Chapter 969: Chapter 587: Unexpected Situation (Part 3)

Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu both showed up at the set to film, which surprised everyone there.

Cui Xidong confirmed with both of them before filming started.

"Are you really okay? Don’t push yourselves too hard. If it’s not okay, just tell me directly," Cui Xidong said. "Our schedule is still manageable. Even if you need a couple of days in the hospital, we won’t go over time."

Zhou Yun waved her hand and said, "Director, let’s go."

Yuk Chu sat on the side, wrapped in a blanket, holding a hand warmer, and nodded weakly.

Usually, Xin Zhike needed a few takes to get into character, and he never felt embarrassed about blowing a line because he’s always kept a low profile. Acting alongside Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu, he believed that messing up was no big deal since he was just a newcomer.

But today, Xin Zhike felt a bit ashamed to think like that. He considered himself a man; he couldn’t afford to hold them back at a time like this. So he focused intently on his script, planned how to act his part, and surprisingly, got into character in just one take.

What surprised Xin Zhike more was that the moment Cui Xidong shouted "action," Zhou Yun’s weariness instantly disappeared.

She seemed to return to normal, acting just like she usually did.

This made Xin Zhike pause for a moment.

After snapping back, he realized he had zoned out.

However, Cui Xidong didn’t call cut.

Xin Zhike had never reacted so quickly before. He immediately adjusted his state and continued acting, more immersed than ever.

How could he hold Zhou Yun back at such a moment!

The scene passed in one go.

Some minor flaws could be handled through editing later.

Cui Xidong got exactly the effect he wanted; both actors delivered.

Cui Xidong clapped his hands and said, "Great job. It’s a wrap."

The whole crew applauded.

Zhou Yun smiled, bowed to everyone, and then reverted to her weary state.

Xin Zhike wanted to help her, but she made a "no" gesture and said, "Stay away from me; I don’t want to infect you."

Xin Zhike realized that he was now the only healthy lead in the cast. He really couldn’t afford to fall ill; otherwise, there’d be no one left to carry the team.

He nodded.

Zheng Xiaojue jogged up to deliver a water bottle to Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun took a sip of warm water, feeling much better.

Just holding it together to act and deliver lines had made her throat excruciatingly painful.

At this moment, the doctor arranged by Xu Jinbo arrived.

Xu Jinbo spoke with Cui Xidong about pausing filming to have Zhou Yun and Yuk Chu’s health checked.

After the check-up, the doctor said Yuk Chu’s situation was a bit serious and recommended she go to the hospital right away.

With such a recommendation, Xu Jinbo insisted that Yuk Chu go to the hospital despite her claims of being able to hang on.

The day’s filming didn’t achieve the planned progress, but even so, it exceeded everyone’s expectations.

Zhou Yun said to Xu Jinbo, "I’m going to the hospital now, but schedule my scenes as usual for tomorrow. I’ll make sure to be back in time."

Xu Jinbo replied, "Just focus on the hospital first. I’ll coordinate things here. We’ll film Xin Zhike’s scenes in the morning, and shoot yours after you return. We can edit them together later."

Zhou Yun shook her head, saying, "That way the scenes won’t look good."

Xu Jinbo had known of Zhou Yun’s insistence on quality but didn’t expect her to insist even now.

He said, "Trust Director Cui. If the footage turns out unusable, we’ll definitely reshoot it."

That night, Zhou Yun was on an IV drip in the hospital.

She ended up falling asleep, with Zheng Xiaojue and Liu Yun keeping watch, helping her get her medication changed by the nurse.

She slept through the night, waking up the next morning feeling much better, not as dizzy as the day before.

The needle was removed, Zheng Xiaojue slept on the bed beside her, and Liu Yun was nowhere in sight, possibly having gone somewhere.

Her phone was charging on the bedside table.

Zhou Yun picked up her phone and checked the time.

It was 6:37 a.m.

Still early.

Zhou Yun sat up, placed the pillow behind her back, and sent Xu Jinbo a message: I’m awake now, and I’m feeling much better. I’ll head to the set soon.

Xu Jinbo replied almost immediately: Are you really okay? Don’t push yourself.

Zhou Yun replied: I’m not, it was just a fever and cold, nothing serious.

Xu Jinbo said: Alright, I’ll arrange a car to pick you up later.

Zhou Yun agreed.

Around 7:30 a.m., Liu Yun came in through the door.

Zhou Yun was browsing her phone and looked up.

Liu Yun, holding a thermos, saw that Zhou Yun was awake and sitting up in bed, so she softly called, "Sister Xiao Yun."

She noticed Zheng Xiaojue still asleep beside them and moved even more quietly, saying, "Sister Xiao Yun, I made some porridge and a stew for you. You didn’t eat much yesterday; how about having something now?"

Zhou Yun indeed felt hungry.

Her stomach was empty.

She nodded happily and said thank you.

Liu Yun was a great cook. She often made Zhou Yun a variety of delicious dishes, from hot to cold.

Zhou Yun took a sip of the soup, and it was so savory she drank half a bowl in one go.

At that moment, Zheng Xiaojue suddenly muttered "smells so good," rubbed her eyes, and sat up.

She sleepily turned her head and excitedly said, "Sister Xiao Yun, you’re awake! Ah, Liu Yun’s here too. Is there food? It smells so good, do I get some?"

Liu Yun nodded with a smile, saying, "Yes, you do."
