Chapter 365: 365: Fix Him

Felix was unconscious for three days.

Eden had welcomed him and Mr. Albert in and given them a room to stay. For those three days, Mr. Albert didn’t really interact with the others. He was always in Felix’s room, using magic to try and heal him. The excessive use of medications on Felix had taken a toll on him—he had grown weak and fallen unconscious, and Mr. Albert was desperately trying to fix him.

He was doing all in his will to find a solution in doing so. Trying different experimental magic on Felix while hoping that one would work out in the long run. He had dedicated his whole time there in finding a way to heal him eventually.

On the third night, Eden stood in the corridor close to Felix’s room. He had both arms folded as he stared at the closed door.

"What are you doing here?" Adrian soon joined him, also looking toward the door.

Eden said nothing. Adrian continued, "He’s been unconscious for days now. Are you worried about him?"

Eden hesitated, then sighed. "It’s his father’s fault that he’s like this. Why should I be worried? He did this to himself, so he should struggle to fix it."

Adrian looked at him with a knowing smile. "It seems you’ve gotten terrible at lying. Because it’s clear that you’re worried."

He glanced back at the door. "No matter how we choose to see it, he’s still a father who would do anything for his son."

Eden sighed. "And that’s the worst part."

They stood there, staring at the door as the rest of the group joined them. Elvis, Lysander, Leo, Helen, and Cordelia soon gathered behind him.

"What are you doing here? I thought you were joining us for the fireworks?" Lysander asked.

They too turned their attention to the door. Lysander sighed. "He’s been at it for ages now. Trying to wake his son, but nothing’s working."

Eden folded his arms, still staring. He was worried—worried about Felix. He knew the poor boy didn’t deserve any of this. There was no reason for him to suffer because of his father’s choices.

Without a word, he walked ahead and entered the room. The others followed quietly.

Mr. Albert was still trying to heal his son. He had his hand placed over Felix’s chest, sending what little energy he had left into him.

But it was no use. Nothing was working. Felix wasn’t waking up. His expression kept shifting, like someone trapped in a nightmare.

Mr. Albert stopped as soon as they walked in. He turned and stared at them.

"You..."

Eden said nothing. He kept his eyes on Felix for a long moment before finally asking, "Do you really think doing this will miraculously wake him up?"

Mr. Albert didn’t respond. He simply stared at his son.

Eden added, "His spirit core is weak. He’s trapped in an illusion—losing himself in it, and right now, he doesn’t have the strength to break free."

Mr. Albert gasped, looking down at Felix. "It’s all my fault... All I wanted was to protect him. I didn’t consider whether his body could handle it... I didn’t think..."

Eden stepped closer. "This isn’t the time for blame. If you keep going like this, you might lose him forever. So step aside."

Mr. Albert obeyed without question. He rose to his feet as Eden sat down beside Felix.

Eden placed his hands on Felix’s chest. He watched Felix’s shifting expression as purple mist surrounded his palms and began to hover around Felix’s body.

He was using his powers to calm and heal him while Mr. Albert watched, anxious and helpless.

Everyone in the room stood silently, watching as Eden’s energy flowed around Felix.

"Thank you..." Mr. Albert finally said after a while, his head bowed, his breathing heavy. "Thank you for this..."

Eden said nothing. He kept his eyes on Felix, continuing to weave his magic.

Mr. Albert felt the need to say more—especially now, weighed down by overwhelming guilt. The very person he had once tried to destroy was now the one sheltering them and saving his son.

He was drowning in regret.

"Even after everything that happened, you’re still..."

"Apologizing and appreciating won’t change anything," Eden cut in, his voice calm but firm. "I’m not doing this for you. I’m doing it for your son. While you were busy trying to have me killed, your son was trying to save me. So I’m just repaying that. Don’t read too much into it."

Mr. Albert nodded. "I know. That’s why I’m grateful. That you’re helping him anyway..."

Silence hung in the air. Mr. Albert hesitated, searching for the right words. "You know... I’ve always wanted to apologize. Even if you’re not willing to listen or accept it, I still want to say it."

He continued, his voice heavy. "I was blinded by my desperation to keep my only son alive. And it led me to ruin other lives..." He looked at Eden. "It might sound like an excuse, but I still want you to know my story. At least someone will know it when I’m gone. Maybe then someone will try to understand why I made such terrible choices."

He offered a faint, sad smile as he began to share his past—how he lost his wife, and how that loss set him on a desperate path to save his son. He spoke as if unburdening himself, hoping that simply being heard might release some of the guilt.

At least someone would listen.

"I know it was cruel and evil," he admitted. "I know that now. But back then, it felt like the only way out." He scoffed bitterly. "You can judge me all you want. I can accept that. But please... don’t hold any of this against my son. He had no part in it. Please, forgive him."

Eden continued channeling his power into Felix as he listened. His heart ached at the words, old memories surfacing and flooding his mind.
