Chapter 332: 332: Horse Racing

The gun was shot, the reins pulled, and the horses took off immediately.

The audience cheered as they watched the horses move with immense speed. It was a thrilling watch, especially with the speed involved.

While they cheered, Helen and Marcus stood there and watched, both arms folded.

"Do you think he’s going to win this one?" Marcus asked.

"I’d like to say I don’t know, but it seems he will win," she smiled.

"Are you sure...?" Marcus asked. "I mean... Evans has a history..."

She smiled. "Don’t worry. He knows. We know. And he came prepared."

Marcus simply nodded while watching the ongoing match. "Interesting, then. I’d like to see what he does to counterattack it."

"By the way..." Marcus said. "What about that cat of yours? Haven’t seen him around?" He looked around.

Helen scuffed. "What would a cat be doing here?"

"Oh. Fair enough," Marcus nodded.

"But don’t worry," Helen smiled. "You’ll see him soon."

Marcus nodded, staring at the ongoing horse race, anticipating.

The race was in session. And Eden was falling behind.

Compared to Evans, his horse skill wasn’t so good. Evans was moving faster and stronger. He had already surpassed him, and it was obvious at the moment that he was going to win.

The crowd cheered in joy, calling out his name in chants as he moved in a flash with his horse.

Eden was behind now, almost getting further behind. He had input what Leo taught him about riding a horse, and with that, he had gotten a steady control of the horse.

It helped him not to get too far behind, to be steady and at least fast. But he wasn’t fast enough at all, and it was obvious he wasn’t going to win at such a rate.

They needed to run around the field three times with the horse, and they were into their second turn now. One and a half to go.

Eden wasn’t too worried. He wasn’t panicking. Rather, he was waiting for the time—his awaited time to turn the tables.

Evans laughed as he looked back. "How does it feel to be behind? Pretty nervous, huh?" He laughed as he continued.

Eden said nothing. He tried quickening his pace and was close enough to Evans. And that was when it happened.

What he was waiting for all along.

His horse began moving funnily. Its feet had grown unsteady as it began moving in a dangerous manner.

It raised its chin and made noises and began moving in a crazy manner—dangerous for anyone who was on it.

"The horse has lost it."

"Is this even safe?"

"Shouldn’t he stop?"

"Oh dear. This is bad for him."

The horse was moving crazy and shaking itself. But Eden didn’t let go. He held the horse firmly even as it went haywire. He made sure at least he didn’t fall off the horse.

Evans laughed. "You can’t even control a horse," he laughed as he proceeded running with his horse without looking back.

Eden didn’t bother with him. He already knew this was his doing. He had learned about it while preparing.

He was informed that Evans always messed with the horses, and as a result, his opponents always lost.

So Eden had come prepared this time.

The horse had gone crazy and ran out of the field for the race. While Evans’s horse moved toward winning, Eden’s horse had branched off, moving crazily through the fields while threatening to throw Eden off.

The audience stared, some already standing up. They were shocked and terrified by the scene, some wondering if Eden was going to fall off the horse.

But Eden held tightly as the horse moved crazily and made its way toward every possible corner.

"He is strong, though. He’s not letting go yet?"

"I thought he’d fall easily, but it doesn’t seem like it."

"He is strong indeed."

They watched as his horse moved toward a corner. Eden had meticulously controlled the horse toward that corner using what Leo taught him.

And that was a corner where other horses were standing and feeding on grass.

All eyes were on the scene where Eden had controlled his crazy horse to.

"What’s he doing?"

"Why did he go there...?"

Immediately, a white horse stepped forward from the group of horses eating. It wasn’t just another normal white horse.

It was Lenny in a white horse form.

As Lenny, in the form of a horse, pulled closer, Eden jumped off his crazy horse.

Everyone gasped in shock as they watched him jump—an impressive jump that had people stunned. And Eden landed effortlessly on Lenny.

He smiled as he pulled Lenny’s horsehair gently. He didn’t have a rein, so he used his hair as one, pulling his reins while driving the horse forward.

"Wow! How did he do it?"

"That’s actually so cool."

"He just switched horses like that? Impressive!"

"I think I’m already team Eden now..."

Eden forged ahead as Lenny took off. The speed Lenny used was faster than a normal horse. He wasn’t a normal horse, after all.

He took off with an insane speed that, in no distant time, he had caught up with Evans! The audience instantly gasped and cheered at this.

"He caught up?!"

"That’s insane!"

"That’s crazy! Damn!"

Evans gasped in shock as he turned to see Eden beside him on his horse. His eyes were wide in shock. "How... How the hell...?!"

Eden smiled as he said, "Nice meeting you again. It was so nice of you to wait for me. But as it stands, I have to leave. I don’t really enjoy losing to just anyone."

He winked at Evans as he set off. His horse effortlessly taking the lead and surpassing Evans.

Evans put all the effort he could, kicking and pulling his horse, but to no avail. At some point, his horse got pissed off about the kicking and pulling, and his horse stopped.

His horse stood at a spot and began feeding on the grasses there.

Evans panicked in shock. "What the hell do you think you’re doing?! Move! Move now! Move, you stupid horse!" He kicked and kicked, but the horse didn’t move.

When the horse was fed up, the horse stood on its feet and Evans fell off and landed on his butt.

"Damn you, stupid horse, ouch!!!"

It was already too late when he got up. Eden had already won and was being cheered for at the finishing line.

He stared in utter shock as Eden turned on his horse, waving and smiling at him.

Evans gasped. "Fuck."
