Chapter 130: Lost a Friend

Everything had happened so fast. Just right after Amy realized that Ash is kissing her, in the next scene she saw, Ash was thrown to the opposite side where she was and Mary is already beside her helping her to stand up.

She looked back at Ash and there she saw Rei and Dave holding Ash while Anton and Ava were holding Henry. Her eyes were blurry with tears. She heard Ash and Henry shouting but whatever they were saying didn’t register for all she hears is herself crying and her heart beating rapidly.

"Girls please stay with her," Mary said to Sandra, Maya, and Mitch.

"You!" Mary said when she walked up to Ash before punching him hard in the face not just once but twice. Everyone freeze at what Mary did, even Henry stopped struggling from Anton and Ava’s hold.

Mary shook her hand in pain, but her heart hurts more than her fist. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"We trusted you with our life! Why do you have to do this? Perhaps this is the reason why Amy’s heart never fell in love with you despite all your efforts. Whatever her mind cannot understand, her heart feels..." Mary’s tears started falling down as she continue, "that you’re evil deep inside. You are a big disappointment, Ash. Don’t ever show your face to us again. I might kill you next time."

And with that, Rei and Dave released Ash for he is not fighting anymore and slumped to the ground while clenching his fists.

"Amy asked me to book a suite here. You can bring her there, let me show you the room," Mitch said to Henry.

But when Henry walked over to Amy, she refused, "I will go with Mary, please attend to your guests. Come to me when your party is over. I don’t think I can still go back there. I’m a mess and I’m in no condition to face other people right now."

"Love, please let me go with you," Henry doesn’t want to leave Amy after seeing how swollen and red her eyes are.

When he did not see Ash in the banquet hall after Ava said that Amy went to the rooftop garden to get some fresh air, Henry got a bad feeling about it and he was right.

As soon as he got there he saw Amy struggling from Ash’s hold that caused her to drop to the ground and he heard what Ash said to her. He saw Ash kiss Amy and he lost it. If the others were not with him, he might have thrown Ash off the rooftop right then and there.

Amy wrapped her arms around his waist and rested her head on his chest, "I will be ok, Mary will be with me. Please go back to the party that I prepared for you. Mary and I lost a friend today, let us grieve and cry our hearts out for a while. When you come back to me, I will let you comfort me. Please, Henry."

Henry sighed deeply. He knows that Amy has a point but he doesn’t want to leave her, but she is already pleading and he knows that he has to let her go.

Henry hugged her tight before pulling away, "Ok, love. I will come to you as soon as I wrap up the party," he then hold her cheeks and kiss her forehead.

The girls went with Amy and Mary, to accompany them to the suite before they go back to the party while the men stayed there. They are not yet done with Ash.

As soon as the ladies were out of the garden, Henry turned around to look at Ash but Anton held his arm firmly, trying to stop his friend from doing something that he might regret later.

"Let go, Anton, I won’t hit him. I want him to feel the fist of Mary for as long as he could."

Anton nodded but he walked with Henry to where Ash is who was still kneeling on the floor.

"Do not ever come near Amy and Mary again. Whatever you are planning, you will not win. Do not attempt to do more than what you already did," Henry exhorted.

To everyone’s surprise, Ash scoffed and chuckled as he stood up and glare at Henry.

"Are you threatening me? Do you think I will be scared of your threats?" Ash crowed.

But Henry smirked at him while he slid his hands into his trouser’s pocket and tersely said,

"Yes."

He then turned around and left, Rei and Dave soon followed, leaving Anton and Ash there.

"Do what Henry says, or you will not only answer to him but to me as well. Show your face to Mary again and you will surely face me," Anton warned before leaving Ash.

Ash stood there as he watch everybody leave. He just f*cking hate himself right now, at how he acted towards Amy.

He regretted his actions instantly but he already did it and it cannot be undone. He just hurt the person that only mattered in his life.

How could he, why did he do that, was it what they call desperation? He just can’t understand himself anymore. The years that he worked hard for are gone for good and it is because of him and no one else.

Once again he slumped on the floor and cried. Not only that he lost Amy for good, but Mary as well. She was like a sister to him for he never had one. All their happy memories flashed in his mind.

He felt the corner of his lips sting as his tears fall down. He touched it and looked at his thumb. He saw blood, it was the part of his face that Mary had punched twice.

Ironically he smiled weakly as he lick his own blood and tasted the metallic taste of it. ’She is a strong feisty woman as always. I’m, glad she’s at Amy’s side,’ Ash thought to himself.

Ash’s phone rang and when he looked at it, it was his father, Lucas Brighton, so he answered it right away.

[Where are you? Amy is not here, are you with her?]

"No Dad, I’m going home," Ash did not wait for his dad to reply back as he ended the call. He stared at his phone’s wallpaper and wiped his tears.

"I am sorry, Amy," he murmured before turning off his phone and walk away.
