Chapter 323: 323: Save the Day.

Lenny stiffened, his eyes fixed on Marcus’s face. His eyes... nose... his face...

He never knew the heart could make such frantic movements until this day. And as his heart skipped, he was scared of what might happen next. Would it fly out?!

"You’re hot," Marcus stared into his face, his hands meeting Lenny’s cheeks, which were already hot and pink. "Are you sick?"

"Let go of me—!" Lenny snapped as he brushed his hands off. But it was already too late to hold himself steady. He had slipped and was falling backward.

Just when he thought he was about to fall into the water, Marcus held him by the waist. His hands were so close to his body beneath the water that Lenny almost screamed.

He stared at him in panic. "What the hell are you doing?! Let me go now!"

"But you’re—"

"I’m naked, let me go!" Lenny never expected to say those words, but they came out anyway, and shame filled him as Marcus let go.

He fell into the water with a splash as Marcus stared at him in shock. His hands were now behind him, and his cheeks were red.

"Are you okay...?" He stared in shock as Lenny struggled in the water. "Just get lost, oh dear!"

Marcus stood there for a while. He awkwardly cleared his throat as he looked around and then said, "Well... then what’s your name, if I may ask?"

"Does that matter now?" Lenny had his eyes open now after a while of struggling.

"Yes."

"I’m not telling. Leave now, unless I’ll just scream!"

Marcus stood there staring at him. After a while, he smiled and then said, "Okay then, I’ll just call you Louis."

"And why the hell would you call me that?" Lenny demanded, slightly coughing from the water.

"I just will. See you around then, Louis. Enjoy your bath," he said with a smile as he began leaving the water.

Lenny watched him leave as he grabbed his shirt. He turned to him and smiled again. "See you around then, Louis!"

He said as he turned and walked off.

Soon, he was out of sight. Lenny blinked. "That pervert, what the hell was that?" he muttered as he stared at himself now, just to get a better view of his new human self.

But he was back to being a cat.

He stared at his wet paws and fur as he blinked. "Oh, I’m back?"

He was confused. He couldn’t understand how that had happened. And no matter how he tried to shift into a human, it wasn’t working at all.

Lenny was beyond confused now. He couldn’t understand the logic behind it all, no matter how much he tried. "How the hell... did that happen?" he said simply.

"What the hell.... happened?"

The next day, Helen and Eden sat alone at a table in the cafeteria. They had their meals before them while they stole glimpses at the table close by—the table where the nerdy-looking guy from the previous night was sitting alone.

The guy whom Eden was certain was the author of the novel who had been dragged into the novel too.

They watched him eat alone while Helen commented, "He doesn’t seem to have any friends. I haven’t seen him with anyone."

"It makes sense. He’s not from this world, so it’s not easy to make friends. He’s probably still shocked about the whole transmigration stuff."

Helen ate and then said, "I think he’s in year two as well."

"Is that so?"

"Yeah. So, his second year."

Eden sighed. "Nevertheless, we have to find a way to get close to him. And I think we should start now," he said, going through the endless thoughts in his head.

"Have you done that assignment given to you? I heard Leo’s coming to class tomorrow or so," Helen casually asked.

"No, I haven’t. It’s not my first time not doing an assignment, so I’ll be okay," he expressed.

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah." Eden still had his eyes on the nerdy guy, looking for the perfect time to approach him.

And just then, some group of boys approached him first. 𝕗𝗿𝕖𝐞𝐰𝗲𝕓𝐧𝕠𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝐨𝚖

"Who are they? His friends?" Helen asked as the two of them stared.

"They don’t look like his friends. He doesn’t even look comfortable with them at all. I think they’re bullies..." Eden said.

"How are you sure?" Helen asked.

"I mean, it shows. I’ve seen situations like this a lot. They look like some gang of bullies taking advantage of the nerdy guy," Eden explained.

"So what do we do?" Helen asked.

"I think this is our opportunity to get close to him. We can take this chance and stand up for him, and then perhaps we can get close," Eden suggested.

Helen stared at him. "Are you sure about that? I mean... those bullies don’t look like someone you can mess with like that. They’re... certainly seniors."

Eden sighed. "I’m the Wizard of EL, so why should I fear a bunch of inconsiderate mortals who take advantage of people?"

Helen nodded. "Oh yeah. So what do you plan on doing?"

Eden stared ahead at them for a while. "Save the day," he smiled.

"Are you ignoring us now, you bastard?" The leader of the gang questioned the nerdy guy, who sat there eating.

"Look at this fool. Where is the money we told you to get for us? Huh?" another questioned. "Are you waiting for us to come and take it from you? Don’t you know you have to bring it to us, you freak?"

"This bastard’s face pisses me off. He has gotten more annoying. I mean, he’s rich and all. So what’s there in giving us some money here? Huh? Are you looking down on us now?"

One pushed his head as he snapped, "Hey! Where the hell is our money? Why haven’t you brought it to us?!"

The nerdy guy hesitated before he said to them, "I don’t have... enough money to give to you..."
