Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 400: Fit Perfectly
Mu Yuze could swear that Earth stopped spinning for a second as soon as he realized what kind of brazen request he had just made. H–H–How could he... how could he say something like that ahhh?!! Was it possible to turn back time to one minute ago so he could slap himself to death?!
Never before had Mu Yuze wished so strongly that something would happen – a phone call, a car crash or a meteorite falling from the sky to knock him out cold, anything! – so that he did not have to sit here with He Juan for a second longer. And he became all the more mortified when he saw the stunned look on He Juan’s face, clearly not expecting such a bold request coming from Mu Yuze of all people.
"I... I mean...!" Mu Yuze turned away and tried to cover his burning face from He Juan’s sight. He did not even know what he was saying as his mouth kept blabbering on and on, "No, I didn’t mean anything by that... I was just—"
"Xiao Ze..." he felt a gentle tug on his wrist and the next thing he knew, his whole body was engulfed in He Juan’s warm embrace. The man’s soft chuckle sounded above his head as he said, "So a hug is all it takes for my little bunny to stop crying, hmm? How can he be so easy to coax? There, there..." He Juan patted his back. "Are you feeling better now?"
Mu Yuze was caught off guard when He Juan’s unique smell and presence suddenly invaded his senses and his entire body grew tense involuntarily.
Ba-thump. Ba-thump.
His heart was beating so loud that he was certain it could be heard from miles away. Now that his request had actually been fulfilled, he felt so nervous that he did not know where to put his hands and could only stiffly hold it in front of his chest. He shut his eyes tight and screamed internally, half for the mortification and half for the bliss that he could get a hug twice in a row for the past twenty four hours. Moreover, it was way better this time because He Juan was the one hugging him.
"Relax," He Juan’s low and intoxicating voice murmured. His hand on Mu Yuze’s back felt like a brand, leaving a scorching trail with each tender caress. "Take a deep breath, Xiao Ze. Why are you so tense around Gege?" He laughed at the end of the sentence.
How could he not?! Mu Yuze wished he could shout it out loud in front of He Juan’s face to relieve the frenzied flutter in his chest and stomach. Though in the end, he merely took a deep breath and forced his muscles to loosen up.
And as soon as he did, he immediately melted deeper into He Juan’s arms like a block of butter heated on a pan.
Oh. His eyes widened. Oh, this feels quite... nice. Very nice, actually.
Mu Yuze had no idea whether it was his irrational side speaking, but at the moment he truly felt as if he fitted perfectly into He Juan’s arms, as if... as if this was the place where he was supposed to belong.
Pressed beside his ear was He Juan’s calm and powerful heartbeat, reverberating through his whole body like a stable anchor that kept him rooted amidst the turbulence of his emotions. Without him realizing, Mu Yuze found himself matching his own heartbeat to He Juan’s pulse by pulse, and a wonderful sense of serenity shrouded him.
He really wished that he could stay like this forever. But of course, time would not stop ticking just for him.
He quickly grew embarrassed to have He Juan comfort him like a baby and thus, he pressed his palm on He Juan’s shoulders to make some distance between them. "I’m okay now..." he murmured, unable to bring himself to meet the man’s eyes.
"Hmm..." With an intrigued hum, He Juan reached out to wipe the tear streaks on his cheeks and chuckled in mirth. "It seems like the hug works wonders."
’More like the surprise of being hugged all of a sudden,’ Mu Yuze added inwardly. He rubbed his nose and sniffled, "...Mn."
"Alright," He Juan let go of him and went to turn on the engine. He offered with a light smile, "Now that you’ve cried your heart out, how does a warm and light breakfast sound?"
He Juan drove away from the hill and took the highway route to return to the city. Around twenty minutes later, they stopped at a roadside stall to enjoy a bowl of piping hot porridge and soy milk before continuing on their journey again.
Mu Yuze secretly glanced at He Juan’s side profile. The man had his fingers curled around the wheel while the other arm bent on the windowsill to prop his head up, posing a charming and suave image. He wondered just how many cities He Juan had been into, to be so knowledgeable and proficient in leading the way around. It felt like there was nothing He Juan did not know and no problem he could not solve...
Or perhaps he was just extremely biased toward He Juan this way.
When the familiar road leading to their residential neighborhood came into sight, Mu Yuze thought that He Juan was going to drop him off before going to work, but then He Juan suddenly turned to the opposite direction, making him confused.
"Aren’t we going back?" he asked.
He Juan chuckled, "Just one more stop and then we will go back."
Mu Yuze’s doubt persisted until the car eventually halted in front of a traditional building made of wood and stone, with clean lines and low profile that gave off a sense of tranquility. Together, they walked in through the gate and crossed a large and clean yard that was decorated with sparse trees.
The sliding door to the inner building was left open and Mu Yuze could see a few people inside, all of them wearing a long-sleeved white jacket, wide-legged and loose-fitting pants with different colored sash tied around their waists – some were white, yellow and orange.
There was only one person with a black colored sash amidst the crowd, and as soon as he caught sight of He Juan waving at him, he immediately gave instruction to his students to continue by themselves before making his way toward them.
"Welcome to my humble dojo, XIU," he said, shaking hands with He Juan.
Mu Yuze took in the man’s appearance without blinking. He looked in his forties with clean cut hair and a visible scar on the corner of his left brow. He gave off an imposing and stern image that was the exact opposite of He Juan’s smiling and friendly one, though it seemed like they were on good terms with each other.
"Mr. Song, thank you for making some time for us amid your packed schedule. Ah, that’s right. Let me introduce you two to each other." He Juan placed a hand on Mu Yuze’s back, automatically causing Mr. Song’s gaze to fall on him. "This is Mu Yuze, the person I talked to you on the phone about. And Xiao Ze, this is Mr. Song Yin."
"Didn’t you say that you want to learn martial arts?" He added. "Mr. Song here has black belt in jiu-jitsu, muay thai, boxing and taekwondo. He’s also an ex-soldier. You will be able to learn so much from him." 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
