CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 75: Hypnotized

Amy was waiting back and forth with worry.

[Is Princess Cassandra okay?]

[Why is she taking so long to come out?]

[I should go to look for Princess.]

Amy took a step forward but she paused in her step. [No, the Princess told me to wait.]

[I cannot disrespect the Princess.]

Amy was playing with her hands as her palms were sweating. Even though the first was protected and not a wild animal had been seen, there were times that carnivores were spotted.

Amy’s eyes continued to look towards the entrance of the forest. And soon Princess Cassandra walked out of the woods as she looked at Amy with eyes filled with curiosity.

"Princess .." Amy walked towards Princess Cassandra in a hurry. Amy looked up and down just to make sure that the princess was not harmed.

"Amy." Cassandra’s eyes turned sharp. "Let’s go back. I need to talk with you alone."

Amy swallowed. Princess Cassandra’s voice was filled with hostility. Something Amy had never heard before.

Amy nodded as she followed the fifth Princess back to the palace but her heart was unstable. Amy could not understand what had happened to make the fifth princess so stiff today.

But Amy knew that something was up with the fifth princess. Princess Cassandra was behaving unusually since the morning.

[Is Princess Cassandra stressed?]

[Did something happen?]

[Is it because of Ed?]

[I knew the man was unreliable]

[I hope Duke Salvador makes Ed know his place.]

[His behavior towards the princess is too intimate.]

Cassandra, who was listening to such thoughts, was angry. Her hands had turned a fist as her speed increased.

Aiden waited till princess Cassandra was out of reach. When he could not see the lingering figure of the Princess, Aiden removed his mark as he ran his hand through his hair.

"Blazh."

Blazh came out as he stood behind the Duke. He waited patiently for his master’s order.

"Did you hear anything?" Duke Salvador asked in a low tone.

Blazh did not dare to look up as he shook his head. "No."

"Good." Aiden smiled as he waited to say his other words as if he was in deep thoughts. "Blazh you are curious, right?"

Aiden had instructed Blazh to think so certain things and seeing the fifth Princess reaction it was evident what might have happened.

Blazh was the most trusted person of Duke Salvador as well as the commander of Black Eagles. A man like him was bound to be intelligent.

But Blazh also knew when he should say something and when he needed to be quiet. "No master."

Aiden looked away from the Deep forest as he turned around towards Blazh. "No one should know about it."

Blazh nodded his head in understanding. He could not imagine the consequences of leaking such sensitive information.

"And remember." Aiden’s gaze turned sharp. "Do not let anyone know about it. You need to protect the fifth Princess at any cost."

"Yes, Duke. I will keep the fifth Princess safe." Blazh was confident in his words.

"And never think anything unnecessary when you are near the Princess," Aiden warned. His voice was not that deep but it still contained the seriousness that made Blazh shiver in fear.

"Hmm .."

Aiden looked away from Blazh as he waited patiently. Now he was sure of what he wanted from Princess Cassandra.

’I need to know the forgotten knowledge.’

’And how such an unusual thing occurred in the fifth Princess.’

’I need the fifth Princess to trust me wholly.’

’And to give me her heart.’

A smile bloomed on Aiden’s face as his eyes glittered. ’I need Princess Cassandra to feel the same way she feels for Ed.’

’Even if it is friendship still.’

’The fifth Princess can be friends with Ed but she should be in love with me, Aiden Salvador.’

’And for my dear friend Lord Bentham.’ Aiden smirked as Achard’s face flashed in front of his eyes. ’He can be long forgotten by her.’

Aiden looked calm on the surface but in his heart, there was a storm brewing that wanted to have Princess Cassandra. After seeing the real Princess when he was Ed, the way she laughed, the way she talked, how her cornflower blue eyes glowed, her confidence. Aiden wanted to bring that side of Princess Cassandra on the outside.

’I want to remove the powerless, unfavored tags attached to the fifth Princess’s name and replace it with something unique and confident.’

