Chapter 346: Getting Rid Of The Bad Eggs

The elves who remained in their home watched in awe as the golden-blonde-haired lady took down a few of Carmela’s knights herself. According to the rumors, she had killed the eleven councils using a sword made from her vines, some said her eyes were pitch black, reminiscent to that of an inescapable abyss, while others informed them about the ominous change of her vines, but from what they were seeing, and what they sensed, her powers were rather conflicted.

The elf children had their eyes wide open, as it is their first time witnessing a female take control. In their little community, their females were very-well pampered, so they weren’t allowed to raise weapons or use their magic for violent means, but after watching Samantha’s display of powers, they too wanted to be just like her.

"So cool!" One of the female children said with enthusiasm, but her mother was quick to cover her eyes and pull her away from what was happening outside.

Brian had been of great assistance, but aside from the trespassers who managed to slip through the barrier, it was completely silent on the outside.

"Release us!!" One of the knights yelled in fury as Samantha’s vine hoisted him up by his feet, leaving him dangling helplessly upside down. "The fuck are this things?? Hey! Don’t think your little trickery can scare me! If you want an easy death then you better listen and–"

The Knight’s words were cut short when the ground suddenly trembled, and he let out what sounded like a girly scream when a chomper plant emerged malevolently from below. He no longer made efforts to free himself from the vine and chose to climb it instead, saving himself from those razor sharp teeth that snapped violently in his direction.

"How many evil plants do you control?" Brian was at a loss for words, but Samantha didn’t think her baby plants were evil at all. She moved towards her pet chomper and gave its stem a loving pat, easing the hungry-looking plant that just wanted to devour the knight that folded himself against the vines that kept him hoisted up.

"Get that thing away from me!!!" The frightened knight glanced in the direction of Samantha who was able to soothe her pet chomper. She turned deaf ears to the knight’s indirect plea, her anger for what they had done overshadowing the mercy in her heart. It was a strange feeling, quite peculiar, or should she call it malice?

"You see, this is a new plant of mine. It has been waiting to seek revenge for all the plants you killed during my escape with the boat. Do you recall? At dawn, when you and your fellow knights sliced through my baby chompers? This little guy here has been waiting for a day like this. It’s equally very hungry too." Samantha continued to stroke the plant’s gigantic stem, as if she was taming an angry wolf.

"Why did you come here? Why did you terrorize these people and want to chase them away from the home they’ve struggled to build? Chasing them away from the heart of your Kingdom doesn’t satisfy you and your Queen at all, and in a reign that will soon be overthrown, my husband says it’s best to get rid of the bad eggs, so they don’t taint the good ones."

"WAIT! I WON’T COME–" ƒree𝑤ebnσvel-com

And the knight was instantly gobbled up with one huge bite from the chomper. The remaining bodies of the knights were feasted by the chomper whose insatiable hunger made it devour them with no mercy. Brian had froze yet again at the sight, unable to bear the vivid monstrosity, and once the chomper was done cleaning the elf community of the ’bad eggs’, it returned to the underground where it had been awoken from.

Normally, Samantha would cower at the sight of her own powers, but today, she was ready to embrace that darkness. She didn’t need further explanations anymore concerning how she was able to control plant monsters and giant vines. She was a dark fae, her powers could be considered dark magic, more reason why Marius had targeted her from the very beginning. Thinking back to the conversation she had with Madeline in the palace, it now made sense why Madeline didn’t possess her dark abilities, cause she was just a regular fae, one with a pure heart.

"Wow!"

The exclamatory voices behind her made her swirl around to see Ivan and Herbert staring with the same flabbergasted reaction on their faces. From their awestruck gazes, it was clear they had witnessed the actions of her powers, and what the chomper did out of bloodlust, but only Herbert appeared cautious, quite worried, but Ivan on the other hand...

"That. Was. Beautiful. I clearly need a monster plant of my own." As expected, Ivan looked amazed, and she could see he wasn’t faking to make her feel better. Herbert and Brian had shifted their attention to Ivan, as if questioning him silently on whether he was being serious or not, but he hardly spared them a glance.

Samantha ran up to him, and she was relieved to see he was fine.

"Are they gone?"

He nodded, "but I saved this bastard here," he moved aside, revealing the leader of the knights that was being subdued by the elf warriors. "Carmela isn’t dead it seems. That means I need to begin hunting before she comes up with a treacherous plan to build an even stronger army. In the meantime, I’m going to have to coax Duncan to do a little work for me."

"Lord Duncan?"

"Yes."

"Uhm.. hey, if you need assistance in finding Carmela, I used to serve her in the Palace before the mishaps." Brian said, "when I left her fortress, there was some paperwork concerning various meetings I took with me. I don’t even know why I decided to take them back then but if you want, I can give them to you. If there’s a chance it will be helpful in finding her quicker, I can’t assure you, but it’s worth looking at."

"Really?" Samantha’s heart eased upon knowing they had Brian’s support now. She had been worried concerning the trouble she had caused them, but hearing him offer his help made her feel more grateful to him and his people.

"Thank you, it would really be of help to us."

"You two just saved our home. It’s the least I can do." He returned Samantha’s smile with a polite bow.

Things were already falling into place! Samantha turned to look at Ivan, and she hugged him dearly.
