Chapter 37: Chapter 36: Want to Kiss You

Claire Prescott dawdled in the changing room for quite a while before coming out.

Actually, she doesn’t know how to play golf and doesn’t want to play; she just wanted to stay away from them. Looking at it now, she clearly dug a hole for herself.

Absent-mindedly spraying mosquito repellent on her legs, suddenly a shadow loomed over, and in her view was a pair of polished black leather shoes.

Claire straightened up, looking up along the man’s pants, unexpectedly meeting a pair of profound, noble eyes.

She was instantly stunned, looking incredulous.

The man wore a crisp white shirt, looking at her with eyes as gentle as the breeze, his voice deep and magnetic: "What’s wrong? Change cities and now you don’t recognize me?"

Claire came back to her senses, her eyes gradually brightened, she asked excitedly, "What are you doing here?"

"Business trip."

Two words, simple and clear.

Meeting here, how fortunate.

Claire asked with concern, "Is your cold better?"

"It’s already gone."

Looking at his complexion, what he said was true.

He was still as beautiful as ever, exuding a calm and poised presence.

Seeing him appear in front of her, strangely, she felt entirely relaxed and carefree, "Is your schedule open? I want you to teach me how to play golf."

And she didn’t even ask if he could play golf, just assuming he would be skilled at it.

Keane Lowell smiled, "Teaching you to play, what’s in it for me?"

"What do you want?" she asked generously.

Not just now, always being extraordinarily generous toward him, having the potential to be a benefactor.

In a simple women’s golf outfit, worn by her it seemed to take on a uniquely charming flavor.

He asked, "Will you agree to any benefits?"

"Yes." Claire nodded, without any defense against him, adding, "As long as I can manage it."

Keane’s gaze slowly glided past her nose, falling on her soft, beautiful lips for a few seconds before casually shifting away, his voice warm and steady: "Haven’t decided on the benefit yet."

He promptly held her hand, "I can mention it after I teach you."

The implication was a sort of presumption.

Claire didn’t mind, swiftly following his steps, laughingly saying, "Then don’t ask for anything excessive."

"You’re free to agree or not when the time comes, alright?" His tone was indulgent.

Claire: "In that case, I’m taking advantage of your generosity."

...

They exited from another door, completely avoiding Finn and Ethan.

Sunlight lightly spread over the entire field, an expanse of green stretching as far as the eye could see.

Keane chose a 7-iron.

He stood behind her, in an encompassing posture, his palm covering her hands.

The fresh scent of cedar intermittently filled her nostrils, his hand-guided lesson was so intimate it made her dizzy, rendering her unable to focus.

And as if silently agreeing on it, neither asked the other why they were here or who they were with.

"Don’t exercise much, do you?" His deep, distinctive voice dropped from above her head.

Claire returned to herself, responding, "I never liked sports growing up. Whenever I rested at home, my grandfather would chase me outside to take a walk."

Keane chuckled, "You can come to me during breaks from now on."

"Don’t you have to work on weekends?"

"Not usually on Sundays, with exceptions here and there."

So they basically had similar schedules, Claire agreed with a sound: "Alright."

However.

The ball wasn’t hit out yet when Claire saw Finn striding toward them, making her unable to clearly hear what Keane said afterward.

Noticing her distraction, Keane followed her gaze over, deeply saying: "Still want to learn?"

Claire felt the weight of his grip, in a heavy mood, swinging the club.

She didn’t know where the ball flew, only that Finn was already approaching her.

She stood away from Keane, hesitating how best to introduce Finn.

"I’ve been looking for you all over, how did you end up here?" Finn frowned at her, his tone a bit heavy.

Claire answered calmly, "I said I wanted to play golf; it’s the same anywhere."

Finn coldly glanced at the person standing behind her, ordering her, "Come with me."

Claire stayed still, staring at him.

Realizing she hadn’t followed, Finn turned back to look at her.

Almost forgot she never complied with his discipline, only responded to gentleness.

His tone became gentler, coaxing her, "Ethan is waiting for us over there."

"I have nothing to discuss with you guys; it’s better I stay here and play golf with my friend."

"You want to play golf; I can teach you."

"No need."

Finn’s face darkened immediately, calling out, "Claire Prescott. Forgotten what Dad said before we left?"

As if he was determined to get her to leave.

This confrontation in front of Keane was something she didn’t want.

She turned back to the man behind, "Can you teach me another day? I have to go with him."

"Whatever you need."

Seeing her more gentle and considerate to an outsider than her own family, Finn felt uncomfortable all of a sudden, his brooding eyes meeting Keane’s gaze, a chilling light flashed across.

...

Returning to the beginning, Ethan stood under the eaves, watching the two who just came back, his gaze fixed on Claire’s figure.

In her short sleeves and skirt, her skin was as white as fresh snow, smooth and delicate.

Her brows and eyes gleamed in the sunlight, clean and elegant, so lovely one would want to hide her away.

Being stared at so openly by him, Claire just felt her skin prickling uncomfortably.

Ethan asked mildly, "Did it take you this long to change clothes, did you get lost?"

Claire didn’t respond, silently sitting down.

Finn’s brows furrowed even tighter.

Leaving them two here, sneaking out to meet others, his sister had no sense of shame at all, who wouldn’t be angry?

"Didn’t you say you wanted to play golf? I’ll teach you." Finn spoke in a composed tone.

Claire replied coldly, "No thanks, I’m not interested."

No interest with him, had interest going with Keane?

Finn held his anger, resignedly sitting next to her.

Ethan also took a seat, unaware of the sibling dynamic, already aware she had gone with Keane before they returned.

Even knowing, his expression unchanged, comfortably accepting the facts.

Simply because it wasn’t his first time seeing them together.

With no one speaking, the atmosphere turned rather peculiar.

Claire took out her phone, prepared to ignore them, opened WeChat, and sent Keane a message, passing time.

[Did you go home?]

The reply arrived quickly [No.]

L: [Does the promised benefit still stand?]

Claire paused, replying cheerfully [Of course. Have you thought about it?]

The conversation paused for a while, then two vibrations followed.

L: [Yes.]

L: [Want to kiss you.]
