Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 172 - 173
Chapter 172: Chapter 173
Zion was in his lab looking at charts of data, alongside Alice, who was there for a routine checkup.
Over the past year, they had been working together to understand how her demon lineage affected her body and to see if she would ever be able to use mana again.
Fortunately, Alice was able to cultivate demonic energy as if it were mana with the help of Zion’s mana method. What was even better was that the use of dantians allowed for her to store her mana and demonic energy separately, mana in her meridians and demonic energy in her dantians.
Every now and then, they would meet up and see if anything had changed in her body due to the two different energies.
"You’re all good. Now I’m certain that as long as there is a different ’container’ for different energies, the body will be able to use all of them. You should be able to use mana and demonic energy separately without any side effects. Heck, you should be able to combine them as well. This includes your vampire form." He took off his glasses and spun around in his chair to face Alice, who was sitting on a medical bed.
"That’s amazing! Finally, I can go back to the academy!" After Alice was rescued, she wanted to go back to school since that was a part of her daily life; it was something she always did. But since she was now a demon, she wasn’t able to, and for the past year, she dreaded not being able to finish the year.
Lidia had asked her why she felt that way. After all, anyone who was in her position would want to take as much time off as they could.
Alice’s answer was that her mother had worked hard to give her that opportunity, and she didn’t want to waste it. She felt obliged to finish school for her mother’s sake.
"You’re still on that?" Zion asked, taking off his science glasses and lab coat. "Just stay here. Anything and everything you would have learned in school, you can learn here and more."
Alice sighed, knowing he would say that as he had suggested it to her before.
"Thank you, but this is something that I want to do."
"Something that you want, or something that you FEEL like you need to do? Your mother suffered unjustly to put you in school, yes, but that doesn’t mean you have to finish your education there. Your debts are paid, your mother is alive, healthy, and living her best life. Why not live that life with her?"
"I...I’m obligated to-"
"Did you even speak with your mother about this?" Zion asked, interrupting her. "How do you think she’d feel about this? Talk to her before you make any decisions. Also, I don’t want you going back to school because now you’re part demon, and I’m not trying to cover up for you if something happens. For now, at least."
Alice sighed, lying back in the bed and nodding her head. "Fine, I’ll talk to her. See you later."
"Yup, bye-bye. NEXT!" He shouted.
Alice looked at the door, then looked back at Zion. She was confused for a second and didn’t understand why he yelled the words ’Next’.
"Is something happening?" She asked
"Nah, I just wanted to act like I have patients lined up to see me. In truth, though, you’re my only patient."
"Oh, okay. Bye."
"Nope, give me a kiss first." He demanded, acting all smug
"D-Do I have to?" She blushed but walked closer to him unconsciously.
"It’s a good luck charm from your doctor."
"T-Then wish me good luck, doc."
Zion leaned in, kissing his girl, and pulled her in close to feel her body on his. The kiss was wet and juicy but full of love and passion. He cuffed her ass, giving it a good squeeze while his tongue ravashed her mouth.
After an intense five-minute make-out session, Zion broke the kiss and stared at Alice’s flushed face.
"Now, you can leave." He smirked
"Oh...Okay." She turned around, her face still flushed, and walked out of the room.
Zion returned to his room to relax for the rest of the day while playing with his daughter. He was reading a book to her as she sat in his lap when he heard a knock on the door.
"Come in." He answered.
Once the door swung open, a tall, beautiful woman dressed in a black negligee stepped in. Her mature, seductive aura filled the whole room as she locked eyes with Zion.
"Hey, baby." She said in a sultry tone, her lips glossy black. "Got any time for me?"
"Hey, Auntie, how have you been? Have you met Stella? She’s so cute, huh?" He turned to his daughter. "Look, Stella, that’s your grand-aunt. She’s a bit of a cultivation nut and is trying to seduce me so she can break through to the mystic stage. Pathetic, huh?"
Zion laughed and Stella laughed.
"Shut up!" Raven through a rock at Zion’s head, which bounced off of him and landed right back in Raven’s hands.
"Ow! What the hell!"
"Don’t tell lies to your daughter. That’s bad parenting."
"When did I tell lies?" He asked
"I’m not a cultivation nut."
"Oh? So why are you here?" He shot her a ’Go on, say it.’ look which only urked Raven.
"Fine! I came here because of that! Did you know your mother came to see me? She asked for a duel, which I obviously accepted, and she humiliated me! I’m at the peak of the transcendent stage! I mastered everything in your mana method, I have a spirit, and even underwent bone reconstruction!"
"Okay, okay, I get it. Come on, I’ll walk you through the process." He got up, summoned Aryah, and handed Stella off to her.
"Yay! Best nephew ever!" Raven grabbed Zion, hugging him tightly, and kissed him.
"Yeah, yeah. I’m your only nephew. Now let me go."
