Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 297 - 298: Good Morning! Why are you wearing Pinru’s clothes?
Gu Changqing smiled faintly, resettled in his seat, and fastened his seatbelt.
In a moment, the car vanished into the night like a shooting star.
Gu Changqing lived alone in a high-end apartment, approximately 300 square meters, and elaborately furnished.
Of course, it also resembled a model home, devoid of any personal touches or signs of life.
As soon as Ding Ning stepped inside, she wanted to look around; it was her first visit. But before she had the chance, the man pinned her against the door...
"Gu Changqing," she said, looking up, her eyes somewhat dazed, a stark contrast to her usual demeanor.
The man responded absently. At a time like this, no man would be in the mood to chat with a woman.
Ding Ning’s voice trembled. "Gu Changqing, you have to treat me well."
He raised his eyes, looking at her in surprise.
She’s... 28, isn’t she? How could this be?
Ding Ning turned her face away, avoiding his gaze.
Gu Changqing’s voice was gentle. "I know."
The next day, Gu Anxi went to school. The computer science department was holding exams, the kind that required students to use a computer.
Professor Liu, the department head, was personally proctoring the exam.
Gu Anxi entered the computer lab and, as luck would have it, was assigned a seat right next to Fang Ming.
Everyone stared at them. After all, Gu Anxi had broken Fang Ming’s ribs just a few days prior. Now, they were all eagerly anticipating some drama. Would Fang Ming seize this chance to give Gu Anxi a hard time? they wondered.
During large lectures, Fang Ming would sit near Gu Anxi, though he always used to keep an aisle between them. Now, they were truly sitting shoulder to shoulder.
Fang Ming had seen plenty of beautiful girls and had even been infatuated before, but he had never been so utterly flustered, especially since the girl in question already had a boyfriend—a committed one at that.
Gu Anxi was as nonchalant as ever, resting her head on her hand and twirling a pen.
Fang Ming leaned in and whispered, "If you run into any problems later, you can ask me."
He’s so audacious! Gu Anxi thought.
Her hand stilled, and she slowly turned her head to stare at Fang Ming.
Fang Ming offered a faint smile. "I’m pretty good with computers."
Gu Anxi just hummed in acknowledgment and resumed twirling her pen.
Professor Liu felt a complex mix of emotions. She had been instructed by Tang Yuan to make things difficult for this student, but Gu Anxi was proving to be a real handful.
I don’t particularly like her, Professor Liu thought, but Gu Anxi is Principal Shen’s favorite.
Before the exam, Principal Shen had made his wishes clear, "We can’t let our Nobel laureate fail. Professor Liu, since Chu Yan isn’t here, have Fang Ming sit with her. If there’s anything she really struggles with, let Fang Ming teach her."
Professor Liu had been skeptical at the time, "She broke Fang Ming’s ribs. With Fang Ming’s proud personality, would he even agree to that?"
Principal Shen had smiled knowingly. "Call Fang Ming in and ask him."
Dubiously, Professor Liu had summoned Fang Ming. To her utter astonishment, he had agreed immediately. She found it quite incredible.
Now, watching the two of them, she felt a complicated unease, as if something wasn’t quite right.
Gu Anxi, naturally, was unfazed. She did as she pleased, and no one at Beicheng University could control her.
But why would Fang Ming agree to associate with her? Professor Liu mused. Doesn’t Fang Ming despise cheating more than anything?
Professor Liu was thoroughly perplexed. While keeping an eye on their interactions, she assigned the exam tasks.
Before starting, Fang Ming glanced at Gu Anxi and murmured again, "Ask me if you don’t understand." 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
Gu Anxi looked at him but said nothing, her long, slender fingers already flying across the keyboard.
Her hands were elegant and captivating, making even the act of taking an exam a visually pleasing sight. Fang Ming stole another glance.
Then, he too began his exam. He finished it in half an hour, well within the allotted one-hour timeframe.
He planned to use the remaining time to help Gu Anxi.
This was—after all—an order from Principal Shen.
However, when he looked up, Gu Anxi had already submitted her exam and was walking out of the classroom.
Fang Ming frowned, quickly submitted his own, and followed her out.
The sight of them leaving one after the other made everyone in the room turn their heads.
Someone whispered, "Hey, do you think Fang Ming likes Gu Anxi?"
"No way! Fang Ming likes Gu Mingzhu."
"That can’t be right... Haven’t you noticed the way Fang Ming looks at Gu Anxi these days? His gaze is different."
"Ah, maybe Gu Anxi knocked him silly when she hit him?"
Of course, Fang Ming wasn’t silly. He followed Gu Anxi out and finally caught up to her outside the academic building.
"Gu Anxi," he called out.
Gu Anxi, listening to music through her headphones, didn’t hear him.
Fang Ming stepped forward and grabbed her arm.
Gu Anxi turned her head. Fang Ming instantly recoiled, snatching his hand back as if he’d been burned.
He stuffed his hands into his pockets, standing ramrod straight, a hint of his usual petulant pride on his face. "I wanted to tell you, helping you with the exam was Principal Shen’s idea. Don’t get the wrong impression."
Gu Anxi replied coolly, "I won’t."
With that, she turned and walked off, her demeanor even colder than Fang Ming’s.
Fang Ming clenched his fists and hurried after her. "Gu Anxi, how did you do on the exam?"
She glanced sideways at him.
He actually pulled off her headphones. "If you fail, Principal Shen will blame me."
Gu Anxi said slowly, "Well then, congratulations are in order for you; I got exactly a passing grade."
Fang Ming frowned. "Why?"
"No particular reason! Just because I felt like it." Gu Anxi snatched her headphones back from his hand. "We’re not that close."
Fang Ming was so furious he wanted to hit someone.
He had never been—so utterly disregarded by a girl before!
Even Gu Mingzhu wouldn’t dare to be so dismissive to his face.
Young Master Fang stormed off in a huff.
When Principal Shen asked him how Gu Anxi had done on her exam, Fang Ming recalled her words and replied nonchalantly, "She passed."
Principal Shen patted his chest in relief. "That’s good, that’s good."
Then, slinging an arm around Fang Ming’s shoulder, he said, "Fang Ming, my boy, I know this whole thing put you in a tough spot and was unfair to you. So, if there’s anything you want, just name it. As long as it’s within my power, I’ll make it happen."
Fang Ming looked at Principal Shen and said suddenly, "I want Gu Anxi to join the basketball club."
Principal Shen laughed. "That little thing? What’s so difficult about that? I’ll talk to her when I have a moment. She has to give me some face for that."
Saying this, Principal Shen glanced around to ensure they were alone, then winked conspiratorially. "Young Fang, tell me honestly, have you fallen for Gu Anxi?"
Fang Ming, hands shoved in his pockets, said stiffly, "No!"
Principal Shen smiled knowingly. "I won’t tell Old Fang."
Fang Ming hesitated for a moment before finally managing to say, "Gu Anxi already has a boyfriend."
Then he walked out of the principal’s office.
It took Principal Shen a moment to understand. So, it wasn’t that Fang Ming didn’t like Gu Anxi because she had a boyfriend... it was that he *couldn’t* like her because of it! Then, if she didn’t have a boyfriend, would he dare to admit his feelings? Hahaha, Young Fang is truly audacious! Fang Ming likes someone! I need to call Old Fang and tell him right now!
Principal Shen was quite the gossip. True to his word, he immediately dialed Old Fang’s number and eagerly recounted everything.
