[BL]The Hero and his Party Won't Let Me Go-Chapter 184: Ch : You will have to come back - Part 2
Emperor Kaiden’s look-alike gave Shuu an almost pained glance before he sighed and pushed Shuu back gently.
Shuu’s knees collided with a bench, and he sat down before he knew it.
"I know you have a lot of questions for me, and I am here to answer them all for you. Unfortunately, we do not have a lot of time."
The man told Shuu, and Shuu wasted no time in asking important questions.
"What is this place, and who are you? Why do you look like Emperor Kaiden, and what do you want from me?"
Shuu started with simple questions first, and he waited for the person sitting in front of him to start answering. But Emperor Kaiden’s look-alike simply waved his hands, and a teacup floated around them and poured them both tea.
Once the Emperor’s look-alike grabbed the cup and took a sip, he finally put it down and gave Shuu a small but sad smile.
"Hmm, what tough questions you ask. Let’s take it one at a time. You want to know where we are? Let’s say we are currently in your dream, where you are witnessing a mixture of past and present. And as for who I am and what I want...? Can’t you guess already?"
The Kaiden look-alike did not give Shuu a straight answer. He twisted his words around just as much as Kaiden did, and Shuu was becoming more and more certain about things.
He clutched his head and rubbed it before he looked at the Emperor’s look-alike.
"If this place is based on my memories, I find it harder and harder to believe."
After all, Shuu had never known the Goddess or Emperor Kaiden before. The sense of nostalgia he was getting from the pair should not be that high... 𝕗𝐫𝚎𝗲𝘄𝐞𝕓𝐧𝕠𝘃𝕖𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝚖
"Are you sure you have not forgotten it all and your subconscious is not trying to remind you of your past? Think about it. Just how many times have you seen a dream you could not explain?"
Kaiden’s look-alike asked Shuu, and he suddenly recalled the dream about the world burning around him.
Just thinking about it caused Shuu a small headache, and he quickly chased that memory away. He did not want to think about it.
"Fine, consider that this is my past and this is all a memory, so what do I do with it? A memory is just a memory, and humans tend to live in the present. I don’t want to dream about it anymore."
Shuu told the Emperor’s look-alike with confidence. But he did not feel the same on the inside.
"Hmm, you don’t want to dream about it anymore? I can see where you are coming from. But my dear, it is no longer something you can control. The Goddess wants you to recall your past and come back to her."
The Emperor’s look-alike leaned closer to Shuu all of a sudden, and Shuu felt even more troubled. He took a step back, only for the imposter’s face to hover right in front of his own.
"Soon that war that was put on hold will resume once more, and as her weapon, you will tear it all apart and put her name forward in that war. In the end, you have no choice but to come back to her-"
The space started to distort all of a sudden, and then it got hazy. The Emperor’s look-alike reached for Shuu’s arm and squeezed it.
"In the end, you have no choice but to come back home. Do not forget where your home is-"
That was the last Shuu heard in his dream before he was pulled out of it. He gasped as soon as he opened his eyes and tried to jerk away. But a tight grip on his arm prevented him from being able to move.
"Shuu, open your eyes. Are you feeling alright?"
A worried face hovered over Shuu as soon as he opened his eyes. Concern-filled eyes looked at him, and Shuu blinked as he looked back at Emperor Kaiden.
"Where am I-"
Shuu’s throat hurt when he tried to speak, and Emperor Kaiden immediately gave him a glass of water.
"Don’t speak. Not only did you have a rough night, but it also seemed like you were having a rough dream. So I decided to wake you up. You don’t mind, right?"
Emperor Kaiden asked in his gentle voice, and hearing that made Shuu feel a lot better than before.
He blinked at the emperor in front of him and sighed in relief.
"I...feel much better now. Thank you for asking. However, my head still hurts a little, and I can’t recall what I was dreaming about."
Shuu confessed as he tried to recall the dream. But just when he thought he got close enough to recalling it, his head throbbed, and he gave up on his train of thought.
Kaiden immediately reached for Shuu’s head and massaged it gently. He had a soft expression on his face when he looked down at Shuu.
"Don’t think too much about it. You don’t have to worry about anything when you are with me. Do you understand?"
Kaiden’s words touched Shuu enough for him to sigh and nod. His instincts calmed down whenever the emperor was close to him, and Shuu instantly felt better.
"I...feel so much better now that I have heard you say this. But you better prepare yourself as well. Since you are making me rely on you, then you better be ready to take responsibility for me."
Shuu joked around, but Emperor Kaiden made Shuu look at him with an earnest expression.
"There has never been a time in my life when I was not serious about you. You have been and always will be the most important person in my life."
Shuu’s breath hitched at the confession, and his words died down. He did not even recall what he wanted to say.
In the end, he let out a chuckle and gave Kaiden an uneasy smile.
"Caelis will cry if you tell him that."
"No, he will cry if you tell him that. The feeling of disinterest is mutual between me and him."
That made Shuu burst out into laughter, and it took him some time to get it under control.
