Bought For A Baby, Kept For A Lifetime-Chapter 132: Andrew Is Getting Married
He didn’t want to believe it, Andrew had already succeeded in that assignment faster than him?
Gabriel erupted into laughter.
"You think Andrew got a girl pregnant?" Gabriel continued to laugh, not taking the whole thing seriously.
That one? The guy who couldn’t interact with women and treated them like air?
Gabriel always wondered if there was something wrong with his brother down there, well, until a certain night he’d called to have some girls sent to him. Gabriel had almost changed his thoughts about it until the girls returned not too long after, untouched, every hair still in place.
Yeah, he wasn’t believing that Andrew actually got a girl pregnant. It must be the old man.
So what, they would be having a little new addition to the family but this child would be an uncle or aunt to them?
"What makes it so unbelievable brother?"
Andrew’s sharp voice suddenly interrupted Gabriel’s thoughts, he looked up to see his brother confidently striding in. But what made Gabriel stiffen was the young woman next to him.
She looked adorably mesmerizing as she walked next to his brother.
Something felt unbearably uncomfortable for Gabriel seeing them together, especially when Andrew suddenly took her hand holding it in his.
What the hell was his brother doing here at the estate with his former assistant?
Anne Thompson was the girl he set his sights on, and he was bidding his time till he could think of a way to win her over.
They said distance breeds fondness, he had let her know of his intentions and then kept some distance from her, she must have continuously thought about what he said to her.
A man who’d had his share of seeing the world and was finally ready to settle down with her, she must have felt flattered.
But why the hell was this brother of his carrying her around?
The last time was at the party, he’d just walked in and taken her away from under everyone’s gaze.
Could Andrew actually be interested in her?
All their lives, Gabriel had always competed with this brother of his, don’t tell him they’d have to compete for a girl now?
Yes, Gabriel would admit. Andrew had always won growing up, he buried himself in the work and everything he needed to do too much that he never failed, but when it came to women.
Gabriel smirked confidently.
If it was a competition, Gabriel was more than certain he would win this round.
Finally, a competition with Andrew he could definitely win.
At this moment, elder Sterling walked down the stairs with a big smile on his face. The man looked like someone who’d gotten to achieve one of his biggest goals.
"Anne." His voice boomed as he called her name with such enthusiasm.
"Hello, Elder Sterling." Anne greeted politely.
"I believe you have every reason to address me as grandfather now right? After all you’re going to be my daughter in law."
Anne gazed up silently at the man beside her, the warmth in her hand tightened subtly.
He was holding her hand, he was actually holding her hand.
For some reason she couldn’t believe he would willingly do such a warm gesture, but then again he was probably doing it to put up appearances to his family.
Just like she wouldn’t want Kristen to know that she was in a fake marriage and all because of what happened to him, he would blame himself, that was why she had put up that clause.
And another clause she’d added to the contract.
She didn’t think she could birth her child and completely walk out of it’s life, it might be Andrew Sterling’s blood but it was equally hers as well.
She wanted to be a mother to her child because she knew she would be absolutely broken if she left.
She knew after she gave birth, they would get divorced, and even if she couldn’t remain in Andrew’s life, she wanted to remain in the child’s life, even if she’d only get to see her child once a week she would willingly accept that.
Her thoughts were cut off by a sudden surprised voice that sounded,
"Daughter in law?"
She realized it was Gabriel Sterling who’d spoken.
He seemed to have suddenly lost all his carefree playful demeanor as he said that, looking alert.
"Well, since everyone is here already we might as well make the announcement. It was supposed to happen at dinner but there’s no need to keep holding up unnecessary suspense."
Elder Sterling glanced at two of his other grandsons joyously as if he couldn’t wait to finally share the news.
Donald’s expression held an equal amount of dreadful shock as Gabriel’s as if they were beginning to guess what the older man would say.
"Your brother Andrew is getting married..."
The news dropped on the two brothers like a bomb descending from above.
"...to Anne. But that is not all..." 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
The news hadn’t fully been digested by the brothers yet when the old man added.
"Our Sterling family will soon be welcoming a new member. My great-grandchild and the Sterling’s next generation heir." Elder Sterling announced proudly, the brilliant smile on his face couldn’t be wiped off.
So that meant...she is pregnant? Anne is actually pregnant and the father of the child is unmistakably... Andrew!
"What? How in hell is that even possible?" Gabriel suddenly blurted still unwilling to believe it.
From what he remembered, his brother Andrew didn’t even like this girl. The only time Gabriel thought he probably didn’t really dislike her was at the anniversary party, and that had just been a few weeks ago, how could he have gotten her pregnant then?
"It is possible Gabriel since like always, Andrew Is the only one who bothered to complete my assignment. Annelise is pregnant, and they will be getting married."
Gabriel couldn’t even find words to say, he was silenced.
Andrew’s chin was raised proudly and he possessively gripped Anne’s hand in his own as if to indicate to them that she was as his.
Damnit! He was losing to his younger brother again!
Anne was a girl Gabriel had set his sights on, but she was snatched by Andrew once again?
It was unacceptable, Gabriel had never taken many things in his life seriously, even in the past when he used to lose to his younger brother, but this time it felt like a harsh blow to his face which caused a hard lump to lodge itself in his throat.
Not this time, he wouldn’t let himself lose to Andrew this time.
"Congratulations then brother...If you can successfully marry her." Gabriel remarked with a rare rigidness on his face, his voice dripping with spite before he turned on his heels and walked away without waiting to see whatever celebration was going to happen next.
