Blade of the Goddess-Chapter 139
Chapter 139: Chapter 139 frёeweɓηovel_coɱ
Aethor dodged Zion’s attack and blasted him with another gust of wind that sent Zion flying into a tall tree that grew to the point where you couldn’t see the top of it.
Aethor was right behind him, and before Zion could even stabilize, a torrent of wind blasted him again, sending him tumbling through the sky once more. Vines shot out, wrapping around Zion’s legs and pulling him toward Aethor. But with a quick flick of his wrist, the vines were severed, and Zion hovered in mid-air, lazily brushing off the attack.
"Is that all you have?" Zion called out, floating a bit higher. "I expected more from someone with a family of spirit summoners. This is kind of disappointing."
Aethor’s eyes narrowed, fury flashing in them. "You’ll regret that."
The elf raised his hands, chanting under his breath. Three tiny dots appeared around him, glowing faintly, each one rapidly taking shape into a spirit. A wind spirit, a wood spirit, and a light spirit swirled into existence, each no bigger than a raven but radiating an immense power.
Zion watched with a mix of curiosity and amusement. He’d heard of spirits before, but seeing them in action was fascinating. His aura flickered with a faint pulse as he analyzed their movements. ’So that’s how they work...’ He thought to himself
Aethor’s spirits, now fully manifested, moved around him, and the air shifted. The wind spirit whipped the air into a frenzy, gusts of sharp blades cutting toward Zion. The light spirit flared, sending blinding beams of light that Zion easily dodged, but not without a slight squint. The wood spirit’s vines lashed out, trying to entangle him once again.
Zion grinned, effortlessly dodging each attack. "Impressive," he said, tapping his finger to his chin as if pondering. "But I expected a bit more creativity from someone so...familiar with spirits. You’re just throwing them out there like tools."
Aethor’s anger intensified, and he clenched his fists. "You think this is a joke?"
Zion raised an eyebrow, still unbothered. "A little bit, yeah."
With a growl, Aethor summoned his spirits to attack in unison, vines from the wood spirit lashing out with ferocity, the wind spirit creating a storm of cutting gusts, and the light spirit flashing like a star, trying to blind Zion. This time, Zion had to move faster. The attacks came at him from every angle, but even as he dodged, he was able to push back with simple pulses of holy energy, knocking the spirits off course.
But Aethor was relentless. He merged the powers of his spirits with his own magic, forming a massive energy sphere made of light, wood, and wind. The sphere grew and pulsed with destructive energy.
"I’ll destroy you!" Aethor shouted, launching the orb forward at Zion.
Zion didn’t even flinch. His hand reached out, palm open, and with a flick of his wrist, he stopped the sphere in its tracks. It crashed into his palm, and Zion’s aura flared. The sphere sparked and crackled, trying to push forward, but Zion held it in place with barely any effort. With a smirk, he casually pushed the energy aside, dissipating the destructive magic with ease.
"Nice try," Zion said, still sounding bored. "But I was expecting something more...catastrophic."
Aethor’s breathing became ragged as he staggered back, his body trembling from the effort. His spirits flickered around him, losing strength as the fight wore on. Zion, meanwhile, looked entirely unbothered, even a bit disinterested.
"Let me show you true power," Zion said lazily, his voice dropping as his aura surged. The atmosphere around him shifted—his presence alone now pressing down on the battlefield like an oppressive weight. His aura flared brilliantly, filling the air with holy energy.
Aethor’s eyes widened in shock, his breath catching in his throat. "This—this is impossible..."
Zion slowly raised his hand, extending it toward Aethor. "This is what real power feels like. You don’t even stand a chance."
Aethor’s spirits cowered, flickering weakly around him as if sensing the overwhelming difference in strength. Zion’s hand remained outstretched, his power ready to end the fight, but before he could make a move, a soft voice called out.
"Zion, stop."
It was Valindra.
Zion froze, his hand hovering in the air. He glanced down at Valindra, standing between him and Aethor. Her eyes were pleading, her voice shaking as she looked up at him.
"Please," she whispered.
Zion’s expression softened slightly, but he still didn’t lower his hand. "You know I could end this right now," he said, his voice quieter but still carrying a sharp edge.
Valindra stepped closer, her eyes locked on his. "I know... but this isn’t the way."
Zion let out a soft sigh, then slowly withdrew his hand. The weight in the air lifted, and Aethor collapsed to his knees, exhausted.
"Next time," Zion muttered, "I won’t hold back." He turned away, signaling the end of the fight, and Vailndra chased after him.
’How? How is this possible?!’ Aethor wondered to himself, his knees shaking and his heart pounding.
’He’s a human! A trash fucking human! How can he be so strong?! I’m the powerful one! I’m smart! I’m talented! No one is better than me!’ He looked up, his eyes landing on Valindra following Zion with a smile etched across her face. His anger surged, and his hands bled from how tightly he clenched them.
’That fucking slut! You open your legs for the first human you see? After I’ve been here with you for decades?! I’ll kill him! I’ll kill him! I’ll kill him!’
"Calm down, Aethor. This isn’t the way someone in our family should act." Lefyr reminded him, placing his hand on Aethor’s shoulder to calm the boy.
"But grandfather! Did you see them?! That bitch-"
"That ’bitch’ is still the daughter of the Queen and is the Princess of our people so watch what you say, child." He demanded, his voice firm and assertive.
Aethor bowed his head. "Y-Yes, grandfather. I apologize."
"Do not worry about this and go back home. I’ll have a chat with the Queen to clear up any misunderstandings. Do not fret, it is you who will marry into the Royal Family, not that human."
