh household for years before Henry was born. They were one of the few people who witness the successes, the heartaches, and everything that Henry had gone through.

Ever since he was born they were already fond of him and treated him like a son and Henry treated them like a family too. Now that he is married, it is like they gained a daughter too.

"Demi I told you to just call me Amy. You too Charles, no need for formality when it is just us here," Amy said as she welcome Demi’s congratulatory hug.

"Let us see the surprise that you are talking about," Henry exclaimed before Charles led them to their room.

The four of them excitedly walk toward the couple’s room and when Amy and Henry got inside, their eyes sparkle with joy at what they saw.

"When did you do all these?" Henry asked with a voice full of amazement.

No drastic structural changes happened but his room which was monochromatic is now looking lively with added colors and textures. The previous blinds were replaced with curtains and a modern minimalist carpet was added in the center.

The previous black polyester couch was then replaced by a white leather sofa. The bed was also replaced with a bigger one. A few more vases with fresh flowers were added and the wall behind the bed was replaced with vertical fluted wooden panels.

"I asked for Theo’s help and he sent thirty men and women over the weekend to do everything that we requested," Charles explained briefly.

"Where did you get the money?" Henry asked since the changes made surely require money if not a lot, surely at least not less than thirty thousand dollars.

"I do not spend everything in the monthly budget Sir, I had saved some of it so I don’t have to ask you all the time if changes or repairs are needed in the mansion," Charles answered.

Henry smirked, feeling proud of their butler. He pats Charles’s back before checking the changes once again.

"Go check your walk-in closet, Amy," Demi suggested and Amy immediately did. Their walk-in closet is now divided into his and hers. There were new built-ins that are separating her stuff from Henry’s.

After that, Amy went to their en suite and saw that everything stayed the same except for the vanity. A makeup area was added in the corner for her. She also noticed the new indoor plants placed there making the bathroom inviting and refreshing.

"Thank you so much, Demi, I love everything. Thanks to you both for making the changes and now I am officially part of this room, this house, and this family," Amy was teary-eyed as she inspect everything around, it was still the same room that she and Henry had been using for the past few weeks but it feels different. 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖

The changes made her feel that she belong in that place as if the room was built not just for Henry but also for her.

"Oh come here dear, no need to shed tears for it even if it’s happy tears. Now we’ll let you enjoy your redecorated room and rest. Henry let me remind you that it is your first day as husband and wife, so please stay at home and do not go to work today," Demi yammered for she heard Henry earlier instruct one of the maids to bring coffee to his study which means that he is planning to work just the day after getting married.

Amy understand that Demi was just concerned about them since she is like a mother to Henry as well but then again both Henry and her, needed to go back to work as soon as possible since they have a lot of pending work that needed to be addressed.

But before Amy can say what she had in mind, Henry beat her to it.

"We will have a proper honeymoon perhaps next week. This week we have to process all the documents that we need," Henry explained as they all walk back to the room.

Charles smiled faintly, he knows Henry is right but he wants him to enjoy at least the first week of his married life. "That old Trevor better help you with the transfer of your shares or else he will hear from me."

The three laugh at Charles for he sounded like a real father who is looking after his son and that made Henry happy and he felt the love that surrounded him.

After the two left, Amy slumped on their new bed, she was tired because of Henry but she had forgotten all about it after seeing their newly redecorated room.

"You are so lucky you have Demi and Charles," she said when Henry joined her.

"Yes, I agree. But you are lucky too, you have Jayson’s grandparents and Mary’s parents taking care of you," Henry placed his arm under Amy’s neck to serve as her pillow as he hugs her.

"I know but it’s different, they don’t live with me and were usually busy with other things. But I agree that I am lucky because I have you, my love."

Henry smiled at her before kissing her on the lips. The reality of them being husband and wife is slowly sinking in as they go back to their daily lives.

"Love..." Henry uttered but then paused. He is not sure if what will he request is too selfish or not but as a couple it is just right that they make decisions about their lives together.

"Yes? What is it?" Amy asked after waiting for Henry to continue talking but nothing followed.

Henry sighed, it is now or never. ’Here goes nothing,’ he thought.

"Uhm, i-is it t-too early if I will ask you to stop taking birth control?" Henry stammered as he feel nervous asking her that question because he doesn’t know if she will agree with him or not.

"You want us to have a baby?" she asked.

"Mmm-hmm," Henry nodded and said nothing else as he stare at Amy nervously.

Amy grin as she stares back at him, "Okay."

She was also thinking of the same thing but was also afraid to open the topic with Henry for they might not be on the same page.

Henry’s eyes widened with surprise and joy. He hugged Amy so hard that she cough up.

"I can’t breathe, Henry!" Amy blurted making Henry release her from his embrace.

"Sorry love, I am just too happy. I thought you wouldn’t agree at all. It is a surprise for me that you said yes."

"Well, I don’t see any reason why we should prolong it. I love you and you love me. We are now married and I would be happy to build a family with you," Amy said as she hugged him back.

"Yes! That’s what I am thinking as well. So... Do you want to start now?"

Amy: "...!"
