Chapter 168: Arrival of the King - Part 1

"Kissing Nurse..."

Everyone looked blankly at Rae, and she had her head low—looking at the ground—and she then heard a muffled laugh.

"Don’t laugh!"

She was on the verge of tears.

In that moment, everyone burst into laughter, and Rae tried to make them stop by punching them, but it just made them laugh harder.

"Hahaha~ Rae, are you hiding something from us? How did you earn that nickname?"

Joanne asked with a grin.

"I honestly don’t know. I haven’t kissed anybody. My level 2 class was Hugging Nurse. I never hugged anybody either!"

Rae cried out.

She didn’t want to reveal to anybody that she actually knew where she got that class name from, as it was far too embarrassing.

Whenever she was in her room, she liked practicing her healing spells on teddy bears. She imagined them as some handsome princes who thank her for saving them.

Then there was always some hugging and kissing involved.

It was far too embarrassing for her to say that out loud!

"So... Do you have to kiss people now to heal them?"

Luke asked curiously with a serious look.

If that was the case, he might accidentally get ’hurt’ so he could get healed by her.

"No, you stupid... Like I didn’t need to hug anybody either when I was level 2. I think it’s just a stupid class name that has zero correlation to its actual function."

Rae said with a pout.

"Alright, alright. Machary, you’re the last one, so what’s your class?"

Fang Raon asked.

With all eyes turning to Machary, he just sat with his arms crossed, and then with a sigh, he said.

"Cruxed Knight."

Everyone blinked in confusion as they couldn’t quite get the name—it wasn’t funny or clever—just confusing.

’I think cruxed means like something is fucked up and crazy at the same time. It’s crazy that he is a knight. Or that he is a knight who is both fucked up and crazy?

’Doesn’t sound like Machary.’

Fang Raon rubbed his chin in thought.

"I don’t get the name either, but it gave a pretty decent Innate Skill, so I chose that one from the selection."

Machary said.

"Mmh. Alright, everyone, get prepared. There will be a wagon waiting over at the gate. Stock up, and we’ll meet there in an hour."

Fang Raon said.

Everyone nodded, stood up, and headed out.

They were either going to their rooms to get their stuff or just straight to the Snowberry Village to purchase some stuff.

Meanwhile.

’I need to go purchase a shield. Since Rickard destroyed it, I am without a shield, and I need to go buy one.’

He thought, stood up, and headed off.

...

Thump~ Thump~

A wooden wagon wheeled down a snowy road. Its wheels were made to withstand the slipperiness of the snow.

The inside of the wagon was draped with fur covers. It was pretty nice. And the players sitting inside thus weren’t complaining about the roughness of the ride.

"Can you keep the flap shut?"

Ira said with annoyed tone.

With a sigh, Luke closed the flap, as he just wanted to get some fresh air, but it was so cold, so nobody wanted for it to be open.

"I saw you go to the weapon store. What did you buy?"

Machary asked Fang Raon.

They were sitting across from each other—their legs almost touching—and both of them were eating some beef jerky.

There were no seats. They were just sitting on the floor of the wagon. It was fine, as this was how most players traveled in the tower.

There were always carriages to ride, which would have seats, but they wouldn’t be able to carry a party of ten.

"Steel Shield—it’s cheap and good enough for now—I want to find a better one, but they are so expensive."

Fang Raon said with a sigh.

He was also accustomed to Steel Shield, so he didn’t bother to purchase a new one and settled with that one.

The fight against Rickard proved that if he fought a truly powerful opponent, Steel Shield was going to get destroyed instantly.

"Sirs, we are arriving at the tower!"

The wagon driver said.

It made everyone alert, and after a couple more bumps, they came to a stop at a ditch that had a small icy river running through it.

"Wohoo, we are finally here!"

Luke jumped out of the wagon and exclaimed.

The icy tower stood tall and ominous in front of them.

It was surrounded by cold mist, ditches, and snow-covered bushes, as if someone had forgotten this tower at the side of a road.

"..."

Fang Raon took out an icy key from his inventory.

It was given to him by Della before he left with the wagon with the party.

They had no shortage of these keys. They’ve probably found every Icy Tower Key on the entire 15th floor.

Whenever players came to the 15th floor in search of the Icy Tower Key, they would need to buy one from Rose Records.

It was another way of making money.

But it was just a small amount, as Icy Tower Keys were never that expensive, and if they tried overpricing it, they would get in lots of trouble.

"I am good at predicting snowstorms, and there is a feeling in my gut that there will be one tonight. At the first sight of snow, I’ll head back to the village, and if you aren’t back by then, I am sorry, but you have to walk back home."

The driver said.

"Alright, we’ll be quick."

Fang Raon said with a nod.

He then walked to the tower, put the key inside the lock, and twisted it to the right.

In that moment, the ice, which was covering the door, started cracking, and shattering as if an egg was being broken up.

In that moment, the doors swung wide open.

"No need for torches, it looks like."

Fang Raon said as he looked inside the tower.

It was very well-lit inside with glowing crystals inside the transparent icy walls, and the hallway was going very far—it looked like.

"Okay."

Rae put away her torch, which she was about to light up, but if they didn’t need any torches, there was no need to carry one.

It was always better if she had both her hands available.

They then bid farewell to the outside world, entered the tower, and the doors of the tower immediately shut behind them.

The raid had officially started.
