Captive Mate BL-Chapter 545: + - +
Chapter 545: +Chapter 545+
Silvia backed away but didn’t drop her gun, Cain swiftly coming over to her side. He had locked the door behind him, but it wouldn’t keep the men on the other side out for long.
"Resourceful, aren’t you?" She tutted, the gun in her hand unwavering. "Who sent you?"
To her surprise, the men put down their guns, taking the initiative to reply to her questions. She couldn’t say if that was a good thing or not.
"Unimportant. Hand over Angelo and we’ll leave quietly." One of them stepped forward to say.
Silvia snorted, her reaction time impeccable. "Not a fucking chance," She muttered calmly, pulling the trigger and stepping back to close the door.
Her aim was perfect, the man who had spoken to her dropping to the floor. The sound of muffled gunshots going off behind the false door.
Angelo walked over, he had busied himself with grabbing weapons, but it didn’t stop him from hearing the exchange Silvia had with their assailants.
"Let me," He said said quietly, holding her worried gaze.
"I’m not letting that happen," Silvia said through gritted teeth, walking forward. They were trapped in the room, and although the men behind the false door couldn’t get in, as long as they stayed there, the three of them also couldn’t get out.
Angelo knew that would be her answer, but he also wasn’t letting her get injured or worse for his sake. He couldn’t say who would want him - for a moment, his fingers tingled as he thought about it being Nikolai.
But... Nikolai wouldn’t kill Silvia’s men, they would come unarmed.
Silvia intended to deal with the men behind the door, they needed to get out or they would be sitting ducks.
The door broke off its hinges underneath the hits and kicks from men on the other side. Cain had managed to put a few out of commission, but they seemed to be no end to them.
Silvia’s expression was grim, no matter the circumstances, she wouldn’t give up Angelo. But there was something that deeply unsettled her about this, the fact that they were here for Angelo after Luis Caddel started making moves was too much of a coincidence.
Her gun went off rapidly, Cain doing the same right next to her. She was dismayed when they didn’t do the same, charging at them unarmed despite the damage they were taking.
They really wanted to take Angelo alive, no matter the cost, it made Silvia go cold with terror, missing her last two shots.
Eventually, they ran out of bullets, and there was no time to reload. Silvia fought better with her hands anyway, she bashed the butt of her gun into someone who came for her, proud of Cain for focusing on the fight instead of her.
The door helped out some, only so many could come through the door at a time, but if this kept up and the men kept pouring in, they would be overwhelmed.
Angelo fought better in one-on-one combat, so he was taking down two people for every one Silvia and Cain took down. He went for lethal attacks, his sweater getting stained with blood, much to his disapproval, black braid whipping around.
He would have gone with the men in a heartbeat, getting distracted by Silvia’s grunt of pain. One of the men in her blind spot had punched her right in the face, dazing her.
Cain cursed and went after the masked man responsible, driving his knee into his spine, which left him open to be tackled down, another immediately piling on top to hold him down.
"Cain!" Silvia called for him, cursing herself for her own weakness.
But all the men needed was a moment of weakness to surround them, Cain pinned down to the ground while Silvia was quickly subdued.
The rest hastily put distance between themselves and Angelo, because while Cain and Silvia fought with their bare hands, Angelo left bloody corpses behind.
Angelo’s chest heaved under his sweater, it had slipped off a shoulder in the fight, his loose braid coming undone. In the room that was rapidly brightening as the sun rose, his pale green eyes seemed to glow, helpless rage surging like a white, frothing storm.
"Let them go," He bit out each word, his tactical knife held tight in slender fingers.
"Come over quietly and we will," One of the men who wasn’t busy keeping Silvia and Cain captive spoke to him.
"Fine," He gritted out, breathless. "If you hurt them, though, you’ll regret it."
The man didn’t doubt it, the Omega was incredibly dangerous, and they couldn’t use brute force on him, he would rather not lose more men.
Silvia had been pushed to the ground with her face down, her arms pinned behind her. "Don’t fucking touch him," She snarled, struggling to break free.
"Shut it," One of the men cut in, stomping on her face.
Angelo’s eyes flashed, moving quicker than anyone could predict or react to.
The man who stepped on Silvia dropped down next to her, gurgling as he struggled to pull out the knife in his throat, bleeding out dangerously.
"I warned you," Angelo said calmly.
"For fuck’s sake," The man he addressed cursed, taking out a gun and pointing it at Silvia. "Take him out."
Angelo reluctantly let himself be taken out, looking back at Silvia whose glassy black eyes were fixed on him. The men on her got up, but the gun kept her from moving.
Silvia’s hands were clenched into fists, biting down on her inner cheek hard enough to bleed. She knew that if she made a move, she would be shot and Angelo would still be taken, she needed to be alive to save him.
Angelo panicked as he was taken out of the door, the image of Silvia on the ground merged with the deeply buried image of his mom bleeding out on their living room floor.
For a split moment, he was back to being ten, locked up in a cupboard, while he could hear his mom’s death.
He hesitated, his feet rooted to the ground, but the men around him weren’t generous, ruthlessly dragging him along.
