Chapter 90: Urgent 4 (Alliance Hierarch Xie Chuliuyun)
“Wait a second.” Song Ran suddenly felt something was off. “Professor Zhong, didn’t we just call each other? It wasn’t about any degree, it was about the Blind Spot method, right?”
“The Blind Spot method?” Professor Zhong Hui frowned at first, then, as if he suddenly remembered something.
With a rustle, he stood up, dropping his newspaper and phone onto the floor, his gaze becoming panic-stricken as he stared fixedly at Song Ran.
“Did you just say… the Blind Spot method!? You came for the Blind Spot method!!?”
“Isn’t that so? We just had a phone call a little over an hour ago, Professor Zhong!? You even promised to give me the method in exchange for payment!” Song Ran was equally astounded.
“I just spoke on the phone with two students, there was definitely no talk of exchanging money for the method!” Professor Zhong Hui’s expression was stern.
“You guys….” Suddenly, his voice halted, as if he had thought of something terrifying.
“No! You need to leave now!!” His voice suddenly turned sharp and urgent, “Quick, quick, quick! Otherwise, it’ll be too late!!”
“But the Blind Spot method….” Li Chengyi couldn’t help but interject as he stood up.
“I don’t know anything about a Blind Spot method! Everything is within….”
Boom!!!
In an instant, the living room window on the second floor shattered.
A black silhouette, like a charging rhinoceros, smashed through it, bringing shards of glass with it as it charged viciously towards Song Ran, who was in the midst of speaking.
This sudden change came too quickly.
Song Ran only managed to turn his head, his body tensing as his hand reached for the gun at his lower back.
But it was still too late; the silhouette had already slammed into him, hitting him hard on the side.
Bang!!!
They both flew out, crashing through the bedroom’s wooden door, rolling heavily inside.
Wood chips flew in all directions, but Professor Zhong Hui was not frightened by the sudden event; instead, he fiercely pushed Li Chengyi away.
“Go! Don’t stay behind! This is a trap!!”
A trap?!
By this time, Li Chengyi had tensed up, his hand holding a gun, but he didn’t leave, still staring intently at Professor Zhong Hui.
“Professor Zhong, I came for the Blind Spot method from the Blind Spot Shop!”
“I don’t know anything! All the Blind Spot methods, I don’t know them! Those things are all within….”
Bang!
A gunshot suddenly burst forth.
Li Chengyi’s scalp tingled instinctively, and his heightened senses from wearing the Floral Dress reacted sharply in that moment. He dodged to the side.
Thud.
In front of him, on the side wall beside Professor Zhong Hui, a black metal needle suddenly appeared.
The needle head penetrated deeply into the wall, with its tail still trembling.
Without a word, Li Chengyi immediately ducked for cover.
But at that moment, another silhouette charged in through the broken window.
The figure kicked off the wall mid-air, using the momentum to veer towards Li Chengyi, who was directly in its path.
Bang!
In desperation, Li Chengyi raised his hand and fired a shot.
The large-caliber bullet missed, creating a hole in the ceiling beside the figure.
After firing, he rolled over quickly, not waiting to see the result, barely avoiding the figure’s attack.
Bang!
Li Chengyi used his hands to propel himself forward, charging through another bedroom door and bursting into the room.
“Chase him!”
The second figure that had charged in stood up, revealing its full appearance — it was a Reinforced Human, showing a lot of metallic damage to its body.
He was dressed in a dark suit, with a blank expression, a square face, and the standard appearance of a grown man. His right eye was flashing a red light incessantly, and his right arm’s fingers had morphed into sharp metallic needle points.
Without hesitation, he immediately pursued the direction Li Chengyi had run into.
But there was no one inside.
Against a fully enhanced Reinforced Human, an ordinary person wouldn’t stand a chance, so naturally, the strategy would be to flee.
“The two of them have split up, chase them separately!” A voice came through the communication in the Reinforced Human’s ear.
