Chapter 52: 050 Mist Street 2 (Xie Moci stayed up all night with a candle for the Alliance Hierarch)
“Found it! It must be that one.” Li Chengyi’s heart turned solemn as he was about to move closer.
Suddenly his complexion trembled, and the foot he raised stopped mid-air.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to go over to investigate, but… to the right of where he stood, under a telephone pole, there was a tenacious little white flower growing out of the cracks in the pavement.
‘Is this… a flower from the Blind Spot?’ Li Chengyi suddenly felt a strong surge of curiosity.
‘Could a flower in the Blind Spot be different from those in the outside world?’
‘Should I, perhaps, give it a try?’
An intense curiosity and anticipation made it nearly impossible for him to take his eyes off it.
He wanted to get close to that flower, to touch it.
To touch it!
Just to touch it!!

Xindela and Song Ran, with Zhong Ying driving, circled around the Candy Bar neighborhood.
The street was bustling with passersby, fairly lively. In some places, construction workers were at work, and barriers had been set up to halt traffic temporarily.
Several hot pot and potsticker restaurants had large reservation phone numbers plastered on their glass doors, the gilded digits shimmering with a strange glow under the night sky.
“This place has been around for a while, hasn’t it?” Xindela remarked gravely.
“Yeah, it’s an old street in Zhaoshan. The surrounding houses are at least fifty years old. They used to be mostly inhabited by old men and women. A few years ago, the officials planned to renovate the old city district and relocated everyone to the new areas. The remaining shops and residents, either hadn’t reached a settlement or hadn’t come up for negotiation yet,” Zhong Ying answered, honestly applying a swelling-reducing patch on her face in the car.
“Are you a local from around here?” Song Ran asked.
“Yeah, I moved here with my mom when I was a kid. My mom got pregnant before marriage; we don’t know who my dad is. Our reputation in the hometown got so bad that we simply moved away,” Zhong Ying said.
“Where’s your mom now?” asked Xindela.
“She’s sick and close to dying; I make money to pay for her treatment,” Zhong Ying responded honestly.
“Cut the crap! Tell the truth,” Song Ran frowned.
“…She ran off with some guy when I was five. Left me on the streets and ran,” Zhong Ying quickly replied.
“Are you sure?!” Song Ran raised his tone.
“I… alright… it was when I was fifteen. I’m not lying this time! Really!” Zhong Ying shrank back, afraid of getting hit again.
“So what do you need so much money for?” Song Ran asked incredulously.
“For my face, right? Plus, the body needs filling. I’ve got my eye on a piece of high-end colloid but it’s too expensive, and I’m still short,” Zhong Ying perked up as she spoke about this.
“Don’t you have other relatives?” Xindela inquired.
“Oh, I do, but they all look down on our family, thinking we’re dirty,” Zhong Ying said nonchalantly.
“You don’t seem to be tagged, are you?” Xindela noted. To be ‘tagged’ meant having sold oneself out.
While Zhong Ying appeared to have a seasoned air about her, their investigation revealed that surprisingly, the girl hadn’t actually ‘tagged’ herself for sale. She had made quite a sum of money by resorting to cheating, swindling, or setting up scams.
“Would you believe me if I said no?” Zhong Ying sneered with a mocking laugh.
“What’s with that expression?” Song Ran turned fierce, scaring her into behaving immediately.
“Show some respect to your boss!” Song Ran admonished.
“Yes, I understand,” Zhong Ying quickly nodded.
The three of them drove around the Candy Bar twice in the car, confirming there were no other leads, and then expanded their search to a larger district.
The night deepened, and the crowds began to swell with nightlife, yet this district became somewhat desolate by contrast.
With most residents gone, the old street lost much of its vitality, leaving only a few shops lit up, still hosting regular customers.
Every few minutes, a car would whiz past the Mist Banner SUV carrying Xindela and the others.
While driving, Song Ran was marking certain locations on his smartphone.
“Wait, the mobile signals of Sima Gui and Xiao Yi have disappeared!” Suddenly, his expression turned serious.
“Looks like they’ve gone in, encountered a Flash Appearance,” Xindela understood instantly.
Following the clues to his son, he had been investigating Blind Spots, now far from the ignorant and arrogant business mogul he once was.
Hearing Song Ran, he promptly reacted.
“I’ll boost the signal search, we’ll go pick them up as soon as they emerge,” Song Ran said with a determined voice.
“Right, don’t worry, there shouldn’t be any big problems. The Blind Spot in Mist Street isn’t very dangerous,” Xindela nodded in agreement.
Just as Song Ran was about to reply, all of a sudden, a black object suddenly descended from the sky, landing squarely on the windshield of the car.
The object, like a large net, completely enveloped the windshield in an instant.
All electronics in the vehicle went dead immediately, the steering wheel jerked uncontrollably to the left, and emergency brakes were engaged.
Screech!!
The tires left two black marks on the road surface, and the car came to a halt just before hitting a fire hydrant on the sidewalk.
A gray figure leapt down from a second-story building on the side, grabbed the left door of the car, and ripped it off with one pull.
Clang, the door was torn off, and the gray figure reached into the vehicle.
Bang, bang, bang!!
It was welcomed by three headshot burst fires.
Each bullet was a high-impact armor-piercing round; the yellow, spike-like tips punched three dents into the gray figure’s face, then were repelled outward.
The gray figure staggered back a few steps, yet before it could regain its balance, it was hit in the side of the neck by a punch from Song Ran, who had launched himself from the car.
