Chapter 183: Chapter 183: Assassin

All the nearby wraiths rushed at them. Crow and Aurora stopped them from advancing and disturbing Bash.

The gorilla wraith bellowed. The fire in its chest spun quickly. Lava shot out from its body.

This time Bash could feel the heat. He stopped and punched the wraith, sending its and its lava away.

The gorilla rolled on the ground a few times. Lava spilled to the floor, burning everything.

The gorilla stood up and smacked its chest. Lava leaked out of its mouth. Then it bent backwards, the flame in its chest shot out completely. It turned into a giant ball of lava and rolled at Bash.

Bash smiled. That hothead Infernal Demon didn’t back down and charged at the ball of lava.

A hexagonal force field appeared in front of Bash as he charged through the ball. Mater had used Force Dome to assist him.

The ball of lava was broken into many balls of flame and dropped on the ground.

Bash got closer to the gorilla that had lost its flame. With a punch, Bash crushed the gorilla’s face and killed it.

Mater was there to collect the Chaos.

"This one is rather high level. It was a level 8 wraith." The black cat meowed.

Wraiths in the Factory gave very few Chaos, each level had one Chaos Sphere so Mater was able to determine their level that way.

Selina came over and collected the flickering flame on the ground. They jumped inside the flame staff and made it stronger than before.

"Bash Help!" After finishing the gorilla, Bash charged at the surrounding wraiths to assist Aurora and Crow.

There were quite a lot of candle mannequins around, at least twenty of them. With Bash serving as the front line and taking the damage, Crow and Aurora could easily mow down the mannequins.

Mater collected the Chaos and Selina collected the candle flame.

The flame staff shined even brighter. The gold of the staff slowly spread all over its entire length.

"Let’s go. Only a few other unique wraiths in this maze." The black cat meowed.

Aside from the gorilla, there was also a fire eagle and a fire snake. The group approached the fire eagle first.

The eagle flew on top of the maze. Its wings were literally fire.

"Snatch that bird down, Crow." Mater said.

Crow tipped his fedora lightly before transforming into a large vulture and flew up. He disappeared in mid-air, activating his invisibility.

The fire eagle spotted Mater’s group. It let out a high-pitched shriek before diving down at the black cat.

Mater summoned the Force Dome and used the surrounding ground as an Elemental Shield.

The bird pierced through the Earth Elemental Shield easily.

"This thing has very high attacking power." The black cat stroked its whiskers.

However, it was still stopped by the Force Dome.

Crow reappeared right above its head and turned back to his humanoid form. He summoned a Nether Sphere and drove the bird down to the ground.

The bird shrieked and shot out fire at Crow. Crow lifted his forearms up to block the flame but he was still hurt.

"Aurora!" The black cat growled.

As soon as the bird was on the ground, an ice pillar shot up and encapsulated it. Countless ice spikes emerged from within the walls of the ice pillar and pierced through the fire eagle.

"You’re okay, Crow?" Mater looked to the Abyssal Abomination.

Crow dusted off the fire on his arms. "It hit me a little bit."

The black cat spat out the Abyssal Helmet. "Use this."

Crow was an excellent melee fighter and assassin but he was still very fragile. He was more durable than Aurora for sure but wouldn’t be able to take hits like Bash.

The Abyssal Helmet would cover this weakness.

Crow took the Helmet and put it on. The mechanical suit appeared on him. He raised his hand and summoned the Lightning Nether Sword once more.

Purple electricity danced around the blade.

Crow disappeared from his position, leaving a lightning bolt on his trail.

The fire eagle opened its mouth and spat out a wave of fire that melted the ice, allowing it to fly out.

Crow appeared right at its face and sliced the Nether Sword at the eagle.

It breathed fire at Crow again. His helmet changed and a visor shot down, covering the exposing upper-half of his face.

Crow ignored the flame this time and finished his attack. The blade collided with the eagle, exploding a ball of purple electricity that pushed it to the ground.

Bash charged at it and grabbed the eagle. He jumped up in the sky and slammed the eagle down, breaking every bone inside its body. If it even had any.

Crow appeared right beside Bash and slammed the Nether Sword down. Nether Lightning rushed across the eagle body and broke it into pieces.

"It’s done." Crow said.

"More food!" The black cat trotted happily over to the eagle and took away its Chaos before it completely disappeared.

Selina collected the flame it dropped. More gold appeared on the body of the staff.

"There’s only one more major wraith, right?" Selina said.

"Yup. After that, we can go to the core." The black cat nodded.

The core of the pocket dimension was at the center of the maze. Mater knew exactly where it was but he needed to farm these wraiths first.

The black cat turned back to the far corner of the maze.

"We have company." The black cat smirked.

Crow marched forward with the blade on his shoulder. "Show yourself."

Assassin appeared. His body materialized like the image inside a mirror.

"Invisibility?" Aurora frowned. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

"Not quite. If it was invisibility, I would be able to see it." The black cat’s deep voice echoed. He used human tongue deliberately so that Assassin could hear.

"This is more than just invisibility. He was able to hide his presence and his Chaos from me.

You must be Assassin from the Atlas Seven, huh?"

Mater had checked information about the Atlas Seven before. Both on the internet and the Zakharovs Database, he knew a lot about them.

Assassin let out a long breath. This job seemed to be much harder than he thought. Not only that the talking cat was able to determine his power with a simple glimpse, all of the ’people’ here were no joke.

Each had their power pulsed as strong as the strongest Menace level. That cat was almost Hazard. The mechanical knight was a Hazard, a weak one but still had the power of Hazard.

The goth girl was weak but her staff was weird.

That white-haired girl didn’t look so simple either.

Everything had made Assassin decide that this mission was suicide. He turned invisible again and ran away without looking back.

"Catch him!" Mater shouted.
