CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 290: Aurora Borealis
Aurora and the servants entered the Floor of Blizzard. They shuddered when they saw the colorful strokes moving in the sky.
"What is that?" Aurora said.
"That is you. That is the northern lights." Crow mumbled.
Aurora stared at the colorful light in the sky. Her body transformed into the skeletal white elk, causing a snowstorm to appear around her. Her clothes scattered on the snow.
"Achoo!" Bash sneezed uncontrollably.
Solarix wrapped her wings around him.
"Thanks." Bash wiped his nose.
Aurora took flight. She didn’t have the flight ability. But inside this Prison, she was the Warden of Ice.
The white elk jogged through the air and entered the northern lights. Her hooves echoed on the fabric of light.
A throne materialized. A throne of clear ice with the colorful lights of Aurora Borealis within it.
Aurora turned back into her human form and sat on the floating ice throne.
The throne oversaw the entire Floor of Blizzard.
Solarix covered Bash’s eyes.
"Why! I want to see!"
"Kid can’t see these things!" Solarix whispered.
And with that, Mater had completed moving the Shrine into his portable pocket dimensions.
His ear perked up as he heard the static noise on Selina’s phone.
"Something’s wrong?" The black cat walked out of the cold storage. His entire body was covered in tiny snowflakes.
Selina nodded.
"I can’t contact Ash. She always picks up her phone."
"Trouble?" The cat’s pupils dilated.
"Maybe. Ash has a very troublesome ex-husband." The goth girl bit her nail. "It got very ugly in the past..."
"Well then. Let’s go visit her home."
"We’re not going to call the police?" Selina said.
"Girl, please. You are a certified Bounty Hunter of the ACPD. You are the police!"
"Right! I almost forgot about that."
"Master! We want to go too!" Evelynn’s voice echoed.
"Hmmm?"
Ash was a shy and timid girl. She used to work a high position in the bank. But everything changed after her miscarriage.
Allegedly Ash blamed her husband for that incident. But the court had decided that he was innocent.
They divorced right after.
After that, Ash gave up on her career. With the little savings she got left, she bought a few properties here and there. She leased them out for tenants or people with special needs like Selina.
Ash and Selina got to know each other after the lease of the cold storage. They went for coffee with each other from time to time. Ash told Selina a lot about her life.
Selina, however, couldn’t tell her much and could only give some clues here and there. Legally speaking, her job was still confidential. Despite how many people were in the know.
Mrs. Hughes was tendering to her garden when she saw a group of distinguished individuals walking down the street.
Each of them was as beautiful as a movie star and carried a sense of their own.
A white-hair girl with intricate blue lines on her body. She looked like an angel walking out from the books.
A man with a trench coat with a black mask and goggles on his face. Mrs. Hughes was reminded of old images of detectives she used to watch as a kid.
Then a kid wearing a demon mask and a red suit. His eyes were so big and cute.
A rather beautiful looking woman with blonde hair. Mrs. Hughes swore she saw that woman on the television somewhere.
A man in a black and white suit with a sly smile on his face. He left his collar open a little, showing the hairy patch on his chest.
Beside him was a woman with bright orange hair and sharp eyes. She looked like a femme fatale back in the old age.
"What on Earth..." Mrs. Hughes mumbled. "Are they shooting a movie somewhere?"
Leading the group was a goth girl with raven hair. She had a rather attention-seeking tattoo on her chest. The goth girl carried a black cat in her arms.
Selina approached Mrs. Hughes, which caused her to jerk back a little.
Mrs. Hughes was a little bit afraid because of how strange they looked.
"Hello, ma’am. May I ask where 328th Vacity Street is?"
"That way..." Mrs. Hughes pointed to a rather humble looking house in the neighborhood.
"Thank you, ma’am. Have a nice day."
"You too!"
The goth girl was much more respectful than Mrs. Hughes thought. The old woman waved goodbye to the goth girl as she left with the group.
"Isn’t that Ash’s house? Since when did that girl have such pretty friends?" Mrs. Hughes thought.
Mater climbed on Selina’s shoulder once they reached Ash’s house.
The goth girl pressed the doorbell.
"Ash! Are you there?" Selina called but no one answered.
Mater approached the door and pushed it gently. The door swung open.
The black cat looked up to Selina. Their eyes met.
They all thought the same thing.
’There’s trouble.’
"Secure the perimeter, Crow." The black cat meowed.
The Abomination tipped his hat. He looked back and forth to make sure there was no one around. Crow transformed into a crow and flew up high.
The other servants scattered, each secured a direction of the house.
"You come with me, Bash." The black cat meowed.
He had his front-line tank back. It would be stupid to not use him.
"I got it, Master!" The little kid in the red suit said.
Bash stepped forward and flicked his finger at the door. The point of contact erupted in flame and blew the door wide open.
They entered the house.
A van parked on the opposite side of the street. They noticed there were people approaching Ash’s house.
The man inside put out his radio. "There is a strange group in the target’s house."
"What do you mean ’strange group’?" The voice on the radio answered.
"A goth. An albino girl. Some crazy guy in a trench coat..."
As soon as he finished saying that, he saw Crow staring at him from the window outside.
"Shit!"
The man quickly grabbed his gun. But it was already too late. Crow punched through the glass and grabbed the man.
He flung him out of the window, letting him roll on the ground.
There were many ambushers around. Another man kicked his car’s door open. He had a large metallic gun in his hand.
As he placed his finger on the trigger. The gun lit up and gave a high-pitched shrieking sound.
That was no ordinary gun. It was an advanced scientific weapon.
He aimed his gun at Crow’s back.
