CASSANDRA: The Unfavored Princess-Chapter 170: Ambition
Princess Elvira looked past Princess Cassandra.
Seeing the fifth Princess distracted, the witch looked at the aura. The aura was fighting with everyone there.
It was then that Princess Elvira realized that she needed the darkness. She needed it to stabilize her aura to make it more powerful. After all, the darkness not only helped the elements or the crystals to become stronger and stable, it also needed her magic.
When she realized this, Princess Elvira moved her hands in a circle before she raised them up. She needed the darkness. It was time to get what she was promised.
Princess Elvira moved above the ground and when Princess Cassandra looked back she realized that the witch was no longer there. Confused Princess Cassandra moved her head around. But before the fifth Princess could see where the witch had gone she heard her voice.
Princess Elvira’s tone was filled with smiles. "It’s time for you to give me what you promise." Princess Elvira said to the royal sibling.
Princess Teimei’s eyes widened as she looked at her brother. Prince Carl had made up his mind to back off from the deal, thus he shook his head. "I do not want to." He said in a low tone but his eyes were looking straight at the witch.
Princess Elvira laughed as her gaze turned red with anger. Her anger spread throughout her body as she raised her eyebrows and said in a questionable tone. "You don’t want to? Do you think this is all too easy? Do you think that your ancestors can make a deal with me, a witch, and then back out of it? It does not work like that. Give me your powers."
Princess Teimei swallowed as her throat shivered. She was sure when the darkness made the deal it didn’t know what type of witch Princess Elvira was. Or maybe its eyes were covered in greed that he didn’t realize what he was getting into.
Princess Teimei took a step back as she held Prince Carl’s hand. She looked at Princess Cassandra who was looking at them. The distance between them was far but the witch was flying up in the sky looking down on the royal sibling.
[We need to think of ourselves first.] Princess Teimei thought as her hold on her brother’s hand tightened before they disappeared. They were transported.
The witch was getting angry and she needed a pure source of energy. Someone whose body has not been tinted by other elements. She looked at Lord Bentham who was staring at her. She could use his power as well, but she could sense the water element in him. Elvira needed someone who only had darkness in them. The man standing in front of her was useless.
From the corner of her eyes Princess Elvira could see that someone was walking towards her, she knew that it was the fifth princess. The element’s presence was overbearing. Elvira took a deep breath. Her aura was struggling to stabilize.
Princess Elvira closed her eyes as she called the aura back into her body. She moved her hands around as an invisible layer formed around her in a circular form.
Although it was invisible, the change in the surroundings made it very clear that the witch was under protection. Princess Cassandra blinked her eyes as she came forward standing beside her friends.
"What is that?" Blazh asked.
It was the darkness element that clarified. "She is trying to protect herself so that we do not attack her."
"Protect her from what?" Duke Salvador asked as he looked at the elements standing in front of them. Tigers looked at each other as they said in unison.
"Because the darkness has refused to obey her, the witch is ready to consume all the elements from the people. She is going to absorb that from their bodies."
Achard Bentham was in shock. "From every one of them?" He asked as the tigers nodded the heads
"Yes, but it won’t be pure." The darkness continued. "It would be a little corrupt." All the tigers looked at darkness as the tiger’s eyes narrowed. The darkness said in a soft tone. "It had already started."
—----------
Prince and Princess of the Vivere Kingdom travel back to the palace. They have transported themselves into the throne room where the King and Queen sat.
Seeing the condition their children were in, the royal couple did not understand what was happening. The Queen got up and moved towards her children as she touched both of their faces. "What happened to you? Why are you in such a condition?" She asked in a shivery tone.
But the royal siblings did not look at her. He moved away from their mother as they walked towards her father. Their breathing was messy as the sweat formed on their faces.
Prince Carl said. "We have made a mistake, she should never have been woken up."
The King did not know what was happening. He shook his hand as he got up from his seat. "What are you talking about? We have to help her gain her powers. We have to help her. We have made a deal?"
"MADE A DEAL? DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT IT IS? SHE IS KILLING EVERYONE WHOSE POWER SHE IS ABSORBING. SHE WILL DESTROY EVERYTHING. DO YOU EVEN KNOW WHAT TYPE OF WITCH SHE IS? SHE WILL KILL US ALL. SHE WANTS TO KILL THE ELEMENTS. THE ELEMENTS ARE THE ORIGINS, FATHER. LET ME REMIND YOU, ONCE THE ORIGIN IS DESTROYED EVERYTHING THAT IT HAS BEEN CREATED WILL BE DESTROYED TOO. THE POWER YOU ARE HOPING TO GET SOMEDAY WITH THE HELP OF THE WITCH WILL BE USELESS, BECAUSE YOU, OR NONE OF US FOR THAT MATTER, WOULD BE ALIVE. OUR ANCESTORS MADE A MISTAKE AND WE ARE REPEATING IT. I DO NOT WANT TO REPEAT THAT."
Princess Teimei looked at her brother for the first time with admiration. She took a step forward as she stood beside him. She had the same intention as Prince Carl.
"The elements were not something we could defeat. We all have to work together. The witch was something we have created. We have woken her up. It was our greed but now the situation is different, now it is for our life and the life of our people." Princess Teimei said in a soft tone as if trying to make her father understand. "Father, we need to do something."
Princess Teimei continued. "The witch needs darkness, I can see it. She even killed the first Princess as she took the crystal from her body."
The King refused to listen. "Where is the secretary, call him. This should not have happened. We can still control the witch; everything is in our power. Where is my brother?" The King’s tone was getting softer as if it was trying to tell himself, making himself not to give up on everything else.
"Uncle is dead." Princess Teimei whispered.
"The secretary?" Prince Carl shook his head in anger. "He died. The witch killed him first. Do you know how many pieces his body was destroyed into? He looked like an old rat, his lifeless body on the ground. Do you think we would have been in this situation if he had succeeded?"
Prince Carl laughed. "You still believe the words of him? I feel like their family was the one making use of us, but the witch turned on everyone. Father, who do you want to save? Our people or your own ambition?"
"CARL" the Queen’s voice shouted as she took a step forward. She held her son’s hands and she looked into him. "Don’t talk in such a tone with your father."
Prince Carl was losing control. "Don’t talk with my father in this tone? Do you even realize what you all have done?"
Princess Teimei could feel the tension in the air. She moved forward as she put her hands on her mother’s shoulder, pulling the queen away from Prince Carl. "Mother, understand.... please..." Princess Teimei whispered into the Queen’s ears.
Prince Carl took a last look at his mother before he focused on the King. "We need to find a way to fight with the witch. The elements and we need to fight in this together to be able to defeat her."
The king was silent, he looked into his son’s eyes as he started thinking. What if his son was telling the truth, there was no reason for his son to lie. The secretary is dead and even his brother died in the process. What would happen to their kingdom? The King wanted to complete the mission that the darkness had given them. After all, their ancestral history was a part of it, but now the king started thinking what if they were wrong. What if they should never have trusted the witch?
"What do you suggest?" The King asked. The possibility of his thoughts coming true is very high and he didn’t want to take any risk. His ambition was never higher than his people.
Prince Carl nodded his head as he realized that his father had finally understood the situation. He took a step forward but soon he found a striking pain in his heart. His eyes shivered as he held his chest, his body loosened up as he fell on the ground.
Prince Carl looked up and he saw everyone else on the ground as well. The Queen, the King, and even Princess Teimei were in pain. But before he could understand anything, he lost his senses.
