CEO's Contract Obsession-Chapter 146: Putting Things Together

The night was young and people were enjoying the festivities. Butler Charles and head housekeeper Demi was also invited to the wedding. They have been a huge part of Henry’s life and they are family to him already.

"Are you looking for something?"

While all the guests are having fun, Sandra on the other hand were looking for the newlyweds and can’t seem to find them.

"Yes, Rei. I am looking for Amy. Jayson called while they were dancing so I went to one of the rooms to answer the call. The kids don’t know yet about the wedding, but when I got back Amy and Henry were gone. Do you know where they are?"

"Yes, I know, but the place is off-limits. You know, they are newlyweds," Rei replied with a thin smile.

"Oh, right. I’ll just send a text message then that Amy is already sleeping," Sandra then unlocked her phone and typed something as Rei still stood in front of her with his hands in his pockets.

"There, done. I hope it’s nothing urgent. The boy doesn’t want to say it to me. Their relationship with Amy is amazing, even before the accident. The kids are very close to her. They even want to spend more time with her than their parents and cry when they have to say goodbye to Amy," Sandra chuckled recalling those good memories. So much had happened that she never thought Amy and the kids would be happy again.

"How about you? Do you like kids?" Rei ask which surprised Sandra at the sudden question.

"I-I guess? I am actually not sure. I like Jayson and Jena since they are family. But I think I haven’t really thought of other kids. But I am sure if it’s my kids, I’ll like them for sure," The two laugh at the answer of Sandra.

Rei then walked towards the garden after gesturing to Sandra to follow him. The two walk in silence under the moonlight and the stars as they enjoy the warm lights and flowers around them.

When Rei saw a bench in just the perfect spot, he led Sandra to sit on it with him. The two sat there awkwardly as they wait for each other to utter the first word.

"Sandra..." Rei finally broke the silence as she shifted his position to look at her.

"Mmm?" Sandra briefly looked at him before looking away again.

"I-I w-wanted to know you more, i-if you will allow me to," Rei stammered as his heart beats so fast with what he just said. He wanted to say a lot but that’s the only thing that came out of his mouth.

"Okay," she tersely replied.

Rei was a bit disappointed at how short her answer was so he decided to explain further, thinking that she might not have fully understood what he means.

"When I said I want to know more about you. I mean like date you, coz I like you, Sandra," Rei then hold one of her hands and she smiled at him.

"I know, Rei."

"Y-You k-know? How? Did Henry or Anton tell you?" Rei’s brows furrowed at the thought.

But Sandra laughed at him making him more confused, "Of course, they didn’t. You are just too obvious these past few days. I was actually thinking what is taking you so long to tell me? Or if you have changed your mind and realized that you don’t really like me."

"What? Godsss no, I really like you. I mean at first, I was attracted to you, but when I get to spend some time with you, I realized that it was just not infatuation. I really like you. So I hope that someday you would like me too," Rei then lifted her hand and kissed the back of her palm.

"I think I already do Rei. But give me time. You are a nice person which I like so, I am sure in time I will be sure of what I feel about you. Can you do that?"

"Yes, of course! I can, I am a patient person so you can count on it. I will not rush you."

Sandra smirked and did the unexpected, she kissed Rei on the cheeks before intertwining her hand with his as she lean her back on the bench. This made Rei blush, he was stunned at her bold move but he definitely loved it.

"You know, you might not believe me but I really don’t date. I mean, I haven’t been with a lot of women before. The ones I have been with were a very long time ago, I was still a teenager back then. So I will apologize in advance if I might not be able to give you the perfect date that you have in mind," Rei was so embarrassed to admit that in front of Sandra.

However, he doesn’t want to mess up his chance with her. It is very rare for him to like someone and she is one in a million. He would do everything just to make this one go smoothly.

"I figured," Sandra giggled and covered her mouth trying to suppress her laughter.

"What? Am I that readable of a person?" Rei doesn’t know if Sandra is really good at reading people or if it’s just that he is just too obvious. But he doesn’t mind. He thought that it is actually good since Sandra would be able to see his true intentions and with that, he hopes that she will like him back.

"Not really. I am just good at putting things together, like a puzzle or a problem in an equation. So speaking of date, what do you have in mind?"

And once again, Rei was caught off guard. Sandra has that effect on him, and he loves that she is unpredictable. Being a strategist, what he experiences with Sandra is something new and he doesn’t mind at all, he is actually enjoying every moment of it.

"I-I actually will still think of something this week if you’re free on the weekends," Rei blurted out, and he wish that Sandra would buy it since he really doesn’t have anything in mind yet.

"How about later? Are you free? Henry would surely allow you to be late tomorrow at work because of today. So how would you like to go with me later after the party? I know a place near here, and I would like to show it to you. But there’s a catch," Sandra gave out her sweetest smile, hoping that it would convince Rei.

"Catch?" he asked.

"Yes, I will drive. Since you don’t know where is it," she said.

"You can just tell me where it is and I’ll drive us there," Rei was not comfortable with allowing Sandra to drive since he thinks a gentleman should always drive for a lady.

"Now where’s the fun in that? Unless I drive, we will not go. So is it a yes or a no?" Sandra persistently offered.

"I guess I don’t have a choice then," Rei rubbed his nape as he accepted defeat and Sandra happily nodded at him.