“We don’t have much time left. We have temporarily jammed the Silent Fortress signal, only five minutes, move fast! The law enforcement is about to arrive!”
The man in the dark suit glanced at the open window and quickly rushed over, looking down just in time to see Li Chengyi reaching the first floor.
Raising his arm, he aimed the needles in his hand at Li Chengyi, ready to shoot.
Suddenly, Li Chengyi ducked low, retreating into the ground floor corridor, out of the line of fire.
“Damn it!” the man cursed, flipping out of the window in a single leap.
But as soon as he landed, he felt something was off. He looked up towards the distance.
A red light was rapidly approaching from the sky.
“It’s a Flying Yi! Retreat!” a frantic voice came through the communication. “Damn, they’re getting faster and faster! That was barely two minutes! Lucky for them! Everybody retreat!”
“I can abandon this body, let’s capture the target first! Next time it won’t be so easy if we’re marked.” the man in the dark suit said in a deep voice.
“Do what you want!” The communication ended abruptly.
The eyes of the man in the dark suit lit up red as he prepared to enter the ground floor alcove where Li Chengyi was hiding.
Suddenly, the red light from the sky sped up dramatically.
Whizz!
A red line struck like lightning, piercing straight through his chest then flew back into the sky, heading somewhere else.
The man in the dark suit, caught in the middle of a step, could not react fast enough and froze on the spot. His body slowly tilted and fell lifeless to the ground.
A charred black hole was now evident in the center of his chest.
The hole, the size of a fist, was rapidly expanding and spreading, as if some kind of poison was diffusing outward.
From the ground floor alcove, Li Chengyi slowly walked out, his face a mix of complexity as he looked at the Reinforced Human on the ground.
Just now, hiding in the alcove, he was ready to go into burst mode and kill the intruder if necessary.
Now, it seemed, there was no need.
He didn’t linger any longer, swiftly rushing up to the second floor. The door to Professor Zhong’s home was open.
He hurriedly entered the house and returned to the living room.
“Professor Zhong! Just now….”
Li Chengyi’s voice came to an abrupt halt.
At that moment, Professor Zhong Hui was lying on the couch, his entire body trembling as if he was having an attack.
An elderly lady was frantically trying to feed him medicine, but her hands were also trembling, and she couldn’t get many pills into his mouth.
“We must get to the hospital immediately!” Song Ran said as he stumbled out of the bedroom, leaning against the wall, his upper body covered in blood.

5:12 p.m.
Tongfeng City Hospital, emergency room.
The red emergency light dyed the corridor outside in a pale red glow.
Li Chengyi and Song Ran, both bandaged with varying amounts of gauze, sat resting on the waiting chairs.
Opposite them was Professor Zhong Hui’s wife, the same elderly lady who had previously served them water.
She looked exhausted, leaning on a metal chair, silent and speechless.
Besides them, there were several tall men in black police uniforms.
“Brother Song, don’t be so reckless next time. Give us a heads up before you come. If I hadn’t received the message just in time, you would have really been in danger,” the leading policeman with long hair tied in a ponytail said, his features ordinary and somewhat somber, his figure slightly overweight.
“Who attacked us?” Song Ran obviously knew the man well. He stood up, sighed, and asked softly.
“A fully upgraded Reinforced Human, what else?” the man replied in a low voice.
“Utopia?” Song Ran caught on. The only force capable of causing trouble in Yi Country and deploying fully upgraded Reinforced Humans, apart from Utopia, was no one else.
Of course, other organizations had the guts, but they didn’t have the technology to hide from Silent Fortress and let a fully upgraded being enter the city area.
“We’ve been keeping an eye on Professor Zhong Hui for a long time. According to our informants, Chen Zonghan from Utopia has been using him as bait all along,” the man replied.
“Bait? Blind Spot?” Li Chengyi joined in from the side.
