Chapter 102: Ready To Explode

Duke Salvador asked as Princess Cassandra blinked her eyes in confusion.

"Shouldn’t you be telling me what we should be doing?" Princess Cassandra took a deep breath. "I am aware of the situation now. But when I was in the garden with the Vivere Kingdom’s Prince and Princess, I heard something very unusual."

Duke Salvador raised his eyebrows in question. "He asked something unusual?"

"Yes ..." Princess Cassandra nodded her head as she walked towards the bed. She sat down as Cassandra smiled at the Duke, indicating him to sit down beside her as well.

Aiden didn’t smile as he went there to the princess and sat beside her. His mind was filled with thoughts but he waited for the fifth Princess to continue.

"I could not understand many of them, but it said that some witch was about to wake up soon. The power of her might affect me. But I did not understand what it meant. Is it possible that something is happening which we are unaware of?" Princess Cassandra’s eyes shook as she looked into Duke Salvador’s gaze. The worry was evident in her eyes.

Duke Salvador could not rest as well. So many things have happened in a single day and yet he was wondering how to deal with her.

"You tell me, Princess. Is it possible that your Lord Bentham is one of them?" Duke Salvador asked.

Princess Cassandra looked down but she could not give a clear answer. It was just a feeling that she felt but the reality of it was not known.

’I should be honest with the Duke.’

Princess Cassandra thought as she made up her mind.

"I don’t know what I feel about him. Initially, he gave out very good feelings to me as a person who could understand me. Although he had never crossed a line, he always made me feel comfortable. It was as if we were both on the same page. We both had our personal opinion and our problems but when Lord Bentham asked me to marry him, I did not think twice. I do not know if it was the comfort that he had provided me with or something else ...." Princess Cassandra’s eyes softened.

"But now that I think about it depending on how he has been behaving. It feels like it was for an alternative motive. I don’t know what you feel but sometimes I really think that the way Lord Bentham had behaved with me was all his plan. Prince Carl and Princess Teimei know that I can read minds and the way they were interacting with me made me feel that they know a lot about me. But they have never expressed it so I cannot be sure about it."

"Although Lord Bentham has never talked with me directly through his thoughts like the Vivere Kingdom’s Prince and Princess does, he has always been very careful about what he thinks near me. Maybe that is why I felt that he was a good person and decided to go along with his words and marry him, at least in the name." Princess Cassandra took some deep breaths as she continued.

"But I can tell you this for sure that the Vivere Kingdom’s Prince and Lord Bentham had known each other. I don’t know how, I don’t know why, but there is a very unusual understanding between them."

Duke Salvador’s eyes narrowed as he nodded. He had also felt that something was wrong with those two, but Princess Cassandra felt the same way now.

"Does the Princess feel that the two have the same powers?" Duke Salvador asked in a low tone.

Princess Cassandra shook her head. "I could feel any bad feeling from them. But then again, I do not understand the powers they have. I just know that they can transport from one place to another through the darkness. But other than that it is a full blank for me."

"Yes, No one knows about them, but they look very interested in you." Duke Salvador said as he looked into Princess Cassandra’s eyes.

Princess Cassandra nodded her head in excitement. "I have felt it a long time ago, maybe from the time when Prince Carl had talked about my mother. It was as if he knew that I am curious about my powers and I am afraid of how the Elvira Empire people would look at me. I’ve also been curious about my mother. I have always thought that what if my mother had the same powers? If I hadn’t gotten them from my father, I would have gotten them from my mother. Even though I have searched I have never found any clue about her and Prince Carl pointed it out very well."

"Prince Carl knows about my mother and her origin and I feel like he knows about my powers, from where they have come, how did I receive it, or how I would be able to control them. I’m sure about it. I don’t know how to explain this to you but I feel like my answers are waiting in the Vivere Kingdom."

Duke Salvador sensed that the Princess was feeling down. He touched Cassandra’s hand which was cold.

"Don’t worry, you will be able to go there. I will make sure that your questions will be answered." 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝚠𝕖𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝕖𝚕.𝚌𝗼𝗺

Princess Cassandra smiled as she looked up into Duke Salvador’s deep gaze. Although only his eyes were visible there was an assurance floating in them, telling her that no matter how hard the situation might be, he would be there for her.

"Won’t you come with me?" Cassandra asked.

Duke Salvador’s sight shook. "I want to but I don’t think that the Vivere Kingdom’s Prince and my friend would appreciate me coming."

Princess Cassandra’s eyes widened when she heard those words from the Duke. "But you said you could come, you said I can trust you and you will find a way out. The panic in Princess Cassandra’s gaze was evident.

Princess Cassandra’s body was shivering. Although she wanted to know the answers she was afraid of going there alone.

Aiden’s hold on Princess Cassandra’s hand tightened. "I never said I would not come. Duke Salvador might not be able to accompany you but Ed would be there as a guard."

Cassandra did not understand what the Duke was saying but her eyes shook as soon as the words finally resisted in her brain. "So Ed will come with me?"

Duke Salvador smiled. "Yes, Ed will come with you but the princess should ask for a guard. You should be stubborn in demanding Ed. I can only suggest it, but if the princess has to say that you will feel at ease only when Ed comes with you."

Princess Cassandra’s eyes shivered as she thought about the possibility. "But Princess Valeria would not leave you alone."

Duke Salvador himself knew about it. The first Princess wanted him. "The princess should not worry about such trivial things. I will find a way out and get it done."

"I trust you." Cassandra’s words were full of confidence as a smile played on her face. But soon her face distorted as she could feel her body burning up. And soon it cooled down suddenly as if a huge wave of water had spread on it. The dryness and the breathlessness followed faster. Cassandra did not know what was happening but she looked at Duke Salvador.

"Something is wrong .." Cassandra managed to say but before Duke Salvador could do anything Princess Teimei entered.

Princess Teimei looked at the man sitting next to the princess with narrowed eyes. The man did not feel surprised at all by her sudden appearance but Princess Teimei had different worries.

She walked over to the fifth Princess and she closed her eyes with her hands. Soon darkness swallowed Princess Cassandra and she slept.

Duke Salvador did not know what was happening but you knew that Princess Cassandra was suffering a few moments earlier. No matter how the Vivere Kingdom’s people were he could not look past the point now that their princess had somehow eased Princess Cassandra’s worry.

Duke’s Salvador’s tone lowered as huskier as he said in the voice of Ed and asked "What is Princess doing here?"

Princess Teimei looked at the man with a questionable gaze. "I should be asking you the same question: What are you doing in the fifth princess’ room and that too on her bed?"

Duke Salvador smiled. He could not believe that Princess Cassandra’s words had come true. Princess Teimei actually entered her room.

"What am I doing here? I am her personal guard. I follow the instructions given by the fifth Princess. I do not answer to you." Duke Salvador got up from the bed. "But the princess came without opening the doors. You should be the one answering me and not the other way around." Aiden’s eyes were glowing with danger.

Even if Princess Teimei was here to help Princess Cassandra, she had no right to enter without proper etiquette.

"Haha .." Princess Teimei laughed but her eyes turned sharp. "And I should answer you? You have no right to ask me such questions."

Both of them looked at each other with hate. There was a fire burning in their hearts and soon it was ready to explode.
