Chapter 116: Till He Drops

The men, took care of grilling the meat and seafood while the women prepared the table and other dishes that they have for dinner. It was a joyous night, Henry can get used to it. He throws glances at Amy every now and then watching her smile and laugh with Mary and Sandra.

It’s been years since he had a small party like this. Well, it’s not really an official party but with how much food the girls prepared for dinner, he can already call it a party in its own way.

Henry felt elated being surrounded by people he loves and who are important to him. He wanted this kind of feeling every day.

"Stop staring man, Amy will melt for sure with how you are intensely looking at her right now. You should see yourself in the mirror," Anton remarked.

"I love her so much," Henry said nonchalantly while still staring at Amy. It was as if he was in a trance and blurted words that he did not know came out of his own mouth.

Rei and Anton looked at him and then at each other after seeing Henry lost in his own world staring at the woman he loves, she is his world.

"We can see that," Anton commented before sipping from the beer bottle that he is holding. "Seems like you are ready to propose to her," Anton added.

And that caught Henry’s attention back to them. He sighed, opened his mouth as if he was gonna say something but then close it again with another sigh.

"What? Say it already," Rei uttered while he was flipping over the meat he was grilling.

"I want to, but I don’t think she’s ready. I don’t want to scare her," Henry smeared the barbecue sauce on the meat after Rei flips them over, and added, "She might say no."

"You’ll never know until you ask. What if she’s ready and she is just waiting for you to ask her," Anton enthusiastically encouraged Henry. From what he can see, Amy is just as in love with Henry as Henry is in love with her.

The way the two look at each other, there’s no doubt that they will hear wedding bells soon.

"I will give her more time, once I’m sure, I will definitely pop the question. You can count on that," Henry gave them a reassuring smile.

Soon everyone settled on the dining table to enjoy the fruits of their labor. The weather was great so they decided to eat outdoors, al fresco style.

"I didn’t know you guys are good at grilling. These are delicious, we should do this again," Sandra commented while slicing the spareribs on her plate.

"Rei did all of it, we just do whatever he asks us to do or hand over to him what he needs," Henry said as he pats Rei’s back.

He knows that Rei likes Sandra. He and Anton are trying to put up a good word for their best friend hoping that it will help.

"Wow, they make a perfect match. Our Sandra here is good at making any vegetable dish so that makes them perfect!" Mary exclaimed.

Making everyone laugh at her lame joke. Amy almost spat out the soda that she was drinking.

"That is so lame Mary, so flimsy that it made us laugh."

"I’m not joking, it is the truth!" Mary said. And when she looked at Sandra, she instantly shut her mouth seeing how red she is.

Even though she is best friends with Amy, it doesn’t mean that she is brave enough to do to Sandra everything that she can do to Amy. They are just two different people with different personalities.

While Amy is more open-minded, Sandra is shy and does not open up easily. So Mary tones down her teasing a bit when it comes to Sandra.

"By the way why are you here Anton? I thought you have work to do at the farm," Henry remembered that Anton was supposed to check how things are going on the farm before the other branches of Bellory opens.

"Mr. Briggs already took care of it. Plus Theo, Sandra, and Maya are very efficient at what they do, there’s nothing more I can do there."

"Speaking of the farm, the organic fertilizer that we bought is very effective. The coffee trees are now flowering so I think we can stock up a lot before the second phase of the expansion happens," Sandra stated.

"I also did my homework. Regarding Amy’s barren land," Mary said before drinking her soda. She didn’t know that she caught the attention of everyone except Sandra when she mention the barren land.

She continued slicing her food as she spoke once again, "I saw this technology call hydroponics and aeroponics. I think we can do that on that land since it doesn’t need permanent structures, so the bank will allow it. What do you think?"

She was about to put the meat in her mouth when she noticed everyone was looking at her while furrowing their brows. She put down her food on her plate again and ask, "Why do you all look like that? Did I say something wrong?"

Amy looked at Henry, and as if he understood what she means, he nodded at her.

"Mary, Sandra, I think I should tell you something about that land," Amy was the one who spoke.

"WHAT?!" Mary almost knocked down the dishes and glasses near her when she slammed both her hands on the table.

She was furious after Amy, Henry, and Anton told them everything. She can’t believe that Ash’s father would do that. She and Amy grew up knowing the man as a loving and kind father not just to Ash but to them as well.

He never showed them any negative feelings or actions that will make them doubt his intentions. But what she’s most angry about is that Ash is involved too.

How can he just simply sign the marriage contract without telling Amy? She felt deceived and betrayed. She used to like Ash for Amy, she did play cupid for them so that she can see them both happy in each other’s arms.

But with this revelation, she might be the one who will punch Ash first and kick him hard till he drops.
