Caught in Affairs with Superstar-Chapter 999 - 592: Banquet (Part 5)
Zhou Yun nodded and said, "It’s all wrapped up. After you guys finished, it was just me, Yuk Chu, and Xin Zhike left filming, shooting from early morning until late at night. It was exhausting."
He Wenyun said, "Actually, there was plenty of time. You’re just pushing yourself too hard."
Zhou Yun nodded, "I have to admit."
He Wenyun said, "But you kept it from me really well."
She chuckled.
Zhou Yun didn’t understand why He Wenyun was saying this and looked at her.
He Wenyun said, "When I asked you if you would act in ’Chinese Warrior,’ were you already getting ready for ’Killing Song’?"
Zhou Yun hadn’t expected He Wenyun to bring this up.
She said, "At the time, nothing was finalized, so I didn’t make it public."
"Of course, I understand," He Wenyun said, "I was just joking."
Zhou Yun said, "I haven’t formally congratulated you yet on successfully auditioning and landing the role in ’Chinese Warrior.’"
He Wenyun shook her head and said, "Actually, I’d rather be acting in ’Killing Song’ than this film."
"Huh?" Zhou Yun was once again stunned.
She hadn’t expected He Wenyun to say that.
He Wenyun said, "I heard ’Killing Song’ is directed by Ou Friesol? He’s a director I’ve always wanted to work with."
Zhou Yun shook her head and said, "Regarding who the director is, I haven’t heard anything definitive yet, so I don’t know who it is."
He Wenyun asked in surprise, "Huh? Could it really be someone else? I heard he’s already set to be the director, and he himself is interested in directing this movie."
Zhou Yun said nothing.
It’s not surprising that He Wenyun, who has experience in Hollywood, would have more information channels than Zhou Yun.
"Anyway, we’re friends now, right?" He Wenyun suddenly asked.
Zhou Yun was surprised at He Wenyun’s directness, but she replied, "Of course."
"Good, since we’re friends, let’s not worry about those media provocations anymore," He Wenyun said, "To be honest, I really admire you. I used to think highly of myself and never thought anyone my age acted better than me, but I really admire you."
If anyone else had heard He Wenyun say such things, they might mock her for overestimating herself.
After all, from any perspective, He Wenyun didn’t have the standing to say "I admire you" to Zhou Yun.
These words carried the tone of an elder praising a junior, something not typically said by someone seemingly weaker to someone seemingly stronger.
But He Wenyun said it openly, without caring, as if it was no big deal.
Zhou Yun understood what He Wenyun meant and nodded, "I also admire you. We had too few scenes together in ’Deep Sea,’ and with the crew rushing things, we couldn’t fully enjoy acting opposite each other. I hope we get the chance to really work together someday."
He Wenyun nodded.
"Alright, it’s a deal."
Zhou Yun smiled and nodded.
The two of them chatted for quite a while, and at this mostly European and American dinner party, they were among the few Asians and were both rising stars recently in the spotlight.
Many people’s eyes lingered on the two of them.
Zhou Lan had Zheng Xiaojue take pictures of them talking intimately.
If anyone tried to say online that the two of them didn’t get along, such photos would naturally provide strong rebuttal.
