Jing Tian blinked in confusion. She could tell this much by the way Gu Ting was behaving that something was off. But regarding the real matter, Jing Tian could not have even the slightest of the idea. 

The smile stayed still on Jing Lihua's lips as she tilted her head slightly. She was intently observing Gu Ting reactions. After hearing what Jing Lihua had to say, he was thrown into a state of stupor. Jing Lihua knew at this point, all sorts of possibilities would be circulating in his mind.

This dress; she had specifically worn it to prove her point. 

The dress was a practical proof that Liam Anderson's relationship with her was really that friendly as she claimed; she was not bluffing to scare Gu Ting. Otherwise, he would not have divulged customer detail to her.

Thus, wearing that dress put weight to the warning she was going to pass.

Gu Ting tended to be in a state of denial, at first. 'How could I be so unlucky? Did that bastard tell her anything? No! She must be lying. But...the dress she is wearing proves that she indeed has a relationship with Liam Anderson. Damn it!'

In took him some time to recover. 

"Brother Gu, what is it about?" Jing Tian was fairly puzzled. Wasn't Gu Ting a fearless man? What had him so much frightened?

"Leave." Gu Ting's voice turned considerably cold. 

This startled Jing Tian. He had never talked to Jing Tian in this manner. No matter how angry he was, he would speak softly to Jing Tian.

"Gu Ting, at least tell me what is it about, alright? We could work it out together." He said softly, intending to evoke his gentle side.

Gu Ting snapped. "Did you not listen to what I said?" With a furious face, he grabbed onto Jing Tian arms forcefully and barked angrily. "Leave while I ask nicely. I don't like women who are disobedient!" 

A few of the guests who stood nearby picked on the loud volume. They turned their heads to see what was wrong.

Incredulous, Jing Tian stepped back. 

How could this happen? She was more than certain that Gu Ting was smitten by her. How could he suddenly change so much? She glanced in Jing Lihua's direction.

Her eyes met Jing Lihua momentarily and she paused. Then, as if, she arrived at the conclusion that Jing Lihua was the reason for all evil in the world, her eyes swelled with anger. With that, without saying another word, she stomped away.

Once Jing Tian disappeared into a distance, Gu Ting stepped closer to Jing Lihua and commanded. "Come with me, I want to talk with you."

Jing Lihua silently raised her eyebrow. "What a sense of entitlement. What makes you think I'll go with you?"

"Miss Jing! Don't test my patience. I am only holding back because you are Tian'er sister!"

"Oh, what an honor? I would actually want you not to hold back at all." Jing Lihua languidly replied stroking fussy. The unconcerned expression on her face and that small smile on her lips were really infuriating!

Gu Ting was so enraged that he could murder that woman with his bare hands if they were alone. Sadly, they weren't. In a defeated tone, he said. "I just want to talk, alright!"

"We can talk here." Jing Lihua laughed. She was not a naive, immature woman. She knew very well that going with him would be equivalent to suicide. 

Gu Ting didn't know what to do. He had no choice. If he didn't stop this woman... he didn't want to think of the consequences. "How much do you know?" He directly asked.

Jing Lihua's lips tilted up. "Enough to have your family disown you."

"Your words alone would not have any effect!"

"But a simple blood test would surely do." She rebutted.

Gu Ting was helpless. It was because she was right. If she managed to ignite a rumor, his grandparents would not hesitate to conduct a blood test. In less than a few days, the truth would be out. Once they learned that he did drugs, no one would be able to save him. Not even his father.

Since Gu Ting was an illegitimate child, his grandparents have always disliked him. In fact, if he said they were in constant pursuit of an excuse to kick him out of the family then it won't be wrong. 

If not for his father's support and his stepmother's kind acceptance, today, he won't be enjoying the riches of his family. 

"What do you want?" Gu Ting glowered in Jing Lihua's direction.

"Simple. Don't mess with me and we will have no problems," Jing Lihua's eyes glimmered with a warning. "Take a step against me and everything will be revealed."

With that said, Jing Lihua walked away not giving him an opportunity to say another word.

Once she disappeared into the crowd, Gu Ting walked away from the venue. In his hotel suite, he ended up smashing the furniture. "F**k!" His eyes were red in anger. "What does she think she is? Threatening me like this! does she think I will let her off? That disgusting, whore, bitch!"

Once, he was adopted by his father at the age of fifteen, he couldn't sit well with the sudden leap from a poor to a rich lifestyle. He could not adjust well. And that added with the fact that his father heavily doted on him. Thus, his personality turned out to be pretty trashy.

That was the reason his grandparents disliked him. That was the reason he did drugs and had a licentious lifestyle.

And now, when a woman threatened him, how could he endure this? How could he endure to let a lesser being suppress him?
