Bride of Retribution: Aloof Billionaire's Dominant Game-Chapter 430 - 236 Charlotte Miller, you are in trouble
A long buzzing sound came from the phone, each buzz accelerating Charlotte Miller’s heartbeat.
When Luna Miller’s phone went unanswered, Charlotte felt as if she had been pushed to the edge of a cliff; just one step forward would lead to a shattering fall.
Her heartbeat reached its limit, and even her breath hitched. Luna’s call went unanswered.
She immediately reacted and called Oliver Baird.
"Oliver, is Mia still with you?" Charlotte’s voice trembled so much that she seemed to be shivering from cold, her teeth almost biting her tongue.
"Luna took her away this morning." As soon as Oliver said this, Charlotte’s mind went blank.
Took her away?
But Luna’s phone couldn’t be reached, and she hadn’t returned home.
Where did she go?
"What’s going on?" Oliver could tell from Charlotte’s unsteady breathing on the phone that something was clearly wrong.
"She didn’t bring Mia back, and she’s not answering the phone." Her face was deathly pale, with beads of sweat sliding down her forehead.
"What are you afraid of? Do you think Atlas Hallow is an idiot? If he could reach such a position today, can’t he find out you have his child?" Oliver’s calm voice on the other end reminded Charlotte.
Despite his words, Oliver immediately started an investigation, as the situation seemed tricky. Hopefully, it was Atlas Hallow who took them.
Sometimes Luna also took Mia to the park for some sun, but definitely not in this weather; she must have been taken away.
But this had never happened before, and it occurred as soon as Atlas Hallow arrived in the United States.
Charlotte was on the verge of insanity; if Atlas Hallow dared to take Mia, she would fight him to the death.
"Atlas Hallow, did you take Luna?" She tried several calls in succession, so much so that even her phone started to heat up, her voice filled with apprehension.
In this world, nothing is certain to happen; she now even hoped Atlas Hallow took them because at least Mia would be absolutely safe.
But her intuition told her it was impossible for Atlas to know about the child’s existence. For years, he had been unable to find her, and back then, her situation was convincing enough for people to believe she really had a miscarriage, so she didn’t dare to ask Atlas outright if he took Mia.
"Take her away? If I could take anyone away, it would be you..." The man’s magnetic voice carried through the airwaves, full of endless temptation, but Charlotte was too occupied to care about any of this.
It wasn’t Atlas who did it; upon hearing his answer, she was sure it wasn’t him.
Who could it be then?
Her entire heart felt like it was being eaten away by countless ants, each bite leaving her trembling in pain...
Standing by the window, her flying hair reflected her desolate face. Tears began to fall uncontrollably, and she didn’t even dare call the police, fearing one slight misstep could harm Mia and Luna.
They are the most important people in her life.
She forced herself to calm down, compelled herself to seriously consider who might have done this.
Could it be a kidnapping?
If it was a kidnapping, why hadn’t anyone called to demand a ransom after such a long time?
She left the office not knowing where to begin searching for Mia. When she reached the parking lot, her phone rang; she saw Oliver’s name and answered urgently, "It wasn’t Atlas. I’m sure it wasn’t him."
"Charlotte, you’re in trouble..." Oliver frowned; he had never worried about anything. But now, Mia had fallen into someone else’s hands.
Mia was merely a little girl, delicate and fragile like a doll, and having fallen into those kinds of people’s hands was indeed a huge problem.
"What on earth is happening, where is Mia?" Charlotte finally couldn’t hold back and broke into sobs, never feeling so blind and helpless until now. If she could trade her life for Mia’s safety, she wouldn’t hesitate; all she wanted was her girl to be safe and sound.
"Rogers’ cousin is back; I suspect his cousin did this." Oliver investigated and found that a car appeared near his house this morning, and through the license plate traced it to Rogers’ cousin.
"King?" Charlotte had heard the name, but never seen him.
King was a taboo name in Rogers’ family; even though she had attended family banquets in the castle several times, she had never seen him, as if he didn’t exist. Yet, he took her daughter—what did he intend to do?
