Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 255
Zaleena froze, slowly turning around to see who managed to pierce her heart. Although she was focusing on her spell, she knew that her spirit had her back. But since she was injured, she knew the person who managed to harm her was super strong.
"D-Drakoth?" She asked, looking into his eyes.
"I’m sorry, old friend. But I can’t let you cast that spell."
"Y-You..."
"Speak, I’ll allow you to get your final words in." He was that honorable.
"Y-You...." She smirked manically. "You should have gone for the head!"
"W-What?!"
Zaleena grabbed his face and activated the spell. "Absolute devastation!"
The entire place where Zaleena was battling the dragons was completely leveled, the only proof of a battle being there were the dragons that were falling from the sky. Some dead, some wounded, and others trying to help their comrades.
The earth shifted, lava spewed from the ground, and the sky was blocked by a thick, dark cloud of soot and smoke. Even the mana in the area was completely burned away.
"AGGHHHHHHHHHH!!! AGGHHGHGHGHGHGHHGGHGHGHGH!" Drakoth, at the last moment, transformed into his dragon form, narrowly avoiding a fatal wound. Still, his body wasn’t unharmed.
Half of his face was gone, his wings were completely atomized, his hind legs were blown to bits, his tail was split open, and he was missing an arm. While he wouldn’t die from these injuries since his dragon heart wasn’t harmed, the pain was unbearable.
"Lord Drakoth!"
"He needs medical attention!"
"Get a healer out here now!"
Over on the other side of the battlefield, Zaleena was currently healing from her body being completely destroyed. Like Zion, she kept a vial of her blood safely stored away in case her entire body gets destroyed.
"Ahhhhh!" She felt every muscle growing, bones breaking into place, and her organs finding their original spot.
"Zaleena! Are you okay?" Screech asked with a worried tone.
"Haah, I’m fine. Just in a lot of pain. Let’s use this time to escape." She put on some clothes and took off into the air, but suddenly, she was forced right back down to the ground.
"I’m impressed. I didn’t expect you to cast a suicide spell. Well, can you even call it that when you’re still alive?" Walking through a tear in space was Circe.
Even for a dragon, she was really imposing.
She had long, dark purple hair and purple eyes that could see through any illusion. She wore a loose, kimono dress that showed cleavage from her large breasts. She was tall, super tall, and even at that height, she still wore high heels. She carried a fan and had tons of jewelry decorating her body.
Just her presence alone was constantly emitting a wave of dragon fear that even made the dragons tremble before her.
"I know what your son is doing. If it wasn’t for Lord Bahamut telling me otherwise, I would have burned your kingdom to the ground."
Zaleena could feel her bones breaking under Circe’s presence. The crazy thing was that she wasn’t even using her power. Just existing was making Zaleena tremble.
"You know, I didn’t even care about what you were doing in the arena. You could have had your fun and left our land quietly. But then you had to stick your nose where it didn’t belong."
’S-Screech! Can you make an opening?!’
’I’ll try! She’s really strong though!’
"Don’t bother. You’re not even at a level where you can harm a hair on my body."
’D-Did she just read our minds?!’
But Screech didn’t have time to respond as Circe flicked her finger, and she was completely eradicated.
"Nooooo!"
"It sucks, doesn’t it?" Circe asked. "Losing someone close to you. You almost killed my husband today, Drakoth. If that had happened, I wouldn’t have sat around and let your son get away with the things he’s doing. So count yourself lucky."
"I don’t know how you read our minds, but I’ll fucking kill you for that!" Zaleena managed to get out.
Circe chuckled. "I didn’t read your mind, I read your mana. And I’d like to see you try."
"My son, Zion, is coming! He’ll stop you!"
"Your son, huh. My daughter, Nyx, is pretty fond of him, especially after beating her in the tournament. But he’s nothing but a mortal, what is he going to do against me?"
Zaleena didn’t know. Zion didn’t tell her that he was a demigod, so she didn’t know how Zion would beat her. She was just used to him having a plan for everything.
"I wonder what his reaction will be after I tell him that his mom is dead." Grinning widely, she angled one of her fingers down, charging a beam of divine energy over Zaleena’s head.
"Cast your spell, and I’ll slaughter every dragon that fucking exists!"
Circe smiled. "Zion, welcome. You’re just in-"
Zion wasted no time and clobbered the woman in her face, catching her off guard.
Zaleena looked up in shock. "Z-Zion?" But he didn’t answer.
He waved his hand and teleported her into his fracture.
"You hurt me? You actually HURT ME?!" Circe bellowed, releasing her demigod power.
"Yeah, that’s right. I did." Then Zion did the same.
Her eyes widened. "You...no...impossible. A demigod?"
"That’s right. So, do you wish to have a taste of my new power?" He asked
"Don’t think that you’re anything special because you achieved a new level of power. I was a demigod before your family tree was even born. I won’t allow you to leave this place. You’re nothing."
He smirked. "Care to find out?"
"Gladly." She grinned.
"Oh, but before we begin. You should take a look behind you." He pointed
"You think I’ll fall for a petty trick?"
"If you think the death of your people is a petty trick, then you’re one horrible Apostle."
"What?!"
She turned around to see a bunch of laser beams raining down on the kingdom, destroying anything and everything in sight, even people.
"Stop this!" She demanded
"Make me!"
"Grrr!" She charged at him
"However, the longer you fight me, the more your people will suffer. I have a lot more of those weapons and I’m not afraid to use them."
She squinted her eyes. "You’re bluffing."
"Tessa."
Every single satellite that was in space, whether they were meant as weapons or not, rained down on the kingdom.
"No! Stop it!"
"Still won’t allow me to leave?"
"Go! GO! Leave. Just stop killing them!" She begged.
"That expression suits you." He sliced open a rift in space for the style points and walked into it.
"Wait, stop those attacks!"
He just gave her the middle finger before closing the rift.
After he left, the attacks stopped.
"That mother fucker! I’ll fucking hill him! This means war!"
