Captured By The Cold Detective (BL)-Chapter 169: Again
He Juan almost could not believe his own ears. Mu Yuze, he... was he purring right now? Oh dear God in Heaven, it was so damn... adorable! How could he be so adorable? It was totally unfair!
His heart wrenched painfully as if an invisible hand was crushing it into a ball before shoving it into his stomach cavity. Yet different from the miserable feeling earlier, this time there was a sweet taste on the base of his tongue.
Even when his omega called him ’stupid’, He Juan still felt like he could listen to this ethereal voice for a lifetime...
Goodness, he was such a goner, wasn’t he?
He could not resist burying his nose into the omega’s fluffy hair, inhaling the faint scent of his pheromones that still lingered in the air. And amidst the thick disinfectant smell in the air, it was almost divine.
Next, He Juan’s question came out in the softest of exhales, "Aren’t you... afraid?" Afraid that I will suddenly lose control and try to kill you again? He Juan did not say the last sentence out loud, but his instinct told him that Mu Yuze would understand what he wanted to say.
Mu Yuze scoffed lightly and that puff of warm air fell onto He Juan’s skin akin to a teasing and gentle caress, causing his heart to tickle. The omega’s voice came out slightly muffled. "Juan-gege, you’re so stupid. If I am afraid of you, do you think I will still be here right now?"
There was more that Mu Yuze did not say though, for fear that he would cause Juan-gege to go into shock.
No matter if it was ten years ago or now, he had never been afraid of He Juan. Wary and apprehensive, yes. After all, it was not easy for him to trust another person again after the abuse he had gone through. However, after he went through a period of observation and confirmed that He Juan did not mean him any harm, Mu Yuze started to lower his defense.
He respected He Juan, revered him, admired him, worshiped him, and later, yearned for him... but not afraid. Never. Even if He Juan really wanted to kill him earlier, he would still gladly offer his life.
He had been waiting for so long. Not to mention those seven years when He Juan went missing, just counting from when he discovered He Juan’s plight to the time when he managed to stabilize him, Mu Yuze had been waiting for so damn long.
There was a saying that if you have been waiting for something or someone for years, then one or two additional days will not matter. But he firmly disagreed with this. You have been waiting for years, now that the person is right in front of you, how can you still wait for one or two days? Let alone days, Mu Yuze was not even willing to wait for hours. Even if he had to walk through the sea of roaring flames and flying swords, he would willingly endure it in exchange for being with He Juan one second earlier.
And now that he could touch and hug Juan-gege as he pleased, why would he still hold himself back?
He Juan was taken aback, then he let out a low laugh. This time, it was a genuine laughter that came from the bottom of his heart. It was unbelievable how Mu Yuze’s simple retort could dispel the gloom in his heart so easily. Just like magic. A magic that was specially created just for him. "You’re right..." he said. "It’s me who is being stupid."
During the time when he was not lucid, he seemed to sense someone approaching him dauntlessly. No matter how hard He Juan pushed him away, he still bounced back and even pressed He Juan underneath him...
His omega was not only beautiful and fierce, but also bold and courageous.
As soon as the realization that this perfect omega was his true mate crossed his mind, He Juan felt like something had struck him hard on the chest and his eyes welled up slightly. He even thought that all of the misfortunes he had gone through – the memory loss, the hideous scars all over his body, and now this unfortunate accident – all of them had been exchanged for the chance to meet him. For the luck to have this perfect little omega as his mate.
He Juan’s throat constricted sharply and his heart was full to the point of bursting, brimming with all the adoration and affection he felt for this man. He moved to adjust Mu Yuze’s position and hugged the omega closer to his chest, and breathed, "I love you..."
He could sense Mu Yuze’s shock from the way his body stiffened and how his breathing had ceased sharply. Feeling confused, he lowered his head and saw that the omega’s eyes were tinged red. He looked one second from bursting into tears. Again. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
However, He Juan did not lose his cool this time. He could somehow tell that Mu Yuze was not used to hearing these three words. There was even a possibility that... he had never heard it before.
