’But I am not teasing you’ – the words almost slipped out of Mu Yuze’s mouth only to be held back at the very last second.

Peering up at He Juan through his thick lashes, Mu Yuze could tell that the Alpha was deadly serious despite the smile on his face. He swallowed, hard. Rather than fearful, this kind of confession made him feel... thrilled. Exhilarated. The cell in his entire body trilled and sang at the prospect of surrendering his everything under the Alpha’s mercy. He even had the urge to retort so that he could test where He Juan’s bottom line lay.

But in the end... his skin was not thick enough to attempt something so damn bold. Not when they were in broad daylight where the neighbors could easily see into the car. He abruptly recalled He Juan saying that his car windows were not tinted and at the realization of that, his entire body turned stiff. He swept his nervous gaze around.

Nobody had caught them in the act, right...?

"Don’t worry," He Juan gently pinched Mu Yuze’s chin to draw his attention. He had easily guessed the direction of Mu Yuze’s thought. And the notion that the omega could still feel bashful at a time like this amused him to no end. "If there are people around, do you think Gege will let you do as you please?" His tone contained endless mirth, and Mu Yuze knew that he was being teased again.

However, He Juan was really telling the truth. As early as when Mu Yuze suddenly pulled him into a kiss, he had grown alert of their surroundings for fear that someone would see them. He did not want Mu Yuze’s reputation in the neighborhood to be in shambles. His omega’s dignity was infinitely more important than his own lust and desire.

"Answer me," He Juan demanded in a soft yet gentle tone as he rubbed his finger on Mu Yuze’s chin, watching as a tint of pink spread from the point of touch. "Will you tease Gege again? Hmm?"

Mu Yuze pursed his lips. The place where He Juan was touching felt very, very hot and the heat quickly exploded to his entire body. His face was so red as if it was dripping blood. His keen instinct told him that if he did not comply with He Juan’s words right now, then he would really end up in bed for the rest of the day. When all was said and done, it was not only He Juan who had been looking forward to their date.

"...I won’t." He decided to take a step back. For now.

"Good boy." He Juan’s lips tugged into a satisfied smile as he ruffled Mu Yuze’s fluffy hair. They took a few long minutes to suppress their own desires, then after making sure that they had not forgotten anything, He Juan started the car. He flashed an excited grin at the person beside him. "Ready for our first date?"

Mu Yuze held the bouquet in his hands. He lowered his lashes and the flush on his earlobes, which had barely subsided, deepened again. "...Mn."

He Juan’s plan for the date was simple. Both of them preferred serene and tranquil places so He Juan immediately crossed out any crowded location such as shopping district, amusement park, arcade or karaoke. At first, he hesitated between going to an aquarium, art museum or taking a hike, but in the end, it was Mu Yuze who made the final decision.

Today, the weather was in complete sync with He Juan’s mood – bright, clear and sunny. Fluffy clouds drifted across the clear blue sky and even though the sun was out, the air around the mountain range was crisp and fresh.

He Juan took a deep breath and felt his body and soul being washed anew. It was so comfortable that his smile had not ceased ever since. He tilted his head and saw Mu Yuze who had no problem at keeping up with him, and his smile became all the more brilliant. As expected, his Xiao Ze was truly the most special of all. He offered a hand for the omega. "Careful, the area ahead is quite steep and uneven."

Mu Yuze cast him a speechless look. He wanted to say that compared to the terrain he had trekked during years of his job as a criminal investigator, this mountain which was specially opened for recreation was not difficult at all. He would not even trip even if he walked with his eyes closed. However, when he looked at He Juan’s crinkling smile and the hand offered to him, he found himself unable to utter even a word.

A soft breeze fleeted by, ruffling the Alpha’s hair that was tied in a long braid. Sunlight filtered in through the towering treetops and landed on those gentle silver eyes, making them look particularly bright and tender. At that moment, nothing in this world could be compared to a sliver of this man’s beauty. Mu Yuze’s heart drummed in his chest and he quietly slipped his hand into He Juan’s. "...Mn."

He Juan’s large palm immediately encased the omega’s smaller and slender one, then his long fingers filled the empty gaps between Mu Yuze’s until their hands were interlocked tightly. He Juan knew that Mu Yuze was more capable and domineering than any other Omegas – even Betas and Alphas – but he just could not help but want to treat him better and better. And leading him as they climbed up the mountainous path was one of them.

He wished Mu Yuze could turn into pocket-sized so he could hold the man protectively within the space of his palms. He Juan could not bear to see any harm coming to him, otherwise... he really had no idea how he would react.

Smiling, He Juan took another deep inhale. "Do you like it here, Xiao Ze? It’s so peaceful and beautiful, isn’t it?"

Mu Yuze nodded in full approval. There was a rarely seen serenity and contentment on the way his brows relaxed. "I am not very good with people," he reasoned.

Even though this mountain was a recreational area, not many people visited it aside from those with related hobbies or people like Mu Yuze who disliked crowds with every fiber of his being. Like He Juan said, it was indeed very peaceful and he liked it very much.

Once in a while, they would cross paths with other people. They would sneak a few glances at the couple, presumably in awe of their high attractiveness index. After all, Mu Yuze looked very much like a cool and domineering Alpha at a glance, and such Alpha-Alpha couple was rarely seen before. However, those gazes merely contained a hint of mild curiosity – not disturbing at all. At least, those people were not nosy enough to gossip right in front of their faces. Mu Yuze simply treated them as if they did not exist and fixated all of his attention on the person beside him.

"What a coincidence, me too." He Juan chuckled briefly.
