Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 618 - 619: Where Did That Little Bastard Go?
Min Xin, being the cunning old fox he was, would not back down so easily. He looked at Bo Xichen. "So let’s put it this way, I would like to see Dr. Gu now."
Bo Xichen looked up and smiled. "Dr. Gu has finished her workday."
"Is that so?" Min Xin said through gritted teeth. "That is very unfortunate."
He pursed his lips, still gritting his teeth. "Very well then."
Bo Xichen said in a very accommodating tone, "Mr. Min, you should concentrate on your recovery. Besides, how did Anxi get in touch with the great thief? Her health has always been delicate; she’s constantly trying to build up her strength."
Min Xin observed Bo Xichen, realizing his previous assessment of this young man had been somewhat inaccurate. He used to think Bo Xichen was exceptionally capable but perhaps too righteous, not quite suited for the circles of power and influence. It seemed fine for him to be a quiet doctor. But now, he no longer thought so. Bo Xichen was merely low-key; perhaps the entire Bo Family was low-key... That was probably how they had maintained their prosperity and prestige for centuries.
Min Xin chuckled. "Hasn’t she always been a bundle of energy?"
Wherever there was action, Gu Anxi was sure to be found. It was plain as day; she had her hand in everything.
Bo Xichen touched his forehead, looking very apologetic. "If she’s causing Mr. Min such a headache, I’ll make sure she stays away from you as much as possible in the future."
Min Xin’s heart skipped a beat. "What does that mean?"
Could it be that Zhou Yu had also disappeared, vanished from sight?
Panic surged through him.
Bo Xichen feigned surprise. "But didn’t Mr. Min say you didn’t want to see her?"
Min Xin was left speechless.
He glanced at his Secretary-General—Wang Yuan’s eyes conveyed the message: A direct confrontation is out of the question right now. King Jingyao is still present; escalating this will only lead to negative consequences.
Min Xin trusted Wang Yuan a great deal and decided to concede.
Bo Xichen was not the type to push his advantage. He nodded slightly. "Take care, Mr. Min."
However, Bo Xichen didn’t even stand up, a clear indication of how grievously Min Xin had offended the Bo Family. Fury seethed within Min Xin; having been repeatedly provoked, the wound on his shoulder actually began to throb with pain again...
With a dark expression, he walked towards the operating room door, only to run head-on into King Jingyao.
The elder brother’s face was even grimmer. Min Xin, always aware of his subordinate position, asked in a low voice, "Is the Old Gentleman alright?"
King Jingyao snapped, "Go see for yourself. The Old Gentleman probably had a fright; he’s not doing well. I’m here to get Xichen to take a look at him."
Min Xin went immediately.
Once King Jingyao saw him leave, he quickly walked into the operating room. Upon entering, he saw a neat row of scalpels and was startled. "Xichen, was this your doing?"
Bo Xichen chuckled and stood up. "Just dealt with a little trouble."
King Jingyao glanced behind him, and Wang Jingchuan immediately cleared everyone out. Once they were alone, King Jingyao lowered his voice. "What about that little bastard? What happened? She stole the item, didn’t she?"
She’s really something else! My own father was conned into coming to the hospital to cover for her! The Old Master has such a foul and eccentric temper; I’ve never seen him protect anyone so blindly, regardless of right or wrong. What kind of bewitching potion did that little bastard feed my father?
When he asked this, Bo Xichen hesitated for a moment, then cleared his throat. "Yes, she did it."
His elder brother exploded with anger. "That goddamn brat! She’s unbelievably audacious! Does she have any idea how many security personnel are in that clubhouse? Or how sophisticated its security system is? Not to mention Min Xin was there, waiting for her to walk right into his trap!"