“Yes.” The man glanced at Li Chengyi, aware he might be a Blind Spot Individual, a flash of pity crossing his eyes.
Blind Spot Individuals were no secret to official departments; these dangerous individuals were usually registered in the security archives. The man felt no disdain for those struggling against inescapable fates, just a sense of sorrow.
“Professor Zhong Hui holds the secret to the disengagement method, which is also information deliberately leaked by Utopia. We have dealt with similar cases twice before, following the same procedure. We had issued prior warnings, but some people still believed….” he sighed.
“I just want to know one thing, officer,” Li Chengyi stood up, his expression serious. “Does Professor Zhong Hui really know the disengagement method for Blind Spot individuals?”
“He should know. The department in charge of Blind Spot research has been here before and consulted Professor Zhong. Some people did successfully overcome the Blind Spot with his guidance,” the man nodded.
“Are there any other records? Why not document the information?” Li Chengyi continued to ask.
“Professor Zhong didn’t want to,” Song Ran answered from the side. “I don’t know why, but he didn’t want to record the disengagement method.”
Click.
At that moment, the light in the emergency room turned green.
The door slowly opened.
A weary doctor wearing a mask came out.
“Who is the family member of Zhong Hui?”
“Me, it’s me!” The elderly lady shakily stood up.
“The patient has been resuscitated, but his consciousness is still very vague and he needs rest.”
“It might seem insensitive, but since it’s a matter of life and death, I’d like to ask, Mrs. Zhong, can we meet Professor Zhong now?” Song Ran spoke up.
“Blind Spot individuals may enter the Blind Spot at any time and face life-threatening danger! So, two million! That’s the compensation we can offer right away!”
His attitude was sincere as he looked at her.
“Don’t ask him. I know a little,” Mrs. Zhong sighed. “The current Elder Zhong’s mind isn’t very clear, and he has many mixed-up memories. But the former Elder Zhong, I know he had a notebook with many of his private notes. What you’re looking for should also be in there.”
“Mrs. Zhong, you never mentioned this to us before?” a policeman next to them couldn’t help but speak out incredulously.
“Are you paying me?” Mrs. Zhong retorted.
The policeman was left speechless.
“If my husband wants to continue living, we need a lot of money, and they can give it,” Mrs. Zhong stated bluntly.
Cloning a living person required no small sum of money.
“So, where is the notebook?” Li Chengyi asked gravely.
Mrs. Zhong glanced at the two policemen, then looked toward Song Ran.
Song Ran took out his phone and quickly transferred the money.
In a few seconds, a light ding sounded.
Mrs. Zhong looked down at her phone and a chrysanthemum-like smile spread across her face.
Only then did she draw closer and whispered into Li Chengyi’s ear.
“We have a villa near Lin Qishan, and the item is inside the villa, under the third floorboard inside the main bedroom door…”
Li Chengyi narrowed his eyes.
Lin Qishan, that should be in the suburbs… not within the city limits.
Was it intentional?
He looked at Mrs. Zhong, who after speaking, had already moved away slightly, her head bowed looking at her phone with a happy smile on her face.
After receiving the information, he and Song Ran immediately took their leave and walked out of the hospital, got into the car.
“A villa in the suburbs… It seems this Professor Zhong really knows how to make money,” Song Ran said in a low voice. “Are you going to go?”
“Why not?” Li Chengyi replied. “A notebook so important is not kept in the safer city center but instead in a villa in the suburban mountains. Interesting.”
He glanced at Song Ran, whose one arm was broken again and had bandaged gauze on the side of his neck, looking in a sorry state.
“You should sit this one out, Brother Song. I’ll go alone this time.”
“I’ve already called people from the company, before coming here. They should arrive by tomorrow,” Song Ran answered. “You better not act recklessly, in case you encounter another Reinforced Human from Utopia….”
“I understand!” Li Chengyi nodded seriously.
He raised his head to look out the window.
“Utopia… What exactly are they trying to do?”
