Chapter 326: All Eleven Heads

___ _

"This is... magnificent!" Carmela exclaimed with slight joy at the new sight presented before her. "She looks different now! Is she really void of emotional feelings?" She inquired from Marius, her eyes shifting from Samantha, to look at the Demon before her, but what she saw wasn’t a sight she herself had anticipated for in the slightest.

Marius, with a satisfied smile gracing his lips, closed his eyes as he felt his powers surge through his veins. As the sizzling transformation unfolded, massive horns emerged from his forehead, spiraling upward with an eerie elegance, whilst marking the completion of his metamorphosis into a full-fledged demon.

The air crackled with dark energy, and Carmela could sense the raw, untamed power that Marius now wielded, a sight that both fascinated and unnerved her.

Was this Marius’s true form? She blinked in awe.

When he opened his eyes, Carmela found herself staring into abyssal black orbs, black arcane marks weaved from the corner of his eyes, intensifying his powers. A chilling smile revealed sharp canines, marking the full manifestation of his demonic essence.

"At last." She heard Marius say with content as he gazed at his elongated nails, whilst he balled his hand into fist. He glanced at the window and could almost sight the blood moon approaching, and that alone has opted his powers. The blood moon was drawing closer, and in no less than a week, the world would be bathed in red, both in blood, and in the manifestation of the blood moon.

The imaginary picture of the disaster he was yet to cause made his vile heart grow with excitement, and nothing felt better than having his true form again. No longer will he be associated with those incompetent earthlings.

"Isn’t my timing just about perfect, Carmela?" He turned away from the woman, and she could feel a chilly air sweep past all of them, including the little boy who was still in her grip.

The very essence of her fortress began to respond to Marius’s demonic energy, and the building suddenly quivered with a rumbling sound, startling her to her wits. Dust particles descended from the ceiling, but the building clearly wasn’t at the verge of collapsing– that much she knew. Rendered speechless by what she guessed was about to happen, Carmela struggled to comprehend the surreal transformation unfolding before her eyes.

The structure of her fortress began to twist and contort into a more sinister form, whilst causing Carmela to lose her footing in the abrupt change. Walls shifted, the ground beneath them cracked and turned– it felt as if her fortress was reshaping itself to Marius’s liking, and that made the air thicken with an unshakable malevolence.

Sensing her distraction, Alain used the opportunity he had to free his arm from Carmela’s grip, and he dashed off, not for once considering the unsettling changes happening before his eyes. freeweɓnovel-cøm

"Wait! Stop!" Carmela wanted to go after him, but she lost her footing due to the imbalance of the ground. Somehow, the little boy had managed to get a grip on his stamina and was soon out of her line of sight.

"Not again!"

"Stay in one place, or you’ll get crushed." Came Marius’s warning when he sensed she was about to go after Alain. Carmela didn’t understand what he meant by that particular warning, not until she saw a couple of guards running towards her direction, screaming about the building on the verge of collapsing. Unknown to them, a piece of the ceiling was dropping at immeasurable speed, immediately crushing them before they could get to Carmela.

The unexpected sight had left Carmela frozen, and she obediently stayed put.

When the metamorphosis concluded, Carmela slowly lifted her head to see that she was before a completely different hall. Her once-familiar fortress had become a dark, foreboding stronghold. Sinister sconces illuminated the newly fashioned hall, casting shadows that seemed to whisper her fortress’s altered essence.

Rising to her feet, Carmela stood in the transformed space, silenced by the profound change that had transpired. Her eyes moved to the window where Marius stood with his back facing her, and the orb girl was standing next to him, whilst he directed at something outside for her to see.

"Shall we test how far your powers can reach?" He swept her hair to the right curve of her neck and whispered cunningly into her ear. "Over there, do you see those people?"

Samantha’s eyes lowered to the group of men in robes who were stepping into the fortress, oblivious to the changes that had taken place. When Carmela moved forward to see what Marius was focusing her attention to, a smile dawned her lips upon realizing his intention.

"Go, and bring me all eleven heads." He ordered. Samantha’s expression remained neutral as she turned to leave the hall, but Carmela still had her doubts. The door closed shut behind her, and she really wondered if the orb girl was up for the challenge.

"All eleven?" She stole a peek at the new Marius, and he flashed her a sadistic smile, one that didn’t sit well with her nerves.

"Aren’t you forgetting something?" He tilted his head to the side, "the little boy, you have to find him and carry out the rituals. Do you have no wish to upgrade your strength and become bound to immortality? Growing tired already?"

"Of course not! You want me to trust you but you build such low esteem in me." Carmela tried to soothe her trembling nerves, whilst she cleared her throat. "But anyway, things are going according to how we planned. If your powers have opted, it means I have no need to delay the ritual. He has gotten on my nerves far too many times, and it’s about time we end his little journey."

"Then you better hurry." Marius added with a tinge of warning.

Meanwhile, Alain wisely stayed hidden behind a corner, whilst the building morphed into a different fortress. He crouched and covered his face with both his palm, hoping the movements will finally stop. When it did, he slowly withdrew his hands from his face and looked around the large hallway.

It was empty, with no signs of guards, servants, or anyone approaching.

"Alain?"

Little Alain’s ears instantly perked up at the voice of his Mother.
