Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 251: Micah’s Ending
Chapter 251: Chapter 251: Micah’s Ending
Aurora’s eyes narrowed as she observed him, but Micah didn’t notice. He was too lost in his own story.
"I thought... if I just worked hard, if I just kept going to auditions, maybe one day I’d be able to pay off all the debt and give him something back," Micah said, his voice becoming a little more bitter.
"But that’s when I learned the truth. No matter how hard I worked, I couldn’t catch up. I paid off a third of my debt, but the interest kept piling up. The deeper I went, the harder it was to escape."
He stopped for a moment, his eyes flashing with frustration.
"So, I did what I had to do. I started building connections. I made deals with people. But it wasn’t enough. I realized if I wanted to get anywhere, I had to give up something else. And that’s when it all went wrong.
I started... making deals with women. Sleeping with them, using my body to climb up. I told myself it was for survival, but over time, it became who I was. I lost track of who I was and what I stood for. I couldn’t even remember the reason I started acting in the first place."
Micah finally stopped, his voice hoarse from the emotions he had let out. There was a long silence in the room. Aurora didn’t say anything at first. She just stared at him, her gaze cold.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she spoke, her voice laced with disdain.
"You really let your grandfather down," she said softly, but the sharpness in her words hit Micah like a slap.
"He sacrificed everything for you, and this is how you repay him? By throwing away your dignity? Your self-respect?"
Micah winced, the words stinging more than he’d expected. He clenched his fists at his sides, trying to keep his emotions in check.
A bitter expression twisted his face as he spoke again.
"If you were in my place, maybe you would’ve made the same choice," he said, his voice low and bitter.
"Maybe you would’ve done what you had to do to survive. It’s easy to judge from the outside, but when you’re stuck in a hole with no way out... sometimes, you just do what you can."
The air in the room grew cold. Aurora’s eyes glinted with an icy sharpness, her expression unchanging.
"You think I don’t know what it’s like to survive?" she asked, her voice calm but cutting. "You think I don’t know what it’s like to feel trapped, to have to make choices you regret later?"
Micah swallowed, his throat dry. He hadn’t expected her to push back. He had thought maybe she would sympathize with him. But now, he wasn’t sure what to think.
Aurora’s eyes narrowed as she leaned forward slightly.
"The difference between you and me, Micah, is that I don’t throw away my dignity just to survive. You could have chosen a different path. But you chose to go down this one."
The words hit him like a punch. For a moment, he was speechless. The bitterness that had been growing inside him felt like a heavy weight in his chest.
"I know you’ve been through a lot," Aurora continued, her voice softening just a little,
"But your grandfather deserves more than what you’ve given him. You’ve let him down, Micah. And now you want me to help you? After all of that?"
Micah’s face twisted in pain, and he didn’t have an answer. He had no excuse. No justification for the things he’d done. He was just... tired. Tired of fighting, tired of surviving, tired of being stuck.
Aurora leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms.
"I’ll be honest with you, Micah. I don’t trust you. And I’m not going to take you in as my pet, no matter how much you beg. You need to prove that you can change. You need to prove that you’re worth more than what you’ve done."
There was a long pause before she spoke again.
"You can start by proving it to yourself."
Micah’s frown deepened, and he lowered his head. His hands tightened into fists at his sides.
"But... how am I supposed to prove anything?" he muttered, almost like he was talking to himself.
"I don’t even have any auditions. No roles. No chances. I’m... I’m basically over." His voice cracked a little, and though he tried to hide it, it was clear that he was numb inside, like he had already given up on himself.
Even his eyes... they looked empty. Like he wasn’t really expecting anything good to happen to him ever again.
Aurora watched him quietly, her sharp gaze noticing every small detail. The way he slouched. The way his shoulders shook just a little. The way he wouldn’t meet her eyes.
Suddenly, a terrible thought crossed her mind.
He’s close... really close to breaking.
Aurora bit her lower lip slightly, her heart turning heavy.
She remembered something from her dreams... or maybe, from her knowledge of the future. Micah had committed suicide.
His body had been found in a tiny apartment, unpaid bills piled on the table, and cold leftovers still sitting in the kitchen. No one had helped him. No one had cared.
Was this the point where his life had taken that dark turn?
Is this... the day before everything goes wrong for him?
Aurora closed her eyes for a moment, then opened them with a new decision burning inside.
"I’ll give you a chance," she said suddenly, her voice clear and strong.
Micah froze.
Slowly, he lifted his head, staring at her like she had just spoken in another language.
"What...?" he whispered.
Aurora leaned forward, her eyes sharp but steady.
"I’m not giving you charity, Micah," she said.
"You’ll have to work for it. But if you’re serious... if you truly want to change... then from now on, you’ll play secondary lead roles in my dramas. I’ll arrange the auditions, but you’ll have to prove yourself on set. No favors. No shortcuts."
