Chapter 183: Chapter 183

"Crystal! I brought you a present!" Zion yelled as he walked into his home.

"Why are you yelling? Everyone is in the living...room." Crystal’s eyes widened as she looked down to see her older brother completely wrapped in golden light, which restricted his movements.

"Why do you have him?" She asked, "Not that I’m complaining, but it’s just odd that you’re walking around with my brother."

"The church got completely wiped out after I destroyed their temples, churches, and shrines. The losers lost their will to fight and were slaughtered, ha. This idiot was going to fight til his last breath, but I stepped in, killed the remaining Arion followers, and captured him. Thought you would want to take your anger out on him or something."

Crystal cracked her knuckles, relishing the thought of beating her brother to a pulp. "Ohoho, boy, do I have a ton of pent-up anger that’s begging to be released."

Zion released Beryl and sat down to watch what would happen.

"Ugh, so you two are working together, huh? Was everything you said at the party a lie?! Do you think you’ll get away with this?! Once I’m king-"

"It’s cute that you still think you have a chance at being king. Your forces are gone, you’re all alone, a weak, lost lamb." Crystal said, interrupting him.

Beryl was taken off guard by Crystal’s rather harsh words, considering she had never really talked back to him before. But he was just amused, not worried. "Little Crystal, do you think talking to me like that makes you strong?"

He turned, pointing his thumb at Zion. "You think you can act all high and mighty because he’s here? See, that’s why you’re weak. You have to mooch off others to survive. You’re a nobody and will always be Dad’s affair child."

"Is that it? Did you feel good?" Crystal was unbothered by her brother’s words. She heard the same thing over and over again all her life, and it’s gotten stale now. Not only that, but she wasn’t the same Crystal that he remembered, and wasn’t affected by little insults such as what he said to her.

"You’re simply trying to make yourself feel better because you know that your chances of becoming king are less than zero percent. Not that it would matter in the long run. You’re so dumb that you would have been a puppet for the Church anyway. I guess it’s better that you won’t become king."

"Oho! Burn!" Zion laughed. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓

Beryl was furious. He had heard the same thing from Amber and knew that Ruby and Lapis thought the same thing. But hearing it from Crystal really set him off.

Without thinking, he lunged at his sister, forming a sword of mana that was aimed at her throat. He put every ounce of his power into his attack to ensure that Crystal would die.

But as his sword got close, it was shattered by an invisible barrier that surrounded Crystal. It was her mana field.

"Wha-" Beryl didn’t even have time to react when Crystal stuck out her hand, pulling him forward using mana force and clutched his throat.

She squeezed as hard as she could without killing him or having him pass out. She wanted him to feel helpless, she wanted him to feel fear, and she wanted him to know who was now on top.

"You’re nothing but a worthless piece of garbage that doesn’t even deserve to breathe!" Crystal’s hand, pulsing with crackling mana, slapped Beryl’s chest, completely destroying his mana pathways and his ability to sense, use, and feel mana.

"ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!" He bellowed in pain as the mana in his body completely went wild.

As the pain was too intense for him to handle, he passed out, his neck going slack as Crystal still held him up.

"Little bitch. Can’t even handle your mana pathways being destroyed." She rumbled.

"Crys, no normal person can handle that." Zion reminded her.

"I know. But saying that made me feel better. Is there some place I can put him so I can beat him up later?"

"Yup. We have cells in the basement. I’ll lead you there. Oh, but don’t kill him. I have a grand finale for you once you take the throne, and I need your siblings alive for that." Zion put on his sinister grin, which made Crystal’s body shiver.

"What kind of grand finale?" She asked curiously.

"You’ll know when the time comes."

"And that’s what happened, Princess Amber. It was all too quick and random for me to completely understand. But at least we did manage to wipe out Prince Beryl’s forces." The commander said as he relayed what went down during their battle against the church.

’I can understand Zion getting rid of anything related to Arion, but to kidnap my brother? That’s just odd. Does he plan on helping him out? No, that shouldn’t be the case. I doubt Beryl would be of any use to him. So why did he take him?’

As Amber was drowning in her thoughts, one of her followers from the Noble faction entered the throne room to give her the latest piece of information.

"I have news, my lady." The messenger said, bowing his head.

"Speak." Amber allowed.

"After what happened to the Church’s army and learning that Prince Beryl has been eliminated from the war, your siblings have taken a step back and are moving quietly. Judging by how they are moving, I suspect that they will attack each other instead of the Castle." The messenger finished.

"That makes sense. They didn’t understand what or why whatever happened destroyed the church of Arion, so they probably suspect that it was my doing. This works in our favor."

"What shall we do, my lady?"

"We’ll wait. There is no need to fight a three-way war right now. We’ll have them believe that it was us who destroyed the church using that ’light show’ and allow them to attack each other while strengthening ourselves, while gaining more information on them. Once their battle is almost concluded, we’ll swoop in and eliminate everyone in one go."

Then an idea lit up in her head.

"Also, one last thing." Amber smiled maniacally. "Inform Duke Ralf that his grandson has been captured and killed by Duke Ellan."