Thump!
The two tumbled together and began grappling on the ground.
“Boss, get out quick! It’s a Full Body!” Song Ran yelled as he struggled to pin the gray figure down. It felt like he was wrestling a rhinoceros; within two seconds, he was flipped and thrown to the ground.
Xindela, on the other side, quickly pulled Zhong Ying out of the car and they both sprinted down the street, making their escape along the aging homes.
He looked back and saw Song Ran being ridden on the ground by the gray shadow, smashing wildly.
“Get ready.” Xindela suddenly spoke.
At this moment, Zhong Ying was still completely bewildered, not knowing what had happened.
Before she could ask, her hand was suddenly pulled forward by Xindela.
She fell forward, landing on the ground, her breast prostheses about to burst out from the pressure.
Ting ting.
Just then, two long black needles appeared out of thin air on the ground ahead.
Xindela pulled out his gun and fired twice in one direction, then continued to drag Zhong Ying forward as they ran.
“Do you guys… live… like this every day???” Zhong Ying was panting heavily, her face marked by terror.
Even when she’d gone into the Mist Street Blind Spot, she wasn’t this scared because the worst that happened there was playing slot machines, with no other dangers encountered.
“Bad luck for you, just today is more thrilling,” said Xindela, his expression somber. One of his eyes had turned purplish-red at some point, faint fluorescent light flickering within.
As he ran, his right hand let go of the gun and quietly pressed the emergency auto-dial button on his phone.
Not far away, on an open balcony on the second floor of an old building.
A tall woman in a gray coat was watching the chase scene unfold in the street from afar.
“What’s going on? Can’t even deal with two half-finished products?” The woman’s face showed displeasure.
“Those two are a bit peculiar, and our people have been deprived of many functions. At most, we can only mobilize two at a time, and the authorities are watching us closely,” replied a male voice through the earpiece.
“Damn, if it weren’t for the Silent Fortresses in every city… just two half-finished products!” The woman cursed under her breath. “Fine, I’ll take care of it myself.”
She raised her hand and the skin of her palm rapidly turned from flesh-colored to silver black. Then a seam opened on the back of her hand, from which a small silver-white missile rose.
Click.
Wings like small missile heads popped out from both sides of the missile.
The woman aimed her hand at Xindela.
“Wait! Someone’s coming! It’s Chen Jingsong!” The man’s voice in the earpiece suddenly rang out.
“Shit! How could he be so fast!” The woman in the gray coat cursed angrily, the missile quickly retracting back into her hand.
“They’re lucky, call it off!”
“Okay, we can’t move here, but we can take out the other two scattered targets,” answered the male voice.
“Hongjin Company’s headquarters also sent people over, be quick once you move,” the woman said coldly. “Now that we’ve spooked the snake, it’s clear that the mysterious complete entity is tied to Hongjin, so act decisively; many are watching us.”
“Okay.”
The woman said no more, turning and entering the room, disappearing in front of the door in an instant.

Mist Street Blind Spot.
Li Chengyi slowly approached the lamppost, squatting down before reaching out to a small white flower.
The white flower was the size of an egg, its petals evenly sixfold white with rounded edges, and the center held four square stamens.
The stamens were light green, with a center of brownish yellow.
‘What kind of flower is this?’ Li Chengyi touched a white petal with his finger.
‘Mountain Red: Also known as the red fruit or large hawthorn, a deciduous small tree of the rose family…. Information incomplete. Medicinal value… Incomplete. Flowering period incomplete…’
How could this flower be mountain red?
Li Chengyi was stunned. Mountain red, or large hawthorn, is a fruit tree that grows tall. It couldn’t be such a small plant flowering alone.
He examined the little white flower. Its leaves were dense, about the size of a fingernail, and the stems were branching heavily and slightly curved, as if struggling to support the flower above.
‘And why is there only a description of the flower? What about the flower language?’
Not convinced, Li Chengyi tried to cup the flower gently with his hand.
Finally, a faint coolness flowed into the back of his hand.
New information slowly emerged.
‘Flower Language: Celestedge Doomsday Art (consisting of thirteen layers, created by an unknown top-tier powerhouse, unrecorded; the method of cultivation is known only when the Flower Language Technique is used.
When cultivated to perfection, one can capture a thread of fate and merge it into one’s own divine consciousness, destroy the land with a raise of hand, shatter the clouds, oppose thousands single-handedly, and break mountains. )’
‘Flower Dress collection: New Divine Flower Position not unlocked.’
“…” Li Chengyi’s face stiffened as he stood petrified, struggling to snap back to reality.
Celestedge Doomsday Art???!
What the hell was that?
Was that even something from his era? Surely it belonged to some high-fantasy, martial arts world?
The Flower Language Ability, being too mysterious, left him momentarily unable to react.
He had thought it might be like the other flower languages he had encountered before, granting him a unique special ability, but he didn’t expect…
‘It must be a mistake… The previous incomplete information might have been confused… But what if it’s true…?’ Suddenly, Li Chengyi’s heart began to pound violently.
If the flower language carried by this flower was real… if the technique was real, then…
Could he cultivate it? If he could cultivate…
‘No, there’s only one flower; it’s impossible to collect enough for the Floral Dress to unlock the Flower Language Ability.’
He stood up and took a deep breath.
Although tempting, the flower was out of reach.
‘I should check out that slot machine first.’
Forcing his gaze away, Li Chengyi looked again at the fruit slot machine by the store up ahead.