’As for the powerful, I will be standing behind Princess Cassandra’s back along with my whole family. No one would dare call the fifth Princess powerless then.’

Aiden smiled as he looked back at Blazh whose gaze was filled with confusion.

"I need to have a meeting with all the Dukes. The Vivere Kingdom’s Crown Princess will be here soon."

Blazh understood the message as he nodded his head and left the forest, leaving Duke Salvador alone deep in his thoughts.

Aiden smiled as he looked towards the waterfall and his mind went back a few minutes prior. He looked down at his hand filled with medicine as Princess Cassandra’s face flashed in his eyes.

Soon Aiden’s body relaxed as he looked up at the sky. ’I am waiting for the night to come faster.’

After sighing, Duke Salvador closed his eyes to relax as he looked around before his gaze turned serious.

"It’s time to fulfill the responsibility of being a Duke."

Aiden took steps towards the woods as he disappeared soon after.

"Amy," Cassandra said as soon as they closed her room’s door. "What did you say to Duke Salvador?"

Amy’s soul left her body for a few seconds after the fifth Princess said such words directly. "Princess .."

"Amy." Cassandra cut Amy’s words in between as she continued. "I know you talked with the Duke. There is no denying it. I just want to know if it was related to Ed?"

[How did the Princess know that?]

Amy swallowed as she nodded her head. Her eyes were filled with water.

[But I did that for you, Princess. I will always do that for you.]

Cassandra sighed as she closed her eyes to calm her mind. But the wound on Ed’s hand was still fresh in her head.

’I cannot let this thing go so easily.’

’Amy should know that what she did was wrong.’

’It was my mistake that I was unable to keep Amy in the loop.’

Cassandra took some deep breaths as she looked at Amy. "Amy, you are my friend. Someone closer to me than my relatives. You are my sister and I hope you know it. And if you don’t want to tell me what you talked about with Duke Salvador then I cannot force you, but I will be disappointed."

Cassandra looked away from Amy as she walked further inside the room. "Ed was hurt by the duke. His palms were bleeding. He is also my friend Amy. Someone who doesn’t judge me. But if you do not lik .."

"No Princess," Amy came inside after Princess Cassandra as tears dropped down. "I did not kn .. know .."

Amy’s voice choked. Her body shivered a little as many thoughts flashed in her mind that she could not say out loud into words.

[I never knew that Duke Salvador would do such a thing.]

[If I knew, I would never have said such things to the Duke.]

[I never meant it to happen.]

[My words made someone hurt.]

Amy was silent. She had personally experienced how one’s words can affect someone else’s life.

"Duke Salvador called for me yesterday." Amy gathered her courage as she continued to tell her side of the story.

After listening to the whole thing, Cassandra’s eyebrows rose. "Do you think Ed likes me?"

There was amusement in Princess Cassandra’s tone as if it was hard to believe whatever she was listening to. "Why would you think that Amy?"

"Princess, please don’t get me wrong. You should not get me wrong. I feel that Ed is too focused on you. His eyes always follow you as if studying all your moves. Even when you are writing something, I have personally seen Ed staring at your back as if hypnotized."

"You think too much." Cassandra waved her hands. She knew why Ed was doing so, it was an order from Duke Salvador. After all, Cassandra was given things to do that were confidential.

"But Prince .."

"Amy, you should not think so deeply into it. Ed will be here only till the Vivere Kingdom’s people are here and after that, he won’t be. We might not even see him then." Cassandra walked towards Amy as she touched her hand. "Amy, he is someone who is protecting me. And now he is even hurt because of us."

Amy looked down as tears rolled down her cheeks. She was ashamed of what she had done, but it was due to the love she had for the fifth Princess.

"Don’t cry now." Cassandra rubbed Amy’s eyes as she cupped her cheeks. "Ed will come here at night. Ask him for forgiveness Amy. He is one of us now, at least for a few more days."

Amy nodded her head as she looked towards Cassandra. The Princess’s gaze was filled with softness making Amy unable to say any other words.
