Building My Guild With A Blank Scroll-Chapter 45: Mansion Cottage
Chapter 45: Mansion Cottage
Vans’s eyes twitched and suddenly shot open, his breathing rapid and heavy. His eyes darted around, and turning to look to the left, he was met with a glare.
"Mia?" He mumbled.
"You—"
"Argh." He tried to move his hands to get up, yet a sharp pain in his bones held him back.
"Don’t move." Mia cautioned softly, her angry stare fading away as she placed both of her hands on his. The runes engraved on her palm glowed with a green light.
’How could I have missed a spot.’ Mia wondered, the green light slowly fading away, though she wasn’t done.
Vans could see her struggling with channelling her energy, her aura unstable. She looked exhausted with bags under her eyes, having kept watch over them all night.
"Mia?" His wife turned to look at him, the glow of the runes completely fading as her focus had been broken.
"No no," She went back to draw her energy to the runes, however, it wasn’t working out. Frustration could be seen all over her face when a hand reached for the back of her head.
"Mia, it’s alright. You’ve done enough." He drew her closer, and she easily gave in, laying her head on his broad chest. She quickly drifted off to sleep, feeling at peace in his arms. Eventually, Vans unable to move an inch in order not to disturb her, also drifted away into the arms of sleep.

*KRACKA-BOOM!
*RIIIIINNNIIIG!
His ears rang from the explosion as he woke up, being knocked out when it occurred. His vision now blurred by the fog which hung up in the air. Caused from the outburst a large amount of spiritual energy. After all, differing auras clashed with each other, worsening the chaos.
On the ground he could feel a weight on him, one so heavy, he felt his legs being crushed underneath. And any attempts to pull them out seemed to worsen his plight instead.
*WHOOSH!
*CLANG- CLANG!
Arrows could be seen flying past with a golden aura around them, as they were being blocked away by another’s weapon meters away. The battle persisted as one side tried to close the distance while another increased it.
"Mo-an! Arch!"
*SWOOSH!
He could see arrows flying past him, bringing one thought into his head. ’This is not good.’ Soon his mind going to the person who was firing the arrows. ’Alden, I have to help him out before he gets close.’
"Arch! Mo-an!!" He called out louder, desperate to get up and join in although he could barely feel his legs, locked under the dead jaguar.
*SNIFF!
*SNIFF!
"Picked up a scent?" The dark-haired figure mounted up on the jaguar beast said, grooming the fur of the beast with his hands. Just then, his ears twitched, having heard something which sounded like his name.
"Mo-an!! Arch!!" The words were louder now, the rider recognizing who it was in an instant. As turning the beast in the direction of the voice, he suddenly bent down with two arrows flying past him.
"Tham!" He called out, his vision limited and being unable to pinpoint his actual location.
"I’m here, Arch!" Tham’s voice was heard again, clearer and from the direction he was heading towards. Thus continuing in that direction, he finally reached him, noticing one of the Jaguars belonging to Alden dead and on him.
"Brother!" Arch exclaimed, dismounting the beast and coming to his aid. "I couldn’t get back with the others without finding your first."
"Hah, thanks brother, I would have died out here."
"Your legs, I should get the beast off it." Arch stood up from him, his eyes lighting up with the gray aura of Iron as he grabbed a hold of the beast. Manipulating his energy to his arms and legs, more going to the former as they began to bulge. He raised the dead beast with all he’d got.
"Tham, pull yourself out!" At his words, Tham slowly and carefully backed away, the pain in his legs written all over his face. He gritted his teeth hard and dragged himself away from it.
*THUD!
The beast fell back with a heavy thud. With his arms akimbo, he turned towards the other, sighing heavily.
"Let’s get out of —"
*THUNK!
*THUNK!
*THUNK!
Arrows were heard piercing through flesh and bones, Arch and Tham’s eyes widening as their pupils shrunk.
’Alden?’ They both thought at the same time.
*ROAARRR!
A guttural roar was heard from the beast, the arrows not stepping there.
*THUNK!
*CRACK!
It had hit a vital spot now, its head as the arrow penetrated its skull out on the other side. A golden aura could be seen before it dissipated from the arrow.
Staggering, blood splattering all over, the two watched it still in shock when Tham yelled out to the other.
"Arch! Run!!!" His words snapped the dark-haired figure standing before him back to reality. His gaze fell on Tham then back on the beast, which now staggered sideways— where it would fall obvious to both of them.
"I’m not leaving you, brother!" Arch’s eyes lit up gray, his muscles bulging all over, opening up his heartcore to draw in energy from the surroundings, he was going all in.
"Arch are you crazy, leave here I’ll survive." Tham lifted his hands, only to be disappointed seeing his storage ring off his finger. His gaze shifted to where he was, he could see it right under the other’s feet.
"Don’t be a fool, the faster you get out of here, the less I’d hold it back," Arch yelled out at him, raising his hands towards the beast as it came falling back down.
*THUNK!
"Is Alden out of his mind!!" The arrow made the fall faster, not giving him a chance to drag himself away.
Seeing this, Arch had a change of plans, as he turned towards Tham and jumped. Manipulating all his aura to back, reinforcing his spine and skull got on top of the other. Shielding him, the beast fell with a heavy thud, the two crushed underneath.
************
’Arch!’ Tham’s eyes shot open with a start as he sat up, the bright rays of sunlight hit his eyes causing a sharp pain to run through his skull.
Covering his eyes with his hands to block out the light, everything was unfamiliar to him, and he could feel a bed underneath him.
’Where am I?’ He wondered, and as his eyes scanned the room he could see a figure sitting beside a body he could quite recognize. As if noticing someone was looking in her direction, she turned back with her eyes meeting his gaze.
"Hello there." The young sweet voice of the girl was heard as she smiled at him cheerfully.
"Welcome to my Grandpa’s Mansion."
