Chapter 233: Chapter 233: Threat

Darren froze, his eyes wide. His blood turned ice-cold.

Mason looked at him, raising a brow. "Bro, what’s going on? You look like you saw your ex with your dad."

Darren’s throat was dry. "Mason," he said stiffly, glancing at the phone. "Would you... want a kiss?"

Mason blinked. "Excuse me?"

The voice cackled softly through the speaker. "Ask nicely. Don’t make me repeat myself."

Darren clenched his jaw. "Do you want a kiss or not?"

Mason stared, stunned. "Are you drunk?"

"No," Darren said quickly. "Just answer."

"Hell no!" Mason snapped, scooting away from him on the couch. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

Aurora’s voice returned, now deeper and more dangerous.

"Well then, Darren... force him. Use your family name, your so-called influence. Isn’t that what you always do? Isn’t that what you did to all the girls?"

Darren stood up so fast his drink spilled. "No! I’m not doing this! That’s insane!"

The voice didn’t argue. It just chuckled, softly, as if it had been expecting this answer all along.

"Fine," it whispered. "Then let’s play a different game."

The phone went dead silent.

Darren stared at the screen.

Then—

Ding!

His phone lit up.

WhatsApp opening...

"No. No. No—" Darren muttered, trying to press the home button.

But the phone wasn’t responding to him anymore.

Family Group Chat: KINGSLEY FAMILY

He watched, helpless, as the screen loaded pictures—dozens of them. Screenshots of old drug transactions, videos from that night at the party with Adriana, blurry but damning.

One of him sniffing coke in a bathroom. A few messages where he bragged about "breaking girls" like toys.

They were all tagged. Already uploaded, and just one tap away from sending.

The message was typed automatically:

"Hi Mom, Hi Dad, just thought you should know the truth about your son. Enjoy the show."

His heart thudded so loudly it echoed in his ears.

"DON’T!" he screamed.

People in the club looked over. Even Caleb flinched.

"I’ll do it!" Darren gasped, almost dropping the phone. "I’ll do it. I swear. Just... don’t send that."

Silence.

Then a low, satisfied chuckle.

"Good boy," the voice purred. "Now go ahead. I’m watching."

Darren looked at Mason and Caleb. They were staring at him like he had lost his mind.

"What the hell is happening?" Caleb asked, half-laughing.

Darren’s hands were still shaking. He clenched his fists, his throat dry.

"Just... play along," he mumbled.

Mason scoffed. "You’re really going through with this?"

Darren took a deep breath.

Every part of his body rebelled. His pride screamed. His ego clawed at his skin. But fear had taken over—pure, animal fear. He couldn’t risk it. Not the family name. Not his image. Not his freedom.

He looked Mason in the eye, feeling more humiliated than he ever had in his life.

"I’m serious," he said quietly. "Let me just... kiss you. Okay? One second. That’s it."

Caleb was already laughing. "Is this a dare or something? You two doing a weird couple prank?"

Mason pulled back, disgusted. "Bro, no. What’s wrong with you?!"

"I have to," Darren hissed. "I have no choice!"

Then, through the speaker, Aurora’s voice came back, low and amused:

"Fifteen seconds, Darren. Or I press send."

Darren turned pale.

"Ten..."

He lunged forward suddenly.

Mason yelled, "What the hell—!"

Their lips touched for less than a second, but the damage was done.

Mason shoved Darren away, hard. "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!"

Caleb was wheezing with laughter. "Dude. What the actual hell?! That was so gross!"

Darren was gasping, chest heaving. "It’s done. It’s done."

"What a good boy you are." Aurora praised him.

Darren stared at his phone like it had grown fangs. His hands were still trembling, sweat beading on his forehead. He had never felt so exposed, so utterly powerless in his life.

His lips were still tingling from the kiss, and Mason was now standing, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand, glaring at him like he wanted to punch him through a wall.

"What the hell was that, Darren?!" Mason barked. "You think this is funny?!"

"I told you," Darren muttered, his voice shaky, "I didn’t have a choice..."

Caleb, who had been laughing just moments ago, finally stopped. His eyes narrowed slightly.

"What do you mean ’no choice’? Who are you talking to?"

Before Darren could answer, the voice returned—calm, amused, and sharper than ever.

"One more, Darren," Aurora said through the phone, her voice masked by the cold digital filter. "Now Caleb."

Caleb’s smile vanished.

"What?" he snapped, his expression turning serious. "What did he say?"

Darren swallowed hard, his mouth dry. "I... I have to kiss you next."

Caleb stepped back immediately. "You’re out of your mind! No. Hell no!"

"Please," Darren said, voice cracking. "Just one second. I swear, I’ll explain everything later—just let me—"

"Back off!" Caleb warned, raising his hands. "You’re seriously freaking me out, man."

"Tick-tock," Aurora sang. "Do it, or the Kingsley family group gets everything."

Darren flinched. He glanced at the phone. The message was still sitting there, unsent—but threatening. All it would take was one tap.

"I’ll lose everything," he whispered, mostly to himself. "If this gets out... my dad will kill me..."

He turned toward Caleb slowly, ashamed and terrified. "Please. Just... help me. Just for one second."

"No...." Aurora’s voice sounded this time. "Not one second. A French kiss. Full-fledged. Go on."

Darren gritted his teeth. He felt disgusted with himself and wanted to throw his phone away, but he knew that once he did so, the hacker might truly post everything online.

With gritted teeth, he said to Caleb,

"If you don’t let me kiss, I will make your father’s company bankrupt. You should know what the Kingsley family is capable of."

Caleb’s heart turned cold.

After all, he had given the same threat to all the girls whenever they tried to resist.

Though he used to throw the same threat lightly, Caleb knew how true it was. Closing his eyes, he gave a silent consent, and Darren crashed his lips to Caleb’s.
