Chapter 45: Not My Brother, My Husband!
She picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID, only to find Elizabeth. Her mood dropped even more before answering the call.
"Aiyi baby!" Elizabeth shouted over the phone, making Zaiyila wonder if she was alright.
"You called?" Zaiyila responded trying to sound normal but her voice betraying her real effort.
Elizabeth was silent for a moment. "Aiyi baby, what’s the matter? Who bullied you?" she inquired, as if ready to fly over and avenge her.
Zaiyila sighed. "Nothing, I just woke up," she replied.
"Ah, I’m very sorry! I woke the little princess from sweet Dreamland. That’s very bad of me."
Zaiyila frowned. She wasn’t used to being called a princess and wanted to correct Elizabeth and ask her to address her as "Queen," but she soon decided against it.
"It’s Sunday. Why did you call so early?" she questioned.
"Let’s hang out, baby!"
"Not interested."
"That’s not cool! You threw a grand party and didn’t even let me know. Now I’m asking you to make it up to me, but you’re rejecting me!" Elizabeth exclaimed.
Zaiyila sighed again. "Even I wasn’t aware of the party. It was a surprise from my husband," she responded.
There was a long pause. "Seems like you’re not really awake yet. It was your brother who threw the party, and you’re not married yet, baby. Alright, let’s put that aside. I’ve forgiven you since you weren’t aware either—but we are going out today. Period!"
Zaiyila sighed once more. "I heard you, then."
"Yay!" Elizabeth cheered in excitement. "I’ll come to your house shortly to pick you up. Make sure you’re well dressed. I love you!" she exclaimed before ending the call immediately.
Zaiyila placed the phone on the bed and looked at Everett, who was standing at the entrance with his arms folded—who knows how long he’d been there.
"Um... Eve, um... Lizzy..."
"Do you want to go?"
Zaiyila nodded.
"Then my Queen can do as she wishes," he murmured as he walked toward her and kissed her forehead.
Zaiyila smiled happily and spread her arms open. "Carry me," she requested sweetly.
Everett couldn’t resist her charm and obliged, carrying her to the bathroom before stepping out again to select her outfit for the day.
Once Zaiyila finished bathing, she dressed up, and Everett helped her style her hair into two ponytails, making her look childlike yet beautiful.
"Am I pretty?" she asked, spinning around.
Everett chuckled before kissing her lips. "My Queen is the most beautiful woman on earth," he praised.
Zaiyila blushed. "Then... should I wear my mask?" she asked.
"No need to. You’re my wife, and that won’t change. If you don’t feel like wearing the mask to school either, I won’t force you," Everett responded.
Zaiyila’s eyes widened, and she couldn’t stop herself from kissing him.
Everett didn’t resist and kissed her back. The kiss lasted a few minutes until Zaiyila’s phone began vibrating again, bringing the moment to a pause.
"Seems like she’s here already. I’ll leave now," Zaiyila announced, her face flushed, and she quickly rushed out of the room without waiting for Everett’s response.
Outside, Zaiyila found Elizabeth looking at her with a bright smile.
"Come in, beauty!" she called.
Zaiyila smiled and entered the car. Elizabeth drove off.
Everett stepped outside at that moment and stared at the car as it disappeared into the distance.
"Your Majesty!" a young man appeared and immediately dropped to one knee, bowing respectfully.
Everett frowned and eyed the man. "What’s with the scent on you?" he questioned.
"Y-Your Majesty, Eryx is around," the man reported.
Everett’s eyes glowed dangerously, but he didn’t move.
"He... he already dealt with the human and sent us her arm," the man continued.
Everett remained expressionless, but his cold and frightening aura deepened. Without waiting for anything else, he vanished instantly.

A luxurious car was elegantly parked outside a restaurant, and Elizabeth quickly stepped out and opened the door for Zaiyila.
"Please, Your Highness," she said, extending her hand to Zaiyila.
Zaiyila chuckled. "Why are you acting this way, huh?" she asked, taking Elizabeth’s hand and stepping out.
"Without your mask, dear, you’re so pretty. Ah, no wonder I felt something was missing when I looked at your picture. Your brother gifted you a crown, but you’re not wearing it now. That’s not cool, okay?" she pouted.
"Come on, it’s not like I’m going to a party or something," Zaiyila chuckled.
"Mhn, anyway, even without it, you still look stunning. You’re so beautiful!" Elizabeth giggled and kissed Zaiyila on the cheek.
"Ah, don’t do that in public," Zaiyila panicked, her face flushed as she glanced around to see if anyone had noticed.
"Yo! Yo! Yo! My Queen is shy now! So innocent!"
Zaiyila shook her head. "That’s not it. What if someone sees us and reports to Eve? He’ll think I’m cheating on him, and that’s not good," she thought, looking at Elizabeth, who was giving her a teasing smile. "Don’t do that again. It’s not cool," she added.
"Ah, we won’t do it in public, okay?" Elizabeth assured her, holding her hand as they both entered the restaurant.
Elizabeth ordered everything she wanted before handing the menu to Zaiyila. At first, she declined, but with Elizabeth’s insistence, she ordered a few snacks, even though she wasn’t sure she could eat them. ƒгeeweɓn૦vel.com
"Aiyi baby, tell me, how’s your brother’s wife?" Elizabeth asked.
Zaiyila looked at her and sighed. "Listen, Lizzy, you’re my first friend, and I don’t want to lie or keep things from you but... Eve is actually not my brother. He’s my husband—we’re married," she whispered.
Elizabeth’s expression froze. "Like... you’re kidding me, right?" she asked, eyeing Zaiyila carefully.
Zaiyila shook her head. "I’m serious," she confirmed.
Elizabeth was silent for a long time before speaking again. "No wonder you’re so spoiled by him. Honestly, the possibility did cross my mind once, but I brushed it off since you’re... you look too young to be married," she remarked.
Zaiyila nodded. "Looking young—is that bad?" she asked. "I really want everyone to believe that Eve is my husband, but then there’s the school rules," she sighed.
