CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 296: The Pinky
A shadow hand shot up from the ground and caught the assassin’s wrist.
"What?!" The assassin widened his eyes.
Crow emerged from the ground and punched at him, sending the assassin flying.
"What the hell?!" Ash crawled back in fear. She had just witnessed two impossible things happened consecutively within seconds.
A man that could shapeshift. And another that climbed out of the ground.
"I’m with Miss Isles, Miss Crawford. The real one." Crow adjusted his trench coat. "Who sent you? V.O.I.D.?"
Crow squinted his white eyes.
"Heh Heh!" The assassin snickered lowly and didn’t reply. His long tongue licked the dagger in his hand. They he jumped at Crow.
"Peak Rank-1? Just to kill a human?" Crow raised an eyebrow.
Crow deflected the dagger and countered with his own jab. Crow’s jab hit like a truck and sent the assassin flying. His entire body engraved into the wall.
Bash, with his hands still in his pocket, approached the assassin from the side.
"A kid?" The assassin mumbled.
He rushed at Bash and drove the dagger into Bash’s eyes. The dagger was reinforced by the assassin’ chaos.
The tip collided with Bash’s eyeball. The dagger broke completely and shattered like glass.
"How!" The assassin widened his eyes.
Bash removed his right hand out of his pocket and formed a fist.
"Demonic Spell..." Bash mumbled.
’What is this devastating attack going to be?’ The assassin got up and tried to get out of there. But he was not quick enough.
"Punch!" Bash said.
’What do you mean ’PUNCH’?’ The assassin screamed in his head.
Bash’s hand collided with the assassin and an explosion of Hellfire sent him away. The fire didn’t stop and kept rag dolling the assassin for a while.
His body smacked all the corners of the hallway and continued to be smashed for an entire minute.
Bash covered his mouth innocently. 𝕗𝕣𝐞𝐞𝘄𝐞𝚋𝚗𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗹.𝚌𝕠𝚖
The others had arrived and they watched the assassin bounced around the hallway like a ping pong ball.
"I didn’t think he was that weak." Bash scratched his head.
"Don’t worry, kid. You did the right thing." The black cat meowed. He jumped onto Bash’s red head and patted the demon.
"Aurora. Can you stop that guy? He’s going to die if he keeps going." The black cat meowed.
"Of course, Master." Aurora nodded.
She flicked her finger and suddenly ice encapsulated the assassin’s body and stopped the Hellfire on him to continue its destruction.
Crow used Abyssal Dash and bolted over to the assassin, grabbing him and returning to the group in a blink of an eye. The Abomination threw the assassin on the ground.
He was now a burned man with most of his clothes destroyed because of the fire.
"Well. You can take care of interrogating him." Selina said.
She walked over the body of the assassin and entered the room. Mater jumped on her shoulder.
"Ash. Are you alright?" Selina smiled.
"You are... Selina?"
Ash hadn’t seen Selina lately. Not since Selina had been focusing on her Bounty Hunter career and university courses. But Ash still remembered Selina. A kind girl with a dark sense of fashion.
Selina was different now. She wore a glamour black dress that complimented her body nicely. A gothic earing on her right ear with a big red rhombus gem inside it. And her smile. She didn’t wear those black lipsticks anymore.
Now her lips were bright red. Almost the color of blood. That red combined with her black hair and pale skin made her ethereal in a way.
"Are you really, Selina?" Ash frowned.
After what happened, she couldn’t know what was the truth anymore.
"Of course. Ash. Tell me, what trouble are you in this time? Is it that weak of a man Leonard again?" Selina hid her aura and returned to the usual girl that Ash knew.
"Selina... It really is you." Ash pulled the goth girl in and hugged her.
"There. There. Everything is alright now." Selina patted her gently.
"You are correct, Selina. It’s that man again. But this time, it was different. He wants to kill me." Ash’s face went pale.
"Why? Just because you left him?" Selina said.
"No. It was something else. He has this thing."
Ash went to her purse and took out the wooden finger. It was a pinky.
"That thing..." Mater squinted his eyes.
Selina also recognized that finger.
"You know this?" Ash said.
"I have come across something similar to it, yes. Why does he want to kill you for it?" Selina said.
Ash shook her head. "I don’t know."
"Give me the finger, Ash. I will take care of it." Selina said.
"Are you sure about it? A lot of bad people went after me because of it. They wanted to know where it was." Ash said.
"They are the ones that need to worry, Ash." Selina smiled. She returned to her usual self with the arrogant smile and the sinister aura.
Ash jerked backwards lightly and accepted reality. She actually saw Selina and the people standing with her.
None of them was normal and none of them was weak. Ash gave Selina the finger.
"Thank you, Ash. In the meantime, stay in the Meridian and don’t open the door easily this time. If I want to see you, I won’t need to knock." Selina said.
Ash nodded, "I should be the one that needs to say thank you. I’ve never thought you would do so much for me."
"We are friends, aren’t we?" Selina smiled.
Ash smiled back. This time she was no longer appalled by Selina’s aura. "Yes. Yes we are, Selina."
Mater’s group left. The personnel of the Meridian came and cleaned the body. They also reinforced security on the 11th floor to make sure Ash was safe.
Crow had already used Psycho Break to gain the information he wanted from the assassin. The assassin was also a mercenary from V.O.I.D. But he was a higher rank mercenary, different from those foot soldiers that they encountered around Ash’s house.
Selina gave the finger to Mater. "What do you think it is, Mr. Mater?"
The black cat examined the wooden finger. Then he sniffed it.
"No matter how I see it. This thing is just a vessel to store Chaos. But so many people are after it. The Red Keepers in Ines Sota. The Zakharovs and many other ancient orders.
There must be a secret related to it."