Stunned, He Juan could not help but ask to confirm, "Have I... never said it before?"
Just looking at how Mu Yuze’s lashes trembled, He Juan could already guess that the answer was no. He Juan was flabbergasted, his mouth hanging open in disbelief. How... How was it possible that he had never confessed his love to Mu Yuze before? If it was him... he would definitely shower this little omega with many words and affirmations of love until he got sick of it!
He Juan was distressed, and at the same time he also wanted to beat himself up. "Why am I so lousy? I haven’t marked you yet, so it means that we are in the courting period, right? How can I never say it to you? Just what the hell have I been doing?" he grumbled under his breath.
The more He Juan complained, the more displeased he was. His little omega was so good, so brave and obedient. He deserved to be loved, cherished and adored. Treated like he was the world’s most precious omega.
Past He Juan, you are such a disappointment!
"I’m so sorry..." He Juan reflected on his mistake and uttered morosely. "I have been doing such a bad job. From now on, I am going to say it again and again, as many times as you like. Okay?"
Mu Yuze peered up at him through his lashes, startled. Maybe because there was a layer of moisture on his eyes, it made his dark pupils look more radiant than ever. They were astoundingly brilliant as if there was a sea of stars glimmering within. "As many times as I like...?" He asked with a hopeful tone.
He Juan nodded firmly. "As many times as you like."
Mu Yuze blinked and his cheeks slowly flushed in an alluring pink hue. "Then... again."
He Juan chuckled. He took off his oxygen mask, leaned toward Mu Yuze’s ear and whispered oh so softly and lovingly, his lips caressing the omega’s adorably crimson earlobe. "I love you so, so much, Xiao Ze..."
Mu Yuze’s breath hitched on his throat and his entire person flushed deep red akin to a boiled lobster. He reached out to embrace He Juan’s torso and leaned intimately toward his Alpha. The more he listened to it, the more he could not get enough. With his lashes quivering shyly, he whispered, "Again."
He Juan complied happily. He uttered those three magical words again and again as though trying to make up for the lost time.

Contrasting to the warm and serene atmosphere in the ICU ward, it was tense outside as if the storm had just announced its arrival.
In response to Doctor Tang’s anxious inquiry for the nth time, Jia Molei finally lost his temper and snapped, "Just leave them a little peaceful time alone, won’t you? What? Are you going to break the bad news to them as soon as they wake up? How do you think they will react if they find out that there is a high possibility that Mu Yuze’s gland will reject He Juan’s pheromone injection after this incident? Or are you going to tell them that they can’t mate because there is a chance that Mu Yuze’s body will show severe rejection and he can even die because of it?!"
Doctor Tang was taken aback by the barrage of Jia Molei’s questions. He wiped the spit that flew to his face, his expression solemn and grave. "I know that it’s unpleasant to hear, especially when they are true mates to begin with. But don’t you think they deserve to know this sooner or later?"
Jia Molei’s jaws tensed and his fists were clenched tightly. Just as he was going to retort, his phone rang in a timely manner. He gave it a cursory glance and saw that it was the lawyer he had contacted to take on Wu Yuan’s case.
Jia Molei’s eyelids suddenly jumped without any rhyme or reason. The lawyer had initially agreed, so why was he calling him now? He suddenly had a bad feeling about this and thus, he excused himself to answer the phone.
"Hello? Yes, no problem. We can speak now. Wait... what? You can’t take on the case anymore? Why?!" Veins throbbed on Jia Molei’s forehead as his tone raised higher and higher. He must have stepped out with the wrong foot this morning. Otherwise, why would there be one bad news after another?
However, after he listened to the other party’s explanation, he was immediately stunned with a disbelieving look on his face. "What... did you just say? They really found traces of drugs in Wu Yuan’s blood and urine?!"
