Chapter 249: Chapter 249: Micah

Aurora turned her head slowly, her eyes narrowing behind the veil.

A guy stood in the doorway, looking like he had just walked off a fashion magazine cover. He had bright blonde hair, deep green eyes, and was wearing flashy clothes that screamed ’attention!’ He looked like a model, his posture perfect and his smile charming.

He stepped into the room confidently, as if he owned the place, and smiled toward the area where Aurora was sitting.

"Miss Dawn, even though I can’t see your face," he said smoothly, "I can tell that you’re very beautiful."

Aurora’s eyes flashed with interest. She studied him carefully, trying to figure out who this person was. He seemed too... polished, too perfect to just be anyone.

Jonnah, sitting across from Aurora, stood up suddenly. His face went stiff as he saw the new guy.

"Micah, what are you doing here?" Jonnah asked, his voice cool and stiff.

Micah, the newcomer, flinched at Jonnah’s cold tone. He placed a hand on his chest, looking almost hurt.

"Jonnah, why are you being so hard on me?" he asked, his voice sounding a little dramatic. Then, he turned toward Aurora with a bright smile. "Miss Dawn, I am Jonnah’s younger brother, Micah. I’ve heard a lot about you, and I wanted to meet you personally."

Aurora raised an eyebrow, not buying the charm for a second. She was still eyeing him carefully, trying to figure out why he was here and what he really wanted.

Jonnah sighed deeply and gave a small bow of his head. "Micah, what are you doing here? This is not the time or place for you to be making a scene."

Micah’s expression faltered for a moment, but then he regained his composure, putting on a more convincing smile. He turned toward Aurora again, his voice smooth and eager.

"Well, Miss Dawn," he said, "I’m an aspiring actor, just like my big brother. I need support in this industry, and I was hoping that someone like you could help me out. If you could take me under your wing, I’ll do anything you ask of me."

Aurora’s eyes narrowed behind the veil. She didn’t like where this conversation was going. She leaned back in her chair, crossing her arms and giving him a sharp look.

"And what does that have to do with me?" she asked coolly, her tone leaving no room for misunderstanding.

Micah smiled, a little too smoothly, and said, "Well, since you’re Jonnah’s boss, and he’s already working with you... as long as you help me out, I’ll keep an eye on him for you. Make sure he stays in line."

Aurora’s frown deepened. "I hate when people try to threaten or offer me useless things," she said, her voice cold.

Micah’s face paled slightly. He hadn’t expected her to react like that. But he didn’t give up. He stepped forward a little, still wearing that persistent smile.

"Please, Miss Dawn," he said, his voice now more pleading. "I really need your help. I’ll do whatever you want. I’ll even get close to Jonnah for you, make sure he stays loyal. Anything."

Before he could get any closer, Emily, who had been standing quietly behind Aurora, suddenly stepped forward. She blocked Micah’s path, putting a firm hand on his chest.

"You shouldn’t take one more step," Emily said, her voice stern. "If you do, I’ll make sure there’s no place for you in the entertainment industry."

Micah froze, his eyes widening in surprise at Emily’s sudden aggression. He raised his hands in the air, stepping back slightly.

"Woah, woah! There’s no need to be so aggressive, okay? I was just asking for some help!"

Aurora watched the interaction with a slight smirk, her gaze still hidden behind her veil. She had to admit, she was enjoying the drama unfolding in front of her.

Emily didn’t move an inch, keeping her hand firmly on Micah’s chest. "You’ve been warned. Stay away from Miss Dawn."

Micah, now clearly intimidated, nodded quickly and stepped back, raising his hands higher in surrender.

"Alright, alright! I get it! No need to be so harsh."

Jonnah sighed and looked at Micah, his tone cool but firm. "Micah, just leave. This isn’t the time." freewebnσvel.cøm

Micah wasn’t ready to back down, though. He pouted, crossing his arms and giving a playful, almost defiant look to Jonnah. "Come on, bro. Don’t be like that."

Jonnah gave Micah a helpless look, his eyes pleading for him to understand. "Micah, you know Ms. Dawn isn’t that type of person. She doesn’t care about... this."

Micah chuckled, his lips curling into a smirk. "You’re thinking too much, Jonnah. It’s just business."

Aurora’s eyes, which had been half-closed in amusement, snapped open at the cryptic exchange. She leaned forward, her voice sharp.

"What’s going on here?" she asked, her tone leaving no room for hesitation.

Both Jonnah and Micah went silent, exchanging a look. Micah, seeing Jonnah’s hesitation, looked at him with a pleading expression, as if trying to convince him to say something.

Jonnah hesitated, then lowered his gaze. Micah’s gaze became more intense, but he remained quiet.

Aurora wasn’t having it anymore. Her eyes glowed gold for a second, a fierce light flashing in them. Her voice dropped to a more commanding tone.

"Jonnah, you’re now my artist. You’ll listen to me, not anyone else. If I ask you a question, you answer. Understand?"

Jonnah immediately stiffened, his shoulders slumping under the weight of her words. He lowered his head, his voice small as he spoke the truth.

"Micah isn’t my biological brother," he confessed. "In fact, he’s older than me."

There was a long, awkward silence. Micah’s eyes shot daggers at Jonnah, anger creeping into his expression.

"So, you’re throwing me under the bus now?" he spat. "Do you remember how much I’ve helped you? How I’ve been there for you, huh?"

Jonnah didn’t respond. His face remained neutral, but his hands clenched into fists at his sides. Aurora chuckled softly, a small smile curling on her lips.
