Captive Mate BL-Chapter 546: + - +
Chapter 546: +Chapter 546+
Silvia had seen the last look Angelo had given her, it was one of total, helpless terror, and although it was an oh-so-bad idea, she slowly rose to her feet.
The gun was pointed right against her head now, making Cain struggle under the men who still hadn’t let him up despite the guns pointed at him.
Silvia didn’t look at him, staring down the man who had her gun pointed at him. "Take me along, I’ll play nice." She asked, but there was a pleading tone in her voice and her tortured eyes.
"No stowaways," He turned her down mercilessly, pointing the gun at her leg and shooting her right in the knee.
Cain roared out Silvia’s name, throwing off the men on him with ease, knocking one out as he was thrown against the wall.
The man who had shot Silvia took rapid steps back, pointing his gun at the Alpha, who was like a wild animal as he charged forward. But he didn’t come to him, crumbling to his knees in front of Silvia, who had fallen to the ground silently, her hateful black eyes fixed on him.
He didn’t take another shot, their mission truly wasn’t to kill her, but he had to make sure she didn’t try anything dumb like following them. The Alpha with her was completely focused on her, so he didn’t bother with him, gesturing his men to leave.
In the living room, Angelo froze with wide, terrified eyes, he didn’t try to attack the men pulling him along, but he struggled hard enough to get them to completely stop.
"I-I heard a gunshot," He mumbled, trembling all over.
One of the men relented at the tears in his eyes, despite how dangerous Angelo was, he was still an Omega, an attractive one at that. There were very few Alphas who could ignore a distressed Omega with tears in their eyes.
"Sounded like a door slam to me," He lied, "Come on, we need to get going."
Angelo let himself be pulled away, but it was clear he didn’t believe the masked man’s words, completely disoriented. Silvia couldn’t die... not again... not again...
The men taking him shared a look over his head, walking to the front door with Angelo in between them, the bodies of dead men laid out in the front of the house.
As they stepped out of the ruined front doors, one of them struck him on the temple without warning, making him go limp. The Alpha that had spoken to him earlier caught his slight figure with ease, taking him over to one of the several blacked-out cars.
Back in Angelo’s bedroom, Silvia’s jaw was clenched as Cain stemmed the bleeding. There wasn’t much of it, thankfully, but her knee had shattered, there was likely no fixing it.
"Get me a phone, I need to call Asher." She muttered.
Cain looked up at her, his handsome face pale like he had been shot instead. "Not Nikolai?"
Silvia had a feeling that Angelo being taken had something to do with Nikolai, she glanced down at her leg, she had gotten too relaxed. How the hell was she supposed to call Nikolai only to tell him she lost Angelo?
"Yeah, him too." She tagged on, her vision swimming, her leg hurt like a bitch.
Cain rose to his feet, his reluctance to leave evident on his dark face, "I’m calling an ambulance." He grumbled as he walked off, wary of moving her so he didn’t further exacerbate her injury.
Silvia just sighed, she didn’t bother stopping him. Angelo would be safe, he would be saved, she couldn’t let herself think otherwise. It was also why she needed to get treated, she couldn’t let Angelo see her so beaten down, despite giving himself up for their sake.
Cain moved fast, he knew not to call up any random hospital, or they would have to explain the dead bodies on the lot. He gave her her phone and then walked to a corner to make the call, leaving her to herself.
Silvia rang Asher up, the Mafia King picking immediately, "Luis Caddel made a substantial move. Angelo is gone."
Asher went quiet on the other end and then cursed, "Nikolai isn’t going to be happy to hear that.... Are you alright? You sound strained." He paused to ask, worry in his tone.
"The bastards shot out my knee to keep me from tailing them, I’ll call Nikolai after this." She explained briefly.
"Do that," Asher agreed, but there was an absentmindedness to his tone, "I’ll call Davian, then I’ll come over."
"I’ll probably be at the hospital by the time you get here, Cain is deadset on that," She said dryly.
Asher acknowledged her and then hung up to set things up on his end.
Silvia glanced down at her phone, bracing herself for the next phone call. Nikolai really wasn’t going to like what she had to say. The call rang, and just like with Asher, she expected an immediate answer, when it didn’t happen, she frowned.
The call rung unpicked, beeping to signal the end of the call.
Cain walked over, pain and worry in the pale depths of his eyes as he looked over Silvian’s bloody leg, her lacy nightdress sticky with blood. "What’s wrong?"
"Nikolai isn’t picking up," She replied, her frown deepening as she tried calling again and got the same result. "Something isn’t right."
Cain sat by her side amidst the blood, the injured and dead men dragged out by the others when they left.
"I need to call Asher again," Silvia muttered, more to herself. freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Cain moved to sit behind her so she could lean against him while they waited for the ambulance to show up.
Asher’s line was busy, no doubt speaking to Davian, so she had to wait. She leaned back with a sigh against Cain’s sturdy shoulder. "Angelo looked so scared, I need to get him back."
Cain didn’t think so, the Omega was pretty dangerous and pretty resourceful. He could hold his own until he was rescued, and with three Mafia Kings pitching in, that would happen sooner rather than later.
Silvia, on the other hand worried him, the man who had shot her was cruel, he was worried she would never be able to use her leg again.
When Silvia finally got through to Asher, she explained what was going on, and the Mafia King wasn’t pleased to hear it either. Nikolai blowing up in anger would have been a much better alternative to complete silence.
